  1. my connection is only slightly worse than normal even though i'm paying top dollar for super high speed. can't wait for the day that competition finally enters the Thai internet market. I know I'm a sour grapes merchant but its absolutley <deleted> what these guys call a service. if only i could go into business here!!!!!
    .

i must add that im on TRUE (who should be names FALSE or TRUE LIES) as the are absolutley rubbish. been connected 5 months and have had to go to their head office every month due to the getting my bill wrong each and every time. they also oversell their service as you get nothing like the download speed you pay for (of course they only guarantee 40%!!!!).When you go to their office, everyone goes into hiding and cannot speak a word of English. I can speak reasonable Thai bit this firm advertisies in English so i expect them to have a representative who can parley.Of course thats not the case as you just end up getting passed from 1 person to the other who have no idea what they're on about.I ts actually funny if you look at it a certain way and are not involved in what is a complete waste of time/energy/money/peace. A Thai comedy that happens everyday to lots of people here. Maybe Im loosing my sense of humour?

  2. Hi, I have done quite a few visa runs to Penang and usually do it by flying direct with Air delaysia but when i checked their prices this time i was not willing to pay almost 8000b that they were asking for it at the time so instead I have booked a flight to Hat Yai (2700b) and intend going overland to Penang and then back. I have done the overland thing before but it was years back and its all a bit hazy now. I fly into Hat Yai on the Tuesday morning at around 0930 and then want to get to Penang as easily but inexpensively as possible. I dont mind payin extra if it means safer or more comfortable though. I have given myself an extra day in Penang to do the Visa stuff just incase and then my return day is Friday for flight at just after 1700 from Hat Yai. I am just tryin to find out if anyone has done anything like this of late and can save me time/hassle/cash with some info etc. Anyway, cheers if you can. Regards

  3. Yeah I know of a fair few people who are at the point of seriously considering leaving. Some have business's and some are just here for the lifestyle on TVisas. The main thing that both groups are sick of is the constant moving of goalposts and lack of any clarity regarding the Visa rules. They also dont think much will change after the 'election'. It seems that the Generals will have a grip on things from behind the scenes. A Democraship is on the cards by the looks of it.

Myself, I think I would already have left if I didnt have a girlfriend here. I mean I love Thailand but eventually the ongoing feeling of bitterness you have as a farang for feeling your not welcome (unless for a 2 week holiday) does start to get at you. Or should I say at me. I have to keep reminding myself its not the normal Thai's its the Thai 'Elite' (funny that) who are calling these shots. Interesting times for sure.

  4. Hi, Ive done some Thai language courses up to level 3 speaking and am at a level where i can get by on the street but thats about it. I dont have the time to commit to a school course at present and was thinking about doing an online course instead. Ive had a look at the one on Thai visa but i dont like the phonetics they use. Does anyone have suggestions/experiences of other courses worth looking at. Any info is appreciated. T.I.T.
