Mai pen rai. the water is mostly splashed near beer bars and the occasionnal passing truck. so far, 2nd, 3rd, khopai, bonkoch, paniard chang (yume), arunotai, south/north/klang pattaya roads, and much of buakow are still safe. diana, honey, and chaiyapoon mildly less.

all bets are off on the 7th though. 3rd/south will be insane as well just about anywhere west of sukhumvit. consider yourselves warned!

Came back this morning from the village swimming pool and when I passed the house of the village owner they were unloading huge speakers from a pick-up truck. I looked with some shocked expression in my face and one of the guys said with a broad smile "Songkraaan".......there's still the chance of a power out....

water i can handle--that's expected. however some clever girl put some kind of cooling powder on my forehead. in seconds it felt like it was on fire combined with the cold water. it spoiled an otherwise fun songkran day.

if you cannot dislodge the stuck item with your fists under you ribs as in pushing against your stomach, use the top of a chair. keep ramming it under your ribs to wind yourself in the hopes of dislodging the item in your throat.

you can save someone by running behind them, locking your arms under their ribs and squeezing the air out of them repeatedly while making upward movements with your arms against their stomach to force the wind up.

there used to be or still is an american psych. columnist in one of the local papers. otherwise try the hospitals or speak to a farrang doc.

never saw any in pats but there is one just in front of ekamai bus station in bkk. try a large hotel here.

the OP may have an ax to grind. we cannot verify the accuracy of his account. there is no good reason to name/shame without some proof. the topic should be deleted as it's irresponsible to allow this report to be taken as truth when we really don't know for sure.

I'm against violence usually but why can't the Thais deliver some street justice to these drunk drivers causing injury and damage? it's not as if it would be so difficult with mobiles and bikes to coordinate.

for farrang grub, there's few cheaper. i wouldn't be too hyper sensitive and just enjoy your grub.

some owners don't speak to their customers at all!

as for cheap restaurants go, you're not there for the owner are you?

Thanks for the offer. Been to Bang Sare beach several times but have passed on Bang Saen because all the discussions I hear about it pertain to "The Strip" of bars similar to sexy soi 6 Pattaya.

Anything you can tell us about Bang Saen Sir Mike?

That's harsh. Maybe the girls aren't the prettiest and the bar not the cleanest but I think the author is taking the description of that bar and those girls a little too far!

I recommend Koh Si Chang.

Will there be any food?

I will not be anywhere near this site due to possible bomb attacks. The Aussie embassy sent me an sms last week warning of possible bomb attacks in bkk. This is Pattaya's largest event in a small area. Not worth the risk!

I have a mate/friend who constantly brags of his wealth. I'm happy for him as I am for any of my friends who can make a good living in today's world. I'm not jealous or envious, I'm sincerely happy for him. The issue is that I'm on the very low end of the income scale.

I'm a little peeved that he keeps rubbing his wealth in my face but is very stingy in my presence and that of others. He's what is known as a cheap charlie.

Now to the point, I need a loan and I've asked this wealthy earner because he makes so much money on a regular basis that I doubt he'll miss the loan. He declined by making excuses so I'm nowhere further ahead now.

I have a lot of sensitive information about him that I feel would pursuade him to loan me the cash. I consider myself loyal and honest but now I'm stuck and want him to pony up the loan which I'll repay.

I know he's severely unfaithful to his wife and I have a secured connection to her. Do I threaten him or what should I do to get the loan? Thank you.

one can re-offend after jail time and/or after paying a fine. either way, both are penalties society meeds out. if you don't pay accumulated parking tickets, most have the option of jail time. it goes both ways and here he gets to choose his penalty. leave it at that.
