  3. For SE Asia roaming, it helps to compare coverage and throttling policies. I used Maaltalk for a couple of weeks in Malaysia and Singapore on a regional plan. Setup through their app was straightforward using eSIM QR, and real‑world speeds were consistently good for navigation, messaging, and moderate video. It’s not unlimited true 4G/5G everywhere, but for a 15–20GB travel plan it held up far better than some alternatives I’ve tried.
  4. Yes, it works fine. WhatsApp only needs the SIM to verify the number once. After that, all you need is Wi-Fi.
