Nice scooters. Too bad they are so damn heavy. But at least on a scooter, most of the weight is near the ground compared to a motorcycle.

Interesting that Porsche, among others, put in full-synthetic oil from the very beginning. That would certainly go against the break-in recommendations that I have read on this forum.

A regular padlock through the holes in the disk brake can slow them down a bit.

Do the Thai vehicles have the same OBD2 connector under the dash that the US vehicles have had since 1996? Anyone know?
YES
Thanks John!

UncleJ, which one did you sit on? The Hypermotard or the Hyperstrada? I believe they have different seats, at least in the US they do. Most road tests that I have read online actually praise the seat of the Hyperstrada. I'll be test riding one before I get back to Thailand. Our local (40 miles away) dealer has a demo Hyperstrada.

Today I found and installed
Garmin City Navigator NT Thailand 2013.30Thai and English. It was a bit large (469MB) so I had to delete some of the unused voice and text files to make room for it on my 255W US version.

Hey Guzzi. The main Ducati website does have downloadable sound files.

I have sold two different Aprilia bikes in the last year in the US for my move to Thailand and now have a great appreciation for motorbikes Italiano.

Notice that I put the word "ugly" in quotation marks. To my eyes, it is truly a very beautiful bike. But I have noticed that some persons have expressed the opinion that Ducatis are not styled to their liking. In this thread, I'll not say what I think of the styling of the bikes they like. To each his own.
Thanks again, Nikster.

If you have to tell someone "NO", then say it with a friendly smile.

You cannot get an O-A visa in Thailand.

Thanks Nikster. Something for me to think about. I am out of the country at the moment or I would have checked it out at the Udorn dealership myself. My Thai wife may be getting a new Hyperstrada when I get back!

When I got my O-A visa in the US:
My doctors report was free.
The police report was free.
I sent a recent letter obtained from my bank to verify the required amount of money in my US bank and did not show any income at all.
None of the previously mentioned documents were notarized.
It only took one week for it to show up in my mailbox from the day I sent it. The fee I sent was $200.
This post is not meant to correct any other post in this thread, but just to show what is possible.

My wife had the same issue. She exited Nong Khai on her US passport, then showed her new Thai passport when entering Lao on the other side of the bridge. Then turned around and exited Lao and entered Thailand with the Thai passport. No flying needed in this case.

I believe that the OP is looking for a long and flexible mast to mount a flag on to give his motorbike more visibility. The ham radio antennas that I mentioned are very often 8 feet long and would get the flag up in the air very nicely. Ask for an HF antenna.

I am feeling an irresistible urge to buy one of those "ugly" Ducati Hyperstradas. What is required for the financing other than being able to come up with the 30-45% down payment? Anyone know? I am on a retirement visa.

So it's going to be a CBR286. It would be cooler if they actually gave these new bikes their correct name.
You guys are funny. In the late 60s my Kawasaki 350 was only 338cc and in the early 70s my Suzuki 350 was only 315cc. However, my 1973 Kawasaki 900 was actually 903cc. This rounding off of sizes is not something new. It's always been done. At least with the Nipponese bikes.
-
Anyplace that sells ham radio equipment may be able to get a mobile-mount (vehicle) antenna that would do the trick.

Getting caught riding on one wheel in Florida gets you a $1,000 fine for the first offense and $2,500 fine for the second. The third time will get you a $5,000 fine and the possibility of five years in prison and you will lose your license for 10 years.

Also, these sold for one year in the States at a list price of around $4,450.
The SH150i scooters that were sold in the US were made in Italy.

My TXM is a good bike, but the dealer that sells them in NE Thailand sucks.
