What does this mean for those of us who go to Penang for a triple entry tourist visa twice a year?

As of yesterday, everything is normal, nothing has changed.

Some food for thought:

Imagine you and your children are totally dependent upon somebody financially. (the father in this case)

Imagine you have acquired a life threatening disease from this person

Imagine the person threatens to cut you and your children off financially unless you agree to sign off on certain terms including issues of abuse to one or more of your children.

Imagine you are treated with no respect and outright contempt by the man who fathered your 6 children. Somebody who feels his only responsibility is to send money every month.

And how would you feel? REALLY?

Yes, there is a lot more to this story which may or may not be told or written. I shall not be the one to tell it. Frankly, I shed no tears that he's gone. The world is probably a better place ( at least for the women ).

My sympathy and empathy for the ladies and children whose lives have been changed forever and I wish you all the courage and strength to pick up the pieces and move on. I know how difficult it is.

I would also suggest that those of you genuinely concerned about the accused explore what can be done to help her sustain herself medically.

Just returned from the river (Ping) around the Rimping store area, south of the Nawarat Bridge. The river is down about 75 cm from yesterday afternoon.

Ran out of time for the good stuff. Will post it in the morning. Rains are back in Chiangmai this evening at 11:30. If they are heavy in the north, the river will be rising over night and the morning may be ugly for many near the night bazzare. Hopefully, that's not the case.

This is NOT his Thai wife, but girlfriend. They are NOT married.

This is NOT his Canadian wife though he did father her 6 children.

His ex-wife ( divorced last 18 months ) is Geri Cvitanovich-Dubie, one of the original 4 people who started Herbalife International. $$$$$

CAT? Do you mean the company who has screwed everybody in Chiang Mai in the last 2 weeks by reducing our bandwidth to the point where we can't surf internationally? ( no more VCI 33 only VCI 66, kinda like reducing the freeway to one lane from 2 )If you're on HINET in Chiang Mai DO phone TTT and complain. They are sympathetic and really do care. From what I understand they are also fed up with the feedback and B.S. they are receiving from CAT. There is a meeting this week in Bangkok between CAT and TTT regarding the HINET service. Complaints to TTT will be forwarded to CAT at the meeting. I have already suggested that there may be a mass exodus from HINET after the 12 month contract is up and that if CAT is seriously considering going public during this period....it might not look so good to have people RUNNING from the only growth area of the company. ( they still think they are the only Overeseas provider - Can you say VOIP : ) Idiots...). Sorry for the nasty tone but I've been lied to enough by CAT staff who will say and do anything to avoid confrontation and the truth....HINET SUCKS!

Has anybody recently been to Penang (since all the new immigration changes went into effect) and received a double entry?

Are the money changer services on Chulian St. still able to handle this for you or do you need to personally go to the Thai consulate/embassy?

In regards to the "double entry" everybody normally gets in Penang, are they still issuing them?

Can you still use the services on Chulian St. where they send out your passport for you? Has anybody actually done this since all the new changes took effect in August?

I was informed by Immigration in Mae Sai one week ago that they wish me to apply for a "proper" visa. (this was after viewing my 7 consecutive 30 day tourist stamps).

Obtaining a "proper" visa is not currently an option for me so I'm hoping for a double entry in Penang. Comments, advice or suggestions appreciated.
