  1. Just come back from Pattaya.

The city looks more like a ghosttown then a tourist place.

I wonder how many business gonna survive this.

Royal garden and Mike shopping mall gonna feel the pinch from Central.

    Hardly any people theyr...

  2. If i walk around in Pattaya, i ask myself, how dead can a place be? It looks more to a ghosttown then to a tourist place! And yes people feel that tourist are rare, but sadly they don't understand that you have to cherish the few, who are still spending money!

  3. I think it has to do with a lack of interest, and not with skills.

Everything on radio and tv in the Kingdom is for nearly 99,9% in Thai language. They dubbing all the movies.Exept who's working in the tourism industry, the majority of the people here have hardly any contact with the English grammar!

  4. Think you should check out this theory about farangs wearing the same clothes for a day ,maybe you are doing this and think all farangs are the same.

I have minimum 5 showers a day/evening and every time i change clothes, albeit, singlet, shorts, unless i go out. This is a hot country and to suggest we dont change clothes everyday is mindblowing.you must have some dirty friends.

So you change 5X times a day clothing? Perhaps you need you're own private laundry shop :o

  5. There's indeed a problem with Africans in Bangkok.

They hang arround Pantip, Robinsons, Supermarkets and the Nana area.

They try to make contact with western tourists, mostly the single travellers.

Its gooing on allready a few years.

Good advice, Do not get involved with them.

Thai people know about it, but they don't seem to care, because its not theyr problem!

  6. Will there be a way to apply for the 2000 baht a day we were offered ?

I am back in the USA now ,

I paid my hotel bill before I left but got a seperate receipt for the days I was a "hostage"

How do I do it ?

    thanks

    Dave

Theyr whas a list of hotels at the TAT website.

Those hotels( Amari, Ambassador etc) where, or free of charge or deducted 2000 baht on you're bill.

That whas the procedure. Some hotels told guests to keep theyr receipts.

So they would get it paid back, but whas wrong information.

  7. "why those beautiful thai women will fall for us,farangs"

    1) Good thai guys...are not handsome

    2) Handsome thai guys ...are bad

    3) Good thai guys, with good looking... are all married

    4) Good, handsome thai bachelors...are not high calibered

    5) Good, handsome, rich thai bachelors...they look down upon us

    6) Good, handsome, rich thai bachelors - who are interested in us...are all playboys

    AND..

    7) Good, handsome, rich thai bachelors - who are interested in us...that are not playboys........are gays

After been watching too many asian movies, many buckets of tear, and countless trips to the bathroom...those are why the girls so into us, HAN-SUM farangs.

One of the above should apply to you! :o

i notice the beautiful thai girls dont go for farangs!

    Sad, but true!

  8. just fyi... gold jewelry went out of style right around October of 1997. see what platinum or white gold can do for your disposition :o

Yes, gold went out of style arround '97, when the mobile phone whas introduced.

  9. Wynne or Wyn is a Welsh name, i'm surprised that hitting someone made it into the newspaper.

I know of a Farang who hit a Thai girl in broad daylight in Soi Yamoto December the BiB caught him and all he had to do was pay her some compensation, he hasnt had a slap since unfortuantely.

I once saw a thai man hitting his wife with a chair repeatetly on her head(in soi yamato btw), an guess what, no police, no thai interference what so ever.....Nothing! Thai style!

  10. I been living in Pattaya for 3 years and I just spend 10 days on vacation here in Miami (US), and let me tell you. With 2 daily killings and 8-15 daily muggings, Pattaya is safe paradise compared to here. I even heard gunshots walking down the super expensive South Beach (Colins Avenue).

I used to think Pattaya was becoming more and more hardcore, but once you been to US you will understand that Pattaya is safe like a church compared to here.

Next week I go to L.A. and I just read that they had 32 murders last month alone, so happy holliday to me :o

How can you compare a world city like L.A. with a (small)town like Pattaya.....?
