  1. I read a brief play-by-play and there was no mention of any knock downs. Boring...<yawn>

Happy I never got up and made the 30km motorbike journey to closest bar with UBC.

  2. I offered my tg 5,000 if she could lick her elbow. didn't mention that it was impossible. she was SO determined. should have recorded it. have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard. she tried every which way. jammed herself up against the sofa with her arm in a weird angle using her leg to push her elbow closer to her tongue. lol

  3. Family friend has a daughter and wants to know how spell her Thai name in English.

I'm new to Thailand so not sure how the phonetics go!!

  4. Watching the television station channel 7 icon in bottom corner.

Story showed man clime attena tower and job off with rope tied to his neck. Got to see him free fall, and stop hanging from the rope, got to see another dude cut him down, big crowed was watching his ordeal.

GF says that he was married and wanted to divorce and go with mia noi. Wife wouldn't let so he got angry and tried to kill himself by climbing 20-30 feet and jumping.

GF says news didn't say if he survived :o

Freaked me out that they'd show that on TV here when the block out cleavage.

  5. Get everything in writing, email. When employers call me, I get all the information on the phone. I then say, "Can you email me all the details pay, schedule, etc" This way I have a written copy and there is no problems with communication. Check all details from email before going in for interview. Make sure contract follows what was discussed on phone and email.

If pay isn't where I want it. Ask for more. Highlight qualifications and experience. If they say "no", then say sorry but I was getting paid that amount at my old job. If they still say "no", forget them. Fortunately, I am not absolutely desperate for money..

It's up to us the teachers to grow the salaries. I doubt the Thais are going to sit down and say, "We've been paying our farangs XXXX for the last 5 years, it's time they got a raise."

The victim attitude of the farang teachers here is not helping wages.

  6. Is it possible to connect 2 TVs to 1 UBC decoder and watch separate channels?

My friend purchased a new UBC decoder today and the staff at the local UBC office said it was possible. My friend is French with little English and the staff are Thai so I am sure there was some info lost in translation.

I went over to have a look at his instruction manual and there is nothing in there about having 2 TVs hooked up to 1 decoder. My friend raised a good point, why is it that in hospitals or hotels they only have 1 satellite dish but they have several TVs that can watch separate channels... ?
