Ask the other lad, never been there me. Obviously you didn't.
-
Yes. Hilarious. I doubt my kecks would ever dry.

I like seedy border towns, better to me than manicured resorts.
-
Some positive news, I am told that the I Rover has San Mig Zero and one other bar expects to have it in "soon".
-
Well it wasn't last night. If you compare it with 20 years ago it was definitely quieter, but not dead.
-
I've driven past Jonquera a few times years ago but never tried it. It looks to have a seedy border town feel to it. Same as Sadao, where I hope to try in a few months. Not looking for an alternative place to live, just feeling ready to start travelling round again and looking for places offering similar services as Pattaya.

Thailand abstains in vote to suspend Russia from UN Human Rights Council
rott replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well it is a comparatively impoverished state, struggling to maintain the wealth and status of the ruling elite. No place for principles here. -
I am not thinking of resorts such as Phuket and Hua Hin, but towns in Isaan or down South. Anyone have any experience of Sadao or Betong.?

Maximum of 50,000 COVID-19 daily infections predicted after Songkran

Most expats I know won't spend any more time in bars than they would anyway. Possibly less if they feel there's a chance of getting soaked on the way out or going home. -
A very, very good point. Is lying just instinctive.? Could be why they don't believe anybody else. A lot to be said for the old adage "a liar always expects everyone else to be lying."

Phuket Retirement Visa Agent Recommendation
rott replied to TropicalGuy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For ubonjoe/Dr Jack a technical question. When applying for a new retirement extension is this a simple renewal or a fresh application each time. As we are straying into pedantry it seemed an apposite time to ask. -

This is Thailand. Outside opinions do not apply. If you like their opinions so much go and live where they come from. -
Phuket Retirement Visa Agent Recommendation

It's the stamp in the passport that refers to an extension of permission to stay. The word visa does not appear. -
The economic data that is referred to in paragraph 6. Now should I report you for your false and offensive accusation.? Probably just have another coffee.
-
Thanks for that, wish I'd known in January. My own fault for believing what I read.
-
No obfuscation I was saying that the data would probably be a bit complex for me to understand in it's original form. That classes as self-effacing modesty which is a concept you would be unlikely to grasp.
-
I would be interested to see this economic data that flies in the face of what are commonly held to be facts. Not a snarky post I am keen to see the two sets of figures. Suitably simplified of course.

I am grateful to yourself and orchis for this info. When was Hua Lamphong originally due to close.? When is it currently due to close.? Many thanks.

If it is a stamp from immigration yes.
-
No, if the stamp came from immigration it is legal.
