  1. Thanks, I have a one year multiple entry marriage visa (non O) applied at the Thai embassy in SG. I submitted my bankdetails, marriage certs etc at that time. Now whats not clear is do I still need to go to the immigration office in BKK as you describe with all docs again (these are the same as I submitted in SG) to re apply or do I ony need to report my address.

Ok found my answer on the MFA page.  At the end of the 90-day stay , the foreigner must report to the immigration officer in his or her residence area and report again every 90 days during his or her stay in Thailand.  The foreigner may report to the police station if there is no immigration office in his or her residence area.

  3. Hi, I have a one year multiple entry visa based on Marriage (O) applied at the embassy in Singapore. On entry in Bangkok I got a three months stamp.

Q: do I still need to go to the immigration office in BKK to change it into a Marriage visa.

Q: do I need to leave Thailand and re enter after 90 days or can I report to the immigration office.

Q: next year when current visa expires can I reapply/extend for another year in Thailand or do I need to apply abroad.

    Thanks

  4. Thailand never signed the UN refugee treaty so his refugee status everybody is referring to is as such technically irrelevant from a legal pov.

I find it naive he did not consider this when travelling. He should know as Bahraini his country would wait for its chance to arrest him. I don't say I approve, by now I actually don't know what is true or not anymore. That Thailand now follows its law is imo the most sensible thing to do.

UEFA is a hypocrite, indirectly finger pointing at Bahrain while organizing the world cup in Qatar.

  5. For those who think this is world news, in Europe but even in SG where I live, this is not at all in the news and probably nobody even cares. In principle I agree that Thailand should decide in court to be transparent to all parties. In general, imo it shows a lack of diplomacy that the Aussies play it via the media and publicly put Thai government under pressure. In Asia you often achieve the opposite doing so.

  6. Assuming they could raise salaries they immediately will out price them to surrounding nations and unemployment levels will raise. The only way to create more wealth for everyone is to transition to a knowledge based industry or products with more added value. With an economy based largely on traditional farming that is very difficult. Imo the problem is not that a few have a lot of wealth, we see similar distribution in more wealthier countries (and completely logic). Its more the absence of a proper middle income layer creating a big gap between the 'haves and have nots'. These are often the educated people (doctors, engineers, finance) working for big companies in Bangkok but relative still a huge minority. Education is the best way to get out of the poverty trap and that is what the government should enable and support. Just raising salaries and more freebies only costs money but don't improve the economy and the long term wellbeing of the country.
