  1. This is probably covered although I heard nothing lately. Has anyone heard (from reliable sources) if it is going to be unlocked anytime soon?

Tomorrow sure, just waiting for Thaksin to call me to confirm details.........

  2. yeah hence why i am asking for advice, especially on talking down a mental patient

oh I thought you were a farang girl talking about self defense...

    :o

  3. I love Thailand. It's my favorite place to play.

But I know know I can only take it for one month or so per year. Although that month is something I look forward to all year round I'm always relieved to step off the plane in San Diego were the weather is just, well, near perfect.

Even back where I was raised all I hear about is everyone complaining about the heat and wicked humidity in Jersey.

Most days in BKK I find I'd take my shower in my nice AC room. Walk out into the hall, the air is already changing. Get down to the lobby it's a little hotter and "muggier."

By the time I get into the cab outside my clean white tennis shirt is soaked and my kakies feel like duct tape on my legs now I get to freeze all the moisture in a taxi refrigerator.

How do you deal with it everyday?

:o Clean white tennis shirt and kakies....do you also like to steal towels in the changing rooms?

  4. as i mentioned earlier the guy who came back to my village from a mental hospital and grabbed a knife from the isaan shop to go waving around at tourists was oblivious to 4 large thai men trying to stop him with shovels and rakes.

argh! i had a feeling this might become a problem! this guy has just moved in next door to me. he has been staring at my house for 3 days, and junps all over me whenever i leave my house asking me to go watch thai boxing with him. not that that is psychotic behavior but i have seen him be so before. tips on dealing with a guy who i am guessing is schizo (sometimes dangerous)?

Self defense for a farang like you in Thailand? Unfortunately if you do decide to defend yourself, you will find yourself in more than a heap of trouble, as you dont live here, your just a guest of the Kingdom, and...the Thai will always win.

  5. A guy sitting at a bar at Heathrow Airport noticed a really beautiful woman

    sitting next to him.

He thought to himself: "Wow, she's so gorgeous she must be an off duty

    flight

attendant. But which airline does she work for?"

Hoping to make her acquaintance, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta

slogan: "Love to fly and it shows?"

She gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediately thought to himself:

"######, she doesn't work for Delta."

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head.

    He leaned towards her again,

    "Something special in the air?"

She gave him the same confused look.

He mentally kicked himself, and scratched Singapore Airlines off the list.

Next he tried the Thai Airways slogan: "Smooth as Silk."

This time the woman turned on him,

"What the ###### do you want?"

The man smiled, then slumped back in his chair, and said

    "Ahhhhh, EasyJet"

  6. 117 THB from BKK to Pattaya, and 113 THB from Pattaya to BKK.

I'm quite sure that's it (and not the other way round :o ). It should take a bit over 2 hours.

I don't remember the baht bus fare, though.

Thanks Elsie! your a babe! ...can't seem to click to see you naked though, sia jai maak.....

    :D

  7. Will be coming to Thailand soon. Everytime I come, I seem to contract this "stomach thing" to some degree.

My question is: what causes it? Is it the water? Is it the ice cubes in your drink at a restaurant? Is it the food, and if so which food? Fish or seafood perhaps?

I'd like to be able to avoid it as much as possible, so if anyone knows what causes it, please let me know.

    Thanks.

I know what you mean, but it is my gf who gets this stomach thing, everytime I come.... :o

  9. From the Times 2nd August.

It is better known for its ancient temples, beautiful beaches and mouth-watering cuisine, but Thailand is also the deadliest destination for British holidaymakers.

TAT slogan for 2008 UK Market " Amazing Thailand. It's reet Deadly "

  10. Met my wife on the 'tinternet 4 years ago, before we met and from afar we always managed a deep and meaningful conversation...for example, discussing the inflated price of smokey-bites in 7-11 followed by an analysis of the Thai Economy. I never banged my head against the wall, not once, as when I finally arrived in Thailand 15 months ago, I realised 7-11 was open 24 hours, and the new cheese-bites were cracking at only 10 baht a peice....

  11. I have been victim many a time to the likes of Thais jumping into the Queue before ones self. Words which spring to mind are Arrogant, rude, bad mannered, poorly educated, annoying, even dare I say, anti-farang? I am not sure? I once told a Thai lady to "jai yen yen" I dont think she liked it wery mut. If I dared to jump the queue at say, Tescos, in my home town, I would probably get beaten with a large bread stick or worse, a can of skipjack tuna... :o

  12. The THB 200.-Ticket is valid for the Ban Laem crossing only.
