It wouldn"t take too much to mark all rr crossings, stop signs, cross walks, etc. In smart phone gps that would cut out the phone  100 yards radius of marks. When I picked up my IDL at AAA in the USA, they just asked me if I wanted the motorcycle endorsement on it even though I did not have it on my regular license. That was a few years ago. I said yes and the IDL worked fine in LOS for scooter rental and the fund raising traffic check points.

Your daughter squandered her opportunity. If she wants to attend school at a later date, you can make tuition payments directly to the school.

Your daughter may love you but she didn't respect you. Being a concerned parent leads to rewards but not always. Sometimes you let go and hope for the best. Don't enable further bad behavior. You're to far away to monitor anything and even if you lived next door, reasoning with an 18 yo young women is an art with few masters. Best wishes...........

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for big pharma. My wife is an internist and our substantial income is heavily linked to pharmaceuticals. Of course some chemo drugs make herion seem a bargain and your right about producing good shit. Morphine is often the answer to the question,"Can't you give him/her something?"

You should be concerned about Uncle Noi keeping a close watch on your children around his swimming pool. That seems like the most dangerous aspect of leaving the kids for the weekend and the possibility they may get spoiled if that is an issue. Your fortunate to have a close relative that your wife trusts leaving the kids with and that the kids might look forward to spending time with.

Although, if Uncle Noi turns out as beautifull as Bambina, your wife could end up sharing joint custody of the kids with her own brother and you!

Unfortunately children of Islam are force fed this kind of stilted propagnda early on about any other religion or way of thinking. Brainwashing is obviously pretty effective in many cases. I appreciated Buddhism when I was in Thailand because my questions were politely answered and nothing was shoved down my throat as being the best and only way. Kinda refreshing.

Lots of good advice I think. You shoud also make sure the battery cable ends and terminals are clean. This often causes problems. I put a new battery in my Datsun once and had to replace it in a short time because the alternator was overcharging and fried the battery. It had a bad regulator that didn't cut back the field current so charged full bore all the time which destroyed the battery. I Replace the alt. and the battery and had no more problem. Sitting for months at a time without use is hard on a battery because they "grow stuff" on the plates which shortens their life even though you don't use them. You can buy a trickle charger with a maintenance cycle to leave on the battery when you let it sit for long periods to prevent this from happening. Replace the belt also. They can stretch and wear beyond the limits of the adjustment slots to allow re tensioning them.

Your starter could need replacing. Sometimes when the bearings are worn the armature will drag and it seems like your battery is down. Often it cranks fine cold but when the engine heat warms it up after you run a while then the armature drags due to heat expansion.. Let is sit and cool a while and it starts fine again (carry cold beer or go to pub). Your alternator could be undercharging due to reg. problem or bad diode etc. The other possibilities are low electrolyte (overcharching or bad cell), voltage leaks(trunk light stuck, bad alt. reg. etc.), or bad electrical Karma. Take it to a shop. Sometimes parts supply stores will check alternator output and battery condition for free. Good luck.

PS... Whenever you buy a vehicle, buy a repair manual that covers your make and model year. Usually only $20-$30 and full or how-to and trouble shooting info. with lots of pictures.

Maybe you should talk to yourself first. If these guys have been working for you and you made sure they got paid even 1/4 of what painters get paid in the USA, they could have easily bought their own motorcycle and had a GF on the back also. Be sure to tell them not to drive drunk and wear a helmet when you give them their new bikes! You're probably doing pretty good flipping condos.

Hi! I (a farang from Canada) have a Thai girlfriend in Udon Thani who I have been sending money to on a monthly basis. She is quite satisfied with this arrangement, but her very wealthy sister in Washington, D.C. expects that I should be paying for all of my girlfriend's expenses such as a new car, a new motorcycle, an airconditioner and so on. The sister has explained that it is the Thai custom for the boyfriend to pay all expenses for the girlfriend prior to marriage. By the way, this will be the second marriage for my girlfriend, and she has one son. Is the sister correct? Is it a Thai custom for a boyfriend to pay everything before marriage to his girlfriend? The sister in Washington, D.C. thinks that I should be sending around 40,000 baht a month, which seems rather steep.

This custom, if true, is news to me. From my experience, most of the Thai men who married had little money, and poor jobs and the Thai girlfriends did not expect the man to pay all expenses. And the farangs that I know who have become engaged to Thai women do not pay everything for their Thai fiancees. So far, I am resisting the pressure to send more money than I already am on the basis that my girlfriend and her son do not become my full responsibility until we are married. Consequently, the sister in Washington is advising my girlfriend to 'finish with this Canadian'!

Sounds like you have been letting yourself get screwed to much. Right now your in Canada screwing yourself probably. Why pay anything for that? Thailand is awash with beautiful single moms that will love you. Pick one without a sister like this. How was this woman staying alive before you started feeling sorry for her? They want your money, not you. I think you should stop sending money now. The stoeck market just went down and you have money problems now. Tell her you still love her and see is she says the same. You need to read more about Thai/Farang family dynamics etc. before getting involved to the point of marriage. Let this one go, feel the pain and move on. 40k a month will pay the rent on several decent houses! Don't be a chump any longer. Take a weekind at Whistler and think about how humid and hot it is in LOS now.Think about poisoness snakes and noisy neighbors and no legal rights and visa hassles and endless bloodsucking. Do you really need to feel like a third-world superhero? If you do, gor for it! Great place to visit though.
