Ownership of land vs house
rott replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Real Estate, Housing, House and Land Ownership
Our (her) house is on temple land, a form of leasehold agreement which I understand gives the right of residency in perpetuity. I am told that it could be transferred from her name to mine and the temple would have no objection to doing this. Never saw the point in doing it, did make a couple of mild enquiries with vaguely discouraging responses. A rare case I am sure. -
Russian Tourists Struggle to Leave Thailand Amid Russia-Ukraine Crisis
rott replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Well you can if you spell syphilis properly. -
5 cases.? Well a sales office or sales programme will be taking note of that. No slacking off now. ????

Not often I agree with you Nero but you called it right there.

Well it is a sub-forum not an obstacle course. Half that number of questions would have been a more realistic start with the rest coming later.

Russian Tourists Struggle to Leave Thailand Amid Russia-Ukraine Crisis

Bargirls are human beings, some good some bad. As you have obviously had no contact with any, I just wanted to clarify that. -
Well done G, I have still had no luck but will be in BKK and Pattaya within the next month so will try again.

Done most of what I wanted and many things that never occurred to me. Could have been better if I'd had some common sense and a bit more nous. Could have been worse if I hadn't been prepared to work so hard and had such a good upbringing. Spent 18 of the last 25 years in Thailand and DV will enjoy a good few more yet.

I was quoting regular daily instances, you are quoting very rare, occasional night time events that are easily avoided (if indeed they happened at all). It is a predominantly working class resort famous for nightlife what would you expect. (Shouting indeed!.!!! This is too much.) You may be happier at the British Museum

Can they force me into hospital if i test positive?
rott replied to joeshmoe23's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
So no follow up or comeback at all.? Is this the norm or were you just lucky.? And how many days did it take before you tested negative, or just felt better.? Sorry about the questions but I got curious. -
Teacher assaults primary student because he dared to ask a question
rott replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Never been a TEFLer but have a mate who is, on occasion they have been a farang face short for a test or whatever and I have sat in. Each time the teachers had the instruction, nobody fails, nobody gets less than 40%. -

It is also a criminal offence. Thai Criminal Code, sections 326 and 330. -
What was it like to have a Cataract operation in Thailand
rott replied to webfact's topic in Health and Medicine
My operation here was problem free and successful. The only problem was that for some reason an overnight stay was required and every 2 hours two nurses came and checked my blood pressure etc. By 6 am this has worn very, very thin. Luckily I was out before 10 otherwise I could have been shouting, screaming and throwing things around. That was 8 years ago, possibly they have moved into the new millennium. -
If they stopped behaving like 2nd class they might find that people's attitudes towards them improve. For myself I have very little to do with them, I just wish that in the early days someone had explained to them that the Jomtien baht bus is meant for 6 people each side. Not 2 obese Russians spreading themselves out on each side.

Government Confirms Songkran Celebrations to Proceed Next Month
rott replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Ryan, please remind me, in Bangkok is the water throwing restricted to certain areas, and daytime only.? Also does it still only happen on the 3 official days.?
