Hi
I recently asked for embassy advice re a visa for Azerbaijan, thanks for the advice.
The Company in Azerbaijan are requesting me to get my visa from the Azerbaijan London Embassy.
I have all necessary documents but they asked to enclose a prepaid self-addressed special/recorded delivery envelope so they can send my passport back to me.
Problem is that I live upcountry, Phitsanulok, and the postal services are limited here.
I have been down to the main post office who seem to be able to send the passport and documents to London by EMS but are at a loss as to the prepaid self addressed, special /recorded delivery envelope for the return.
Has anyone any advice how to overcome this, to my knowledge there is not DHL service in Phitsanulok, a guy I know once said he uses a Company called T something.
Anyway any advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

hello,
I have the chance of some work in Azerbaijan, Baku.
I need to get a visa, probably a business one from a embassy near here ( Thailand )
As far as I know there is no Azerbaijan embassy in Bangkok, is that correct?
If not in Thailand does anyone know where the nearest one is? I have googled but no luck
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Thanks for the comments / advice todate
I did try the links suggested to try to get an internet english commentry to use during the matches.
Best I could do was a video/audio feed which was a minute behind the True Vision HD french open coverage.
I think this is due to the video so I think just a live audio feed maybe the answer.
Noted the comments on BBC 5, so we cannot rely on this.
If anyone can find a audio internet feed only for the 2010 World cup most appreciated
Thanks
I have just been on the phone with the lovely people at True Visions. Even in HD, the commentary will be in Thai. There will be no choice. It is possible on the terrestrial channels, 1-5, that there might, just might be commentary in English. As a long time listener of BBC 5 Live online, what normally happens is that less than premium events (such as England Vs Bangladesh in cricket) are broadcast internationally. When a premium event takes place, e.g. big football, rugby, cricket match, they do not broadcast internationally. To illustrate this point - I recently listened to every round of the 20/20 World Cup up to and including the semi-final. However, the final was not broadcast.
Last world cup, many bars had the South African or Indian feed which had English commentary although I think this is pricey to install at home.
We can't do anything else than put up with the monopoly power of True Visions. If there was any other choice, I'd change like a flash!
Just received this answer to my enquiry with TrueVisions so don't hold your breath
'Please allow us to inform you that The World cup matches have been secured the sole right by TV Pool (Thai TV) here in Thailand not TrueVisions. You will be able to watch it on Thai Free TV. However, we also regret to inform you that TV Pool has bought only a picture license not included the original commentary. This means, the commentators will be Thai (only). TrueVisions has bought a license from TV Pool; there will be only Thai commentators as well.'

Hi,
I did some searches and could not find this item covered.
I have just got fixed up with True Vision HD channels sport and HBO.
I knew that the 2010 Football world cup would be in Thai commentry only on the True Vision HD channel.
What I hope to do is to mute the sound on the HD channel and supliment this by live radio commentry of the matches by internet.
The only internet radio channel I could find that may do this is BBC radio 5 sports live.
However I am not sure if BBC radio 5 will cover the world cup football matches.
For example yesterday during the French Open they were covering Bangaladesh cricket.
I did email and asked them but they never replied.
So, can anyone please advise how to get live commentry for the football world cup via the internet.
I think many expats are asking this question.
Thanks in advance

Hi
Thanks to all for the very good feedback, it does seem a problem to get a Dell Laptop repaired.
That Laptop repair shop in Pantip Plaza UKjackthai sounds good, most appreciated if you could please post the card details .
Regards
-
i dont know if the situation has changed but as of last year there was no Dell service centre in Thailand. Parts etc are shipped out of Malaysia and they have local companies who act as their service agents and perform repairs etc.
this is the toll free number for their technical support: 1800-0060-07
i had my laptop repaired under warranty about 2 years ago. was pretty painless but it was purchased from Dell Thailand. A friend purchased his laptop in the UK and Dell Thailand took about 3 months to repair it due to international warranty issues.
thanks for the information.
This is not a warranty claim, the guy has accepted to pay for the repair cost to replace the case.
All he needs is a recognised Dell repair facility that will accept to repair this laptop.
The model of the Laptop is a XPS M1210
I have had a look at Dell website and it appears if you have not paid for a service agreement you cannot get a Dell computer repaired.
So beware if you are thinking of buying a Dell computer
More feedback would be welcome

Hi
I am writing this for a friend.
He bought a Dell Laptop Computer in the UK about 1 year ago, off the internet.
Apparently this was made in Ireland, this model is no longer in production.
He dropped the Laptop and the case was damaged.
He is looking for a Dell repair facility in Thailand if possible to enable the case to be replaced.
Many thanks in advance for any useful feedback

Good friend of mine is GM for a riding/equestrian club in BKK.
Which location are you looking for please?
Gerd
Many thanks for the feedback recieved from yourself and others on this topic.
Bangkok would be an ideal location, although a location out of Bangkok would be manageable also.
Thanks

Many thanks for the good response to my earlier query
Just on more item.
You can buy cards for so many hours on a dial up, example INET easy, 50 hours.
Can you buy a certain amount of time by a card for Broadband.
I am not talking about a permanent account, just one to buy a card and use it on a ADSL modem.
If so where can I buy the cards in Bkk
Thanks in advance
-
Many thanks for the feedback
The reason I am aksing is to indeed send faxes on dial up whilst being on ASDL
-
Hi
Does any one know i e has anyone ever tried to connect dial up and ADSL at the same time using the same phone line. If so can u use both at the same time on your computer

New Dragster's 400CC & I think 1000CC were on display & for sale at Lotus Ayyuthaya a week or so back. 1000cc was up for 375,000 but cannot remember the price of the 400. Steed 600cc can also be bought new around the 300k mark.
Many thanks for the two replies I have had on this posting so far.
Now I am beginning to understand and I am must admit I am quite disappointed.
It would appear that unless you are to pay excessive amounts of what I presume is import tax the only motorcylce available in my range is the Honda Phantom.
This is only 200 cc and according to my friend has difficulty climbing hills with two people on.
mmmmmmmmm, not a good situation

Hi
I posted this in the sports forum by mistake, finally found the right one.
I am new to motorbikes and am looking if possible to buy a motor bike similar to the Honda Shadow in thailand.
Some questions
How does the motorbike license system work?
What paperwork do u need, such as tax and insurance?
What size motorcyles 250 cc to 500 cc are manufactured in Thailand?
Is it possible to buy a new Honda Rebel ( 250 cc ) or a Honda Shadow, are these made here or imported. If imported where is the best place to buy. If imported is it possible to get spares.
Any advice most appreciated on buying a 250 cc or larger motorbike.
I live in the North btw.
Thanks in advance

Near the Iranian Embassy.
Any tips most appreciated.
