  1. Well I never said it would happen all at once. Go on about anything you. You obviously think that irony is something that happens to your shirty.
  2. Well you're the man Mr G, top player. Depending on whether or not this thunder turns to rain I'll be near the biggest 7 in town in an hour or so. Hope I share your good fortune. And the rain is already starting.
  3. Yes I think we are definitely struggling here, except for wishbeer. You did well to get that link I can't get any sense out of them at all. Possibly there's some Philippino bars restos in Bangkok. Could be worth a try. We shall see.
  4. Does that mean they have only suspended their services in Russia or Russian issued cards are suspended everywhere.?
  5. Could well be. It caught my eye because it was amongst other similar sized cans priced 50 - 55.. Who cares. I am on my third large Leo and have a phat khao gai then off home. A happy for the moment old git. I am an early doors drinker and a happy one
  6. And 10 years ago the price of a pint of Sam's mild was £1.85. Outer London price, don't know about Central London or "the North".
  7. Possibly for people who like pouring it down their throats but can't be doing with the hangover. And in the main we are discussing a drink that is 3% abv. When I was last in London 10 years ago Sam Smith's mild was 2. 8%, so 3% is not a total freak.
  8. I see your point J but............ A "friendly" against Celtic, I always thought that wasn't possible. The object is of course to raise funds, a shame they are the opposition. I wonder if their non-sectarian following will sing their song glorifying the death of Lee Rigby.
  9. No none. Nor any in Bangkok, or any up in the Nakhon. Not that I go to that many but I've never spoken to anyone who has been asked to do one. Is your experience different.
  10. That could come under the heading "the exception that proves the rule." I am sure there have been comments on here about places around Walking St that do testing and that place was likely one of them. Long time since I have had a drink in that area.
  11. Well that's Boreham Wood put to the sword. Onwards and upwards.
  12. No need to ask why you don't go home then is there.? Well someone had to say it. And you might also have asked why the UK had so many deaths in the early stages and Thailand had so few. I'm sure there's a logical answer somewhere.
  13. They have previously stated that if infections rise above 30,000 per day Songkran will be cancelled.
  14. That is true. It would be interesting to know the production and distribution figures. Not heard much since they started production.
  15. Cracker, that one lad. You are clearly POTY material if it ever comes back.
  16. Mr G thanks for that. Negative at BigC and the wholesaler. So that works out at about 42 per can. My thing is that I don't drink at home,* I am a pub goer and I was hoping for a local stockist so that I could cajole a local bar into putting it in for me. So a bar/resto whatever here would need to put it out at about 65 which is bearable. *In the house I'd rather just have a cup of tea. Life is never simple.
  17. What Nobbis bar still going.? Amazing. Had a few heavy sessions there 20+ years ago on the way up and on the way back. Stayed at a cheapo guest house more or less next door.
  18. Saw this today in BigC, and looking it up on here came across an archived thread from 2020 which roundly slagged it off. At the time the price quoted was 50 or 52 per 490 ml can, in BigC today the same item is 31 baht.
  19. Up in the Nakhon I've tried a couple of wholesalers and one 7 but no joy. I'm off out shortly see if I have any luck in a wholesaler on the way to the local BigC. Do they want to sell the stuff or not.
  20. People have been refused admission to Immigration because they were wearing a wife-beater vest. Not years ago, recently.
  21. When your documents are not in order, it is probably best to keep it to yourself.
  22. Yes he seems able to turn his hand to a number of things and it is not all as bleak as he initially made out.
  23. At 64 he's going to come here and look for work.? Well I know a school that will employ pretty much anybody as an English teacher. Not much time on the beach in a hammock though and not a lot of fun if there's no plan B. Did not realise that he had already done teaching, so if he lives quietly and is happy with a low income don't see a problem there. The problems may come from health, visas and extensions, keeping the job as he may be a bit much for some employers.
