"Exit → Apply DTV in Vietnam → Re-enter tourist & wait: legit?
Thanks for the detailed advice and the link, really helpful! I get it now: even if approved while back in Thailand on visa-exempt, I'd still need to exit/re-enter to activate the DTV. So rushing back isn't practical anyway. I'll probably just stay in Vietnam until approval/rejection, much safer. Quick note: I started a new topic with my full situation (agency offering to provide the missing 500k proof + work contract docs). Could you (or others) take a look and share thoughts? https://aseannow.com/topic/1389882-anyone-got-dtv-with-agency-help-on-fundscontract/

Anyone got DTV with agency help on funds/contract?
Hi everyone, I'm planning to travel to Hanoi and want to apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) (remote work / digital nomad category). I work remotely and have been doing so consistently for a while now – my income is stable enough to live normally here with a safety cushion for emergencies. I could handle the application myself, but I don't fully meet the official requirements yet: Proof of 500,000 THB in a bank account (I don't have that much liquid right now). A proper work contract, employment letter, or similar strong proof of remote work (my setup is freelance-ish / recent, so docs are weak). I've contacted several agencies, and one is offering to help by providing the missing documents (especially the bank proof and a "real" work contract or equivalent). Their suggested process: Go to Hanoi, Vietnam. Apply for DTV through them (they handle submission, presumably at the Thai embassy/consulate there). Wait in Vietnam until approval (or rejection). Then return to Thailand on the approved DTV. They haven't given full details yet on exactly what documents they'd provide (e.g., for the "soft power" / workcation / remote work category), but it sounds like they'd supply something to make up for what I lack. Questions for those with experience: Has anyone used an agency like this for DTV (especially from Vietnam/Hanoi) and actually gotten approved? Is this a common/trustworthy practice, or does it often involve fake/altered docs? Even if the documents look "real" on paper, could this still be legitimate, or is it basically fraud? What are the real risks? (E.g., rejection later, blacklisting, issues on future entries/extensions, legal trouble if caught?) Worst case for me seems like losing the application fee (~10,000 THB or whatever they charge + embassy fee), but is it worse than that? I'm hesitant because I've read about fake document schemes for Thai visas leading to big problems (rejections, bans, etc.). Any honest experiences or advice would be really helpful before I decide. Thanks in advance!

"Exit → Apply DTV in Vietnam → Re-enter tourist & wait: legit?
Thanks for the reply, but I think there might be a misunderstanding about what the agency is suggesting (and what I meant). The agency is saying: Exit Thailand (get exit stamp). Enter Vietnam (get entry stamp). Use those stamps as "proof" to submit the DTV application (from Vietnam, presumably via e-visa or embassy). Immediately return to Thailand right after submitting — even before any approval or rejection comes through — using visa-exempt entry (60 days). Then just sit in Thailand on that visa-exempt stay and wait for the DTV e-visa email/approval to arrive later. Their claim is that "whatever happens after submission doesn't matter" because they supposedly only need the exit + Vietnam entry stamps to file it.

"Exit → Apply DTV in Vietnam → Re-enter tourist & wait: legit?
An agency told me it would be okay if I exit Thailand, apply for the DTV from Vietnam, then, even without approval or rejection, return to Thailand on a tourist visa with safety entry and wait for the DTV inside the country. They claim the reason is that they only need to submit my exit stamp/ entry to vietnam from the passport to apply for the DTV, and whatever happens after that doesn't matter. Is this legitimate? (I suspect it's not.)
