  1. Remembering when I lived in Thailand in the 1990s there was an excellent and cheap government bus service. It went to every corner of the country and provided a perfectly good service. Nowadays it seems the mini bus mafia and private bus companies are everywhere and its is difficult to find the good old government busses. Last year, coming up from Hat Yai to Surat Thani I was more or less forced to take a private minivan as no one in the bus station would admit to there being a government bus. I later found out there were many of them but the mini bus mafia forces them to stay quiet. I don,t like being lied to and tricked by these mafia people and I hate their little death trap sardine cans usually piloted by some nutter methed out of his head. Anyone shed any light on the matter?

Yes. I am carrying that western mindset that wants everything settled immediately. Just got to chill out an mai pen ray !
  3. Thank you for your kind words. I think its a MOOT POINT. Whether airline rule or immigration rule. It doesn,t matter. Fact is, the rule it can be enforced by the airline at point of departure.

Easier said than done. From outside the country anyway. And by the time I get to Thailand the cheaters will have spent the cash. Ripped of pre arrival...
  5. Is it normal for Thai Railways to just rip you off when you cancel a ticket. I cancelled our 3 return tickets from Bangkok to Chiang Mai and within seconds they disappeared from the app with no trace . No refund ....NOTHING
  6. Got to be honest . 90% of this website posts are shyte. 😂
  7. It is a rule by many airlines that you have an exit ticket. Many wont let you check in without one. Not generally asked for it on arrival in Thailand though. Overstay being the main worry, though of course this onward ticket rule doesn,t automatically prevent that.
  8. If you have long hair take care when on the.
  9. Lock that garbage up for 5 years ! Then deport them and forbid EVER to return to Thailand. Scum !!!
  10. Treble the price of alcohol....That would weed out the unsane ones a bit.
  11. Can only fault them for the excessive use of force. Wandering around in the traffic wearing only pyjamas is pretty standard in Vietnam. If it wasnt for that other farang they could have killed him. They are like dogs; once they get the bloodlust they glaze over and keep going until their prey is finito.
  12. Possibly it means. The onward ticket rule is shyzer because it doesnt stop people overstaying.
  13. I know it works for some but it didnt work for me. Multiple times.
  14. Its really bull<deleted> because it wouldnt stop anyone who was planning to overstay
  15. It wouldnt allow me to buy the ticket. More than once actually.
  16. Thanks. That may be useful in the future.
  17. I have actually tried onwardticket.com but it didnt work, so I just bought a bus ticket instead....and cancelled it later.
  18. Thanks... but in my experience a bus/train ticket out of the country works just fine. Thats the trouble with internet information. People just fling out any old bull<deleted> without even knowing. Thus causing more problems than they solve.
  19. My concern was the checkin not letting me board without onward ticket....so I will just book a cheap train to Malaysia .
  20. I dont like Phillipines. Dangerous !
  21. Got to be in UK to get them. Thanks .
  22. Arriving UK passport , visa exempt in late March for 35 days. Do I still get 60 days on arrival? I hear that they may return to 30 days. As my flight leaves after 35 days what happens if they change it back suddenly before I fly out? Could I get an emergency extension in that case so I dont have to get a new flight? I know they do things suddenly without giving any warning and dont want to lose my flight home.
  23. No reason to murder her.
  24. What I really hate about the right wing is just how dishonest they are. Wasnt it the government in Orwells 1984 who forced people to disbelieve what their eyes and ears showed them?
