I think the utter chaos is a bigger issue than the delay itself. You're told to register somewhere, you do that, then you hear nothing and they close registrations (Vimut, CRA). A Mor Prom app that can only be used with Pink ID card. Then a government registration site that is first unusable, then found to be leaking data and shut down.
Yep, i registered with the Mor Prom app which has been sending daily updates but I'm not expecting to be vaccinated before October at earliest & when it happens it will be a private hospital administering it I'd imagine, at a cost. We're bottom of a big pile.

really?? you know a couple of Myanmar workers are currently in a Thai jail rotting away for something they most likely didn't do, but I guess that's funny to you!

70 deaths per day on average on Thai roads, the majority of which are caused by recklessness, selfishness, stupidity. Innocents die. Nothing changes????

I was at an unnamed disco on Saturday. Extremely crowded, temperature taken on arrival and phone number of my girlfriend. Inside apart from the staff nobody wearing masks! Social Distancing a complete joke with people dancing and kissing. Disco probably provides a very large brown envelope. Left at 4AM.
I take it you enjoy Russian roulette & eating hospital food.
You really need to give yourself a shake buddy.

Nothing new with that. It´s the requirement since they started granting entry again. Has been in threads before.
If you understand why is not relevant at all. You just have two choices. Comply with the requirements and get your visa. Reunite with your wife and kids. Or you can just refuse and stay home. Sorry, I know it´s rock hard to post like this, but that´s the cold hard facts.
The PRE, note pre Covid-19 testing prior to application for the COE is new.
It is a new requirement of the Royal Thai embassy in NZ which they divulged late on Friday in a reply email after enquiring as to the status of my application.
Yes I understand why tests are required 72 hrs before flights.
I don't understand why Covid-19 tests are required to post an APPLICATION for the COE but concede after 20 years living in the Kingdom I do understand well how it rolls.
I did the test yesterday, 7000thb. It's costly, time consuming and needlessly putting strain onto many, imo. I don't understand the need at this initial stage.

I paid$NZD350/THB7000 yesterday for the swab/ covid test + fit to fly medical to appease the Thai embassy NZ request. I have submitted all other dox incl ASQ booking, health insurance, flight booking (all paid for) details along with letters from my wife, her hospital, my employer, myself, marriage/ birth/ bank certs etc.
Married with children, I'll comply per instruction until repatriated, per statements issued by Thai MoFA.

Please provide evidence from an official source that on application as stated below is required and from when this requirement was introduced:
1 on application
1 72 hours before departure
"Please note that your copies of Covid-free health certificate (item 1.5) and Fit-to-fly health certificate (item 1.6) are required for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand's consideration. Once you. application is approved, you are required to again obtain Covid-free health certificate (item 3.3) and Fit-to-fly health certificate (item 3.4) which must be issued no more than 72 hours before departure."

To the OP I was informed in the last week by a Thai Official in the Embassy where I am that docs rferred to are not required for MoFA consideration so either possibly there is inconsistent information from Embassies or it is a 'new' requirement. Has your application been forwarded to MoFA?
Thanks for this information. I've always been aware each embassy has their own play book, over the last 3 months on periodically requesting answers and updates from the NZ embassy in Wellington I'm told "we will inform you". Sadly they haven't been. I liken their demand of the pre application tests akin to swatting away a bothersome fly.

The UK has just lifted quarantine restrictions for arrivals from 50 or so countries, but Thailand isn't on the list even though it has controlled Covid pretty well.
That says it all eh.

First, I agree that the requirement for health certificates on application is dubious, especially as quarantine is required on entry as well. I can find justifications, but I suspect the real reason is that they want to limit the number applying to only those absolutely determined to return.
I am pretty sure this is a global requirement. The MFA is not willing, at this stage, to vary the rules by country. Possibly, they may look less closely at the health certificates when you are coming from a safe country. There is a decent chance that there will eventually be a travel bubble between New Zealand and Thailand, but I do not get the feeling you want to wait months in the hope it will happen.
EDIT: A possible legitimate justification for health certificates ahead of time is that the MFA wants to ensure they are adequate, on the assumption that the updated certificates before travel will be similar. Dubious, but not completely absurd.
Good positive points, thanks for these.

Yesterday, Friday afternoon I received notice in reply to my email to the Royal Thai embassy enquiring on the status of my application to apply for permission to enable me to apply (yep) for repatriation to my family in Thailand, stating the following new requirement:
"Please submit a copy of the following additional documents to the Royal Thai Embassy as soon as possible: To ([email protected])
- Covid-free health certificate
- Health certificate certifying “fit to fly”**Please note that your copies of Covid-free health certificate (item 1.5) and Fit-to-fly health certificate (item 1.6) are required for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand's consideration. Once you. application is approved, you are required to again obtain Covid-free health certificate (item 3.3) and Fit-to-fly health certificate (item 3.4) which must be issued no more than 72 hours before departure."
The need to obtain covid free and fit to fly certificates 72 hours before flying I fully understand.
Yet I can not fathom why the fit to fly/ covid free documents are now required at the initial COE application stage where I electronically submit all dox required a month or 2 before maybe/ possibly being granted permission to reunite with my wife and kids.
Wondering if this is a requirement from all embassies or only in New Zealand, possibly the safest western nation out there at present.

Strange but true, I find Thai drivers similar to New Zealand ones, generally pleasant, relaxed folk until they get behind the wheel. Too many aggressive drivers in both imo. Per capita Thailand win the championship.

The passport expires however the visa inside the expired passport remains valid, and yes you need to have the new passport in hand also. Does confuse some folk ie bank tellers, one of which suggested i cut my expired passport up????, but works fine generally for me sir. The 5 Yr validity passports were a <deleted> bad idea.
