  1. Thank you Taxexile for your reply.

In addition, the reason for this interest of mine is also because I'm a Thai woman - born here, raised in the States.  And from my own experience I have been confronted by foreign men in our local bar scene but as soon as they hear that I speak perfect English, it's like garlic and vampires.....

What my point really is, I just feel that Thai women (whether be it bar girls, call girls, working girls, Thai girls) should deserve more respect as women of substance and not because of the generalization/foreign belief of 'come to Thailand and get yourself a nice Thai lady to take care of you....'

But I'm guessing we have a long way to go.........

  2. I am not in any way discriminating or generalizing but I really would like to know what is the facination with bar girls.

Apparently this seems to be one of the most posted topic, therefore I would like to understand such relationships.

Is it the submissive nature of these women that allures foreign men, or am I wrong and that these relationships are really formed through a undescribable latent connection?

  3. I don't know, I would say I'm for it.  Take some parts of Europe where prostitution is legalized, with the right regulations and guidelines for maintaining both sanitary/hygenic conditions and as well as outlining the rights of those who partake in the business-both direct in indirectly or discreetly.  It's certainly a far better choice then keeping it in the dark and assuming that it isn't part of this country and making guys like that Choowit dude richer.

One's body, one's mind, one's right to choose......

  4. I'm sorry if this may come off as rude but what is this facination with bar girls?  How much they make, who they date, whether to date them, whether to marry them, whether to look at them, whether to think if you should look or date them, etc....

I mean do forums in other countries have questions regarding hookers and what they make (well probably not a valid question to put as an example...) but what difference does it make?

  5. As for the weather in December, it's still the same sun I believe so sunscreen should always be of good use and protection no matter what season.  SPF 45 will do just fine.  Although try to stay in during the peak hours, 10am - 1pm where the sun rays are the most harmful.

And no need to worry, Clinque is widely available here.  But sometimes there are cases where they don't bring some products but as for suncreen it should be availabe there.  And if you really did have to go anywhere far, then the nearest bet is Bangkok.

  6. Yes definitely check out the scene at Q Bar, always something up there or try out Ministry of Sound right near by. (along the Sukhumvit Road, accessible by BTS skytrain but you might need to take a cab in for QBar)

I really think you wouldn't be missing much if you skipped soi cowboy, patpong or nana...unless both of your preferences are girlee bars (no offence)....but head out to Silom soi 4 (near Patpong) for a taste of the local clubbing scene.  But as for Nana, there is the sheesha places that are interesting.

And if you get the time, as for night time shopping check out Lumpinee Nite Bazaar and for Sunday check out Chatchuchak Weekend Market (accessible by BTS skytrain, Mor Chit Station).....

Do all the necessary clubbing and shopping in Bangkok and RELAX, take in some massages, som tum, etc... on the beaches of Phuket will be the perfect vacation, well unless if you run into George Jr....(just kidding)!!!!

  7. To Steve,

Thanks so much for your input and no need to apologize, appreciate your views on this greatly.

What you have stated above is honestly exactly the implications that me and my business partners have discussed but in all aspects, we agree that we are venturing into unchartered territory but as they say: "Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you don’t risk anything, you won’t gain anything."

I truly believe that there is a viable market out there (how many times have you said to yourself, "hmmm I wonder where I can get someone to arrange this party for me without the hassle of doing it myself?" or "Or why can't I just rent a darn costume for this darn party!!").  Even with the most minuscle of chances, discouraging such possibilities with the generalization that Thailand is not ready is not acceptable I believe.

Call me an optimist maybe but aren't there still possibilities?

If you're still interested in this idea yourself, would you consider a possible partnership?
