  1. Just a slightly different slant to this subject, have just read the notes re application, and maybe I have missed something .. What documents to I have to enclose for a renewal of a 6 yr old childs passport, do they have to be originals or will copies suffice...Any help and advice welcome please... Thanks

  2. Renewing my childs Uk passport via Hong Kong and reading the notes on the countersigning of photos, there are many rules which are very difficult to comply with ( countersignee must live in Uk etc etc ).

Anybody know if the rules are different for expats here or any information on who can sign in this country.

    Thanks

  3. Not sure if this has already been covered as I have been out of the country for a month. Got stopped yersterday on Skvt Road on my motor bike. No problem I thought, I have my driving licence, I have my tax disc, I have my insurance...Silly me....now you have to have a copy of your green book with you. Funny it was mainly us white skins they were stopping as Thais were driving by 4 on a bike none over 15 on their mobiles no helmets etc etc etc....Sorry rant over...So be warned copy of green book required ( bet it will be the wrong page or printed on the wrong coloured paper ):whistling:

  4. Nalak - where did you get your affirmation to marry? Who endorsed it? Or are you telling me you filled it out and went direct to the District Office and they accepted it without question?

I got married last week and got my freedom to marry paper done here in Pattaya at the British Consulate in Jomtien but had to go to the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Bangkok to get it certified....so not ALL the paperwork has to be done in Bkk :D

That's if you are from the U.K. - how long do it take for affirmation paper done here?

Other nationalities here who still have to have ALL paperwork done in Bangkok.

It takes about one hour and that is including the translation next door in Key Visa.....Its lucky i was from the UK then... :)

The importers of all Blackthorn products ( even NATCH ) into Thailand are Apple honey Cider...they are siuated between Klang and Tai on Sukhumvit on the left hand side right next to the Universe Gym...the couple that own it are Carl and Selina Lovett from Bristol...contact no. 0868498923. Much better prices than any of the supermarkets....Proper Job my 'andsom.... :)

  7. On a sombre note, some info please. Was told last night ( maybe bar-room bullsh*t ) that even if you are a long term resident here, if you die here without being married you cannot be cremated here and the British Embassy steps in, takes over and your body is shipped back to UK. Is this the case ? Any info please....not that I am planning on shuffling off just yet !!!

  8. My UK passport is full and I have to get a new one, I have a non o visa. I am going to embassy in Bkk next week to apply for a new one. Will I have to go to Thai Immigration to transfer the o visa or will they accept the old passport as proof of visa. The visa is only valid untill the end of may. I have already booked my flight to return to UK to renew my visa. Any experiences or advice would be much appreciated....Thanks in advance...

When you give the Embassy your old passport you will fold over the page with the Visa on. They cut the corners of the pages so the one you folded will still be uncut and valid. (Or they did when I changed)

Immigration will not transfer Visas only permition to stay stamps. So carry both passports.

    Thanks for your help

  10. How hard can it be to locate the driver :o

Go to the company, ask who was driving and where he lives, then go kick his door in. :D

Not exactly rocket science is it, specially if inspector clueless here can work it out :D

Took you 30 mins to figure that one out :D

    RIP to the victim

    Explorer

Problem is that very often the company doesn't actually know who is driving what truck when. This is exacerbated by the fact that truck drivers often share their shifts with brothers, friends etc.

Tragic, RIP to the girl and condolences to het family and friends.

I understand that the boy on the motor bike was travelling the wrong way down Sukhumvit Rd against the flow of traffic ????

  11. Tomorrow I have volounteered to go and pick up my mates car which he has parked at the airport while he was out of the country for a couple of days. Thankyou...

  12. This might be of assistance.....ITS GOT A MASSIVE NOKIA SIGN ON IT !!!!.....just a thought... :o

I have a Nokia slider phone that half the buttons have gone dead on so needs some TLC.

The following address is from the Nokia TH website:

    353/43 หมู่ที่ 9 ถ.สุขุมวิท ต.หนองปรือ อ.บางละมุง จ.ชลบุรี 20260 (ริม ถ. สุขุมวิท ก่อนถึงแยกพัทยากลาง)

Anyone able to give a specific location for this on Sukhumvit? Between what intersections and what side?

    Many thanks,
