  1. Try having a look at Central World, they're several shoe shops that should have those sizes. Charles & Keith is one of my favs, they have some larger sizes as well. If that doesn't work out, try going to Ballet, across the street from Central World, I think it's on the 1st floor of Naraipan building. They do custom made shoes that aren't too expensive and they're comfortable too. (from past experience) Good luck!

  2. You can find some at MBK around the 2-3 floor, they have it in different colors as well. I can't remember the shop's name but it was near and on the same floor as The Pizza Company. Good luck!

Oh my gawd shopgurl where have you been? lol.

Do you know where I can buy knock-offs (bags) in Bangkok?

I've been living in Thailand for over 10 years and have also worked in the Retail industry for the past 6 years. What's wrong with MBK anyways? It's not only a place for knock-offs (which I don't buy and encourage), but if you look at the right shops you might be able to find something nice - especially air conditioned and convenient. Otherwise if you want to spend more, take a look in Central World's Isetan where they have them.

  3. I would say research the market, there's a lot more shops that are catering to various sizes and styles. LaSenza is a shop you should check out, it's at Central World and they have a good collection but sometimes they may have only a small quantity of sizes for each style. But I do agree that there is need for educating the modern women on how to choose a bra. And for the sales ladies, I think it's really up to your luck, I met some that really did know their stuff but the problem was that in the Thai market of bras, they're ALL PADDED!!! I mean I'm for enhancing your clevage but it ain't clubbing everyday (well for me anyways). Well would love to give more ideas, my friend and I were thinking about the same business venture but there's a lot more than just offering what the market wants, there's things like production if you're planning to do your own line. Hope this helped. Good luck!

  4. I go to Khun Koi, she makes house calls and is very affordable. My husband and I both get waxing done and it's less than 1,000 baht for both of us. Really nice lady and you can ask for your own wax as well. Mobile phone: 0818467828

  5. Hello, I'm working on my company's website, using very basic programming lingo for Frontpage since I have very little experience learning from a course I took. I've been searching the internet and can't get simple instructions for the following:

    - how to do links to the bigger image when clicking on the little image of it

    - how to make a link after clicking open in another new window

Thank you in advance for the help, really and greatly appreciated!

  6. It was awful, went with my hubbie and daughter to watch Pirates of the Carribean this past Tuesday and saw this trailer, I didn't have enough hands to cover both my ears and eyes!!!!!!

Well I don't find it appropriate for children especially the ads around

town, there have been times when it's even more gory than this current baby flick. Can't they make more romantic comedies or something???

  7. Honestly, I don't really feel any unfair or mistreatment due to my gender unless being counted out from a business dinner due to the choice of venue i.e. pc way of putting it..men spas-which I don't mind at all.

Seriously...from personal experience, I think the major companies in Bangkok practice respectful professionalism, hiring on basis beyond gender. They look more into your competency and credentials before anything else but maybe I have been lucky to have encountered such.

Being Thai/Chinese/American woman, I don't think there's anything or anyone that is holding me back...well except maybe myself. I firmly believe that you are treated on how you treat others. Of course you're always going to run into people that try to demoralize you but that isn't really restricted to gender, people are always going to question why some are lucky than others. The matter of equality then becomes more of an acrimonious label in which people put in front of themselves in fear of trying to attain what they want.

Thailand going towards the same path as the west? I hope not, if we're talking about infrastructure and overall well-being for our citizens then of course but if we're talking about cold, harsh, or disrespectful business practices, definite no. I still love the gregarious ways of doing business here although I admit that it can be painstaking at times but it builds character, you might say...

Not sure if that answered your question Naomisri?

  8. Dear All,

Latest update from Patong, I had asked the Deputy Director of Patong Hospital about how the money is being allocated and I would like to inform you of the following allocations:

    - As of now the hospital is treating all tsunami victims at no charge

    - Money for the family to cover the transport of the deceased

    - Proper coffin and burial for unidentified deceased

    - Money for foreigners admitted that have lost their belongings

    - All donations of staple items are being handed out everyday at the hospital

This is the info I have now and will try to update more later on in the day.

I would give this advice to those who are interested in coming down to help in Phuket, although we do need all the help we can get but I would suggest to contact your local embassy and inquire whether your services can be best put to use in Bangkok or Phuket. For those that have planned to come down, on your arrival please contact City Hall (Sala kang) to be given a proper posting at the need places/hospitals since City Hall is the center of all operations currently.

One more, please inform anyone needing to search for names to go here, it is the most consolidated as of now:

Lastly, I just wanted to take this time to extend my appreciation to all of those that have contributed both financially and mentally. I hope you all have a safe new year's and all the best to all of you and your loved ones.

    Best regards,

    Annie

  9. Wednesday/Thursday/Friday Recommended Intinerary

    * Bed Supperclub (Sukhumvit soi 11-looks like a big hovering spacey box), hop in for a nice meal on the restaurant side and then cruise over to the club side, Thursday suggested if you're into HipHop/R&B.

    * Silom Soi 4:

    - Tapas, chill out tunes

    - Home, HipHop/R&B/Pop

    - Speed, HipHop/R&B/Pop

You can also pop in and out of each club around there if you get bored.

    * Khaosan Road

    - Silk Bar, great place to chill and watch the interesting people and world go by.....

Loads an loads of clubs to pop in and out of as well.

Only recommended if you really want to see where the real, mainstream, young Thais hang out...

    * Thonglor (Sukhumvit soi 55), bunch of clubs to hop around as well....

    Have fun!

  10. Are the local hospitals geared up for this?

    - Usually local hospitals would not accept blood donations unless there is a request from patients on-going at that time but you can call and check the hospital to confirm this.

Will they keep our own blood?

    - I'm not sure about what you're asking here but I think they would keep it after tests have been done to insure safety in the event of stds or other diseases.

Do they only let donations on given days?

    - You can contact the Red Cross over at Lumpinee 022524106-9

Blood donations can be given every 3 months and plasma every 14 days. I believe they are open daily. There are also mobile units that go around to schools and office buildings, very convenient, my last 3 times were done from my office building. You can contact them and ask for the schedule.

Can you trust them to use NEW needles?

    - With the Red Cross I trust them and you can have a look when they change the needle whether it's from a new package or not.

Have any of you had the need for blood or blood products?

    - Need for blood no but I did get some pills to take after donating blood.

How about a EMERGENCY DONOR LIST ON THAI VISA ?

    - Honestly haven't donated yet usually since I learn about it too late.

  11. I'd recommend a plain white l/s shirt, not too baggy and not too "bravo channel" :o tight!, pair this up with your khakis or jeans and some classic black shoes.

Definitely a no-no for shorts, pedal pushers, or any hawaiian inspired-like shirts for evenings.

    Good luck! :D
