  It's very difficult when she doesn't have any knowledge of English to start at a boarding school. She needs to catch up and that's only possible in her free time.

  Watching cartoons/movies without Thai subtitles helps a lot.

WWA is clearly the better school. If she's not much of a student and you don't plan on making much of a "donation" then maybe not. Many of the girls go on to top ten universities. 

 

SHC I'm not entirely certain they board outside EP but it's very possible. It's an OK school. The best of the EP girls will land a few spots at Chula. The Thai side is pretty weak but I'm sure it's way better than 95% of what's upcountry. They get a few hrs English weekly outside of EP.

 

If you can get into SHC a bonus is all or most girls in dorms are in EP program. So some of it might run off. Girls in EP are from better families. Education isn't bad in EP it's just not great. SHC is not expensive especially Thai side. No idea about the boarding.

 

EP girls do OK at SHC. Chula, Thammasat, Kasetsart for the more ambitious. Rich, lazy girls go to ABAC.

 

Prolly both compete for seats at KMUTT it's been really moving up in ranking.

 

Start thinking about university now.

Hi, I was just wondering if there are any requirements every 90 days when doing a border bounce for Non O visa (marriage) by land? Any cash required or marriage certificate? thank you

My friend needs to do a border bounce from Khon Kaen, I heard there is an international bus that goes from KK to Savannakhet and if you have a visa for Laos and a visa to get back into Thailand, you can use the same bus to the border and back to KK again. Is there a template for the last day of work letter somewhere so that I can get the school to sign it?

Will I have problems at the airport immigration if I try to leave without a re-entry permit? Will they ask for proof of cancelled work permit?

if I can't get the letter and try to leave for a tourist visa, will that cancel my visa / work permit and not cause any problems for my future Non B and work permit?

Looking for suggestions for the easiest place to get a Tourist Visa. I don't mind flying or but I don't want to hang around too long if possible. Prefer not showing a flight leaving Thailand as I hope to convert to a Non B at some point.

Yes, they write non-O on the extension.

The most important thing you will need from the school is a letter stating your last day of work. You can cancel the work permit yourself.

Is you job going to in the same province where you teaching now? If not it will complicate changing to a new employer.

The fact that you have been extending a non-o visa entry changes nothing. What was the non-o based upon? If married to a Thai that could make things a little easier.

Your new employer would have to apply for work permit for you and obtain a work permit application letter.

Then you could go to immigration with the letter from the school on before your last date of work to have your current extension cancelled. As soon as that is done you would apply for new extension with supporting documents from your new employer and the work permit approval letter.

After the extension is done you would cancel your work permit and the new one could be issued.

I'm currently working for a school and would like to give 1 month's notice so that I can start working for a Thai company.

I have a feeling the school is not going to make things easy so I want to be able to do this myself if possible. I've read on another topic that I can cancel my own work permit without any documents from the school, is that correct?

My visa is a Non-O and the school has been extending it for the last 3 years or so. So I assume, the extension will finish if I stop working? Or is a Non-O a special case?

If I have to leave as soon as I turn in my work permit, where would be the best/easiest/cheapest place to get a tourist visa?

I understand from a previous topic that I can transfer the tourist via to a Non-B although it's a little more complicated than getting a non B outside the country?

Also, where can I find a list of documents that I would need to get a Non B outside Thailand? I am the first foreign employee at the Thai company so I'm sure they will need some help learning about the process involved.

I was due to do my 90 day reporting on April 4 but was out of the country and got back April 18.

Was the 90 days reset to the day I re-entered (April 18) or am I overdue and should expect a fine when I report?

Also, if the 90 days was reset to April 18, when should I go in and report?

She has a website with an e-commerce plugin. She collects payment from Paypal and withdraws to her Thai bank account.

Can anyone advise on the steps required to register the business? Costs involved? etc.

I prefer that she gets her paperwork in order rather than the government knocking on her door asking for unpaid taxes.
