hi, if company paused "not open" pay only yearly audit (30k) , no taxes. b married to thai, only 2 employees ( pay social, not actually needed to employ them..) , work permit done in a couple of weeks , if staff quit, no problem for work permit, just get new staff... they can come and check your office address, but rarely... best to use a "lawyer/accountant office" to know all infos , some might take care of the paperwork for you
Here in Hua Hin (Prachuap Khiri Khan) they check if your staff is really working or the company is only fake. Last year they mad an about 1 hour long interview with me and my staff about our business and each job. And they told my staff to report working foreigners who may work without a work permit. So be careful.

The recommended time between the 2 jabs for AstraZeneca is 8 to 12 weeks. This is more than the 4 weeks for the mRNA vaccines. The antibody response is higher when waiting 12 weeks instead of 8 weeks, but you have less protection between the shots. So what you want?
I got my first AZ in July and have the wait until October, too.
But anyway, I won’t change my habits for the next 6 months.

Thailand is truly amazing is all I can say. Let's see if my date for the vaccination on the 24th of This month is honored.
Mine is 9th of July...

I registered Tuesday in Market Village Hua HIn. My appointment for the jab is beginning of July.

I would prefer a mRNA vaccine, but it will probably take months until we get it here in Thailand. The last few weeks, I started to collect information about all these vaccines which are available in Thailand. My conclusions is, that every vaccines is better than no vaccine at all. So I registered yesterday. I will need another shot next year, anyway. I think/hope that then more vaccines are available and you will be able to choose.

I enjoy Songkran the more traditional style on the countryside. This year we (the kids) enjoyed in Khao Tao with the locals, which was also very nice.
I don't splash water but use the blessing style.
I also don't like the big water battles which have no more in common with the spirit of Songkran.

IF the infrastructure in the Philippines was Thai standard I'd be gone in a flash (nicer people, more polite, less nationalistic, English speaking etc.)
And don't forget the high risk of natural catastrophes in the Philippines!

Can you locate the phone via iCloud? You also should be able to lock and erase the phone and label it as stolen.
But this needs a correct setup of the phone. I recommend everybody to use the features, as the 2-step verification for iCloud.
So a stolen phone is useless for the thieve. If he brings it to a shop, the technician will see that phone was stolen.

Sometimes - »people at the right position» - can fix a problem in the passport. But it would be very expensive, indeed.

Why do you not legally apply for a one-year visa?

The official Apple stores in Thailand (iStudio, iBeat) offers an insurance for new mobile devices. It costs about THB 700 and covers damage and loss.
A good screen protection and case helps alot. My iPhone 6 Plus survive already some drops. But you should take care of your expensive device and then the risks are low...

If me I would wait a little to give the NEW Toyota the once over.
Hoping the new Toyota is also technical new. The current models have quite old engines, transmission and chassis. But Toyota has still the best resell value. Why not look at a second-hand model from Toyota SURE?
Our family uses a Mazda BT-50, because we a «Mazda Family». The new Nissan looks great and seems technical to be up to date. Isuzu seems to be good, too. Chevrolet has a bad reputation in Thailand.
Ford had a chassis problem with the Ranger (rusting). The Ford Ranger and the Mazda BT-50 shares the same technology with the exception of the frame and the rear suspension (Mazda is softer).

For my first Thambun Baan about 15 guests stay for some days in my 2 bedroom house. We cleared the living room and verybody slept well on their mats. They also had no problems to share a single bathroom.
I was very concerned, first - but it was very easy. The guest made their own journeys or prepared/bought their meals. My only duty was to finance the food and beverage, of course.
But it was worth the investment, because the whole family is very loyal and helpful in many occasions.

Try https://www.fiverr.com if you don't need a certificated translation.
I have them used quite a lot and they are cheaper than local translation services.

The H-1 minibus is very popular in Thailand. We own one and it is a great family mover for the travelling to my Thai relatives in the Isaan. Wie are living in Hua Hin and the nearest dealer is located in Bangkok... But the service is good.
I always look at the other typen when waiting for the service than. The Elantra looks very good, far more better than the equivalent Honda and Toyota models. I also take a look at the Tucson, but it is too expensive. We have then chosen the new CX-5 (Diesel) for or all-day family car.

I also can recommend AIS. We use the many years, first in Bangkok and now in Hua Hin. We have monthly contracts with 3G Internet.

The King's family own a big area in Khao Tao, called Hat Sai Yai, where they often visit. It is a kind of large vacation home.AH: What palace kao tao ????
The Klai Kangwon Palace is located in central Hua Hin. I assume, that the mention hills are opposite of the palace.

Hua Hin is of course a very good place to stay!
I bought a house here in 2008 and I am living here now since 3 years. We are located in Khao Tao, about 15 kilometres south of Hua Hin.
Since 2008, Hua Hin has made a big jump in infrastructure and it getting better and better. The drawbacks are the higher living costs and the traffic jams during the weekends. Hua Hin is one of the favourite weekend destinations for the middle class and up Bangkok Thais.
The land prices are more than four times higher now, too.
There are a wide range of rental houses here, as other already mentioned. But a good pool villa should be found from 50 kTHB per months on.

Nexus products are unfortunately officially not available in Thailand. Some months ago, I saw low-spec Nexus 7 in a Tesco Lotus for sale. I assume, this was an exception.
I wouldn't recommend Chinese tablets. They are «cheap» in every way. Look for top brands like Samsung or Sony, when you really want to enjoy your tablet. But don't expect a bargain.
Banana IT offers 7-8" tablets from Acer and Lenovo starting at THB 6,000, but I don't know these products. A Samsung Galaxy Tab4 8" is mentioned with THB 11,500 - not fare away from a iPad Mini Retina (THB 13,400)...
-
I strongly recommend to buy in Thailand. It is easier and cheaper at the end.

Foreigner can't legally buy and own a house in Thailand.
Only option her name.
Disadvantage, she dumps you and keeps the house, which happens to a surprising number of foreigners with long term relationships the moment they move back to Thailand.
If she already owns a house in Thailand, why not live there?
Foreigners can legally own a house - but not land.
Register your marriage in Thailand. In case of a divorce, all things bought/owned in Thailand will be shared 50%-50%.

Playboy is primarily know in Thailand as a (very popular) fashion brand. Most of the Thais don'y know its origin. So don't expect anything, if a woman has this sticker on her car...!
My spouse also had such a sticker on her car - until I told her for what Playboy is known by Western men... ;-)
Many Thais wear T-Shirts with English expressions and don't know the meaning. Stickers and logos are often only fashion/decoration and have no relevance to the ideas or opinion of the people.

Keeping the Thai family name is an advantage when living in Thailand.

Bangkok was that in the past. But then they sacrificed all the canals for streets.
