  1. I am planning to run a 7-11 Franchise, but I have no Experience in running a Business in Thailand

I have found the right Spot and a well sized Shop with a long Term Rental for 10 Years

How is the best Way to proceed?

I will have to open - or overtake an existing - Company!

I got the Information, that there is a "B" Franchise for 1,5 Mio Baht and a "C" for 2,7 Mio Baht

I have the Money for the "B" and for 2 Years Rent, but I would prefer the "C" - its seems to get a better Participation of the "Income"

Would any Thai Bank give me a Loan?

    As I stated:

I am a Newbee in running a Biz in Thailand and I am searching for Advices for the "Start-Up"

Thanks in Advance for any Posting to this Thread

    Cheers

    What I still remember:

    1. a Letter from the Bank - at the same Day I apply for the Extension - that the 800.000 Baht are more than 3 Months on my Bankaccount

    2. a Letter from the Owner of the Apartmenthouse, where I am living in

    3. plenty of Copies and Cash :-)

    what else?

thank you in Advance for any Help

    Cheers

The Broker just informed me now, that - using his own Words:

....But like all leases on Koh Chang it isnt registered with the Government

    Land Office.....

    Is this the Truth?

I am not willing to take the Risk, that one Day the Landlord just send me away

and all my invested Money is gone

does anybody have some Experiences about this Fact?

Thanks in Advance for any Thought

  5. maybe somebody can give me an Advice, what would be the best Laptop for Stocktrading?

recieving multible Infostreams and running several Programs at the same Time is the Quest

No homebased PC, as I want to be flexible

NO Linux or Mac - as most of the trading Software is based on Windows....

What Features must such a Laptop have?

If I would consider to upgrade an existing Laptop, what would be the best Method in using or changing what Parts?

Thanks in Advance for any constructive Suggestion

    Cheers

  6. All your Guys really do not consider, that this spilling could go on for a month or longer?

    http://english.aljazeera.net/news/europe/2...2341405635.html

I wanted to ask you here about a long Term Effect on this - Worst Case Predictions, please !!!

If the spilling does not stopp, not only Europe will be affected - cant you see the World in Dark?

Bad: The World Stock Market will get hit severe, not only the Airlines !

Good: Quality Thai Export Fresh Food should become very cheap soon !

But there must be more to see further.....

  7. Just watching BBC and a Report from Iceland about the Vulcano

1 Geologist said, they do not know, when this Epic Happening will stop ....

Lets think about a "worst case" and the spilling continues for a Month or even longer!

What Consequences we and the World will face?

Let me give you just 1 Idea:

All Aircargo to Europe ( Persons, Food, ect.. - not only from Asia .. ) will be suspended!

I am sure, there could be severe Consequences for all of us living here in Asia, dont you think so?

  8. Just would like to discuss following Statemnet I have found in the Internet :

....Seen on a recent Citibank statement: "Effective April 1, 2010, we reserve the right to require (7) days advance notice before permitting a withdrawal from all checking accounts. While we do not currently exercise this right and have not exercised it in the past, we are required by law to notify you of this change ...

Also in the German Financial Times wrote about this in their latest Issue

Will Banks in Thailand follow up?

  9. Just wonder, if anbody was reading the newest Edition of Pattaya Today, newest Edition - Pete´s Peregrinations about this Forum?

Without telling his Username, he states some positive Arguements about Memebers, like some are "witty, thoughtfull, knowledgeable or amusing"...

....but he was taken aback by the agressive, boorish and bullying Tactics one often finds on the Thaivisa Board.....

one the other Side, he states, that this Board is losing its way by teratening its posters so badly, that they become alienated to it, by having

some restrictive, agressively, over-regulated and paranoid Moderators....

...its all about Money, to protect the Advertisers....

    my Questions now is:

    do you feel the same?

  10. in my Opinion, there are "different" kind of Russians here in Pattaya

    - many normal Tourists with some Cash to go shopping, and not spending their Money in Bars ( good for 7-11, Supermarkets ),

as they prefer to drink in their Rooms with fellow Russians

    - some clever Russians doing some quite good Business here ( see in Big C "silver.ru" has improoved very, very well )

    - there are "some" third Kind, regarding this Article from the Bangkok Post

    http://bwww.bangkokpost.com/news/investiga...street-of-shame

    - and there is a" last" Kind of Russians, you will never see in common Places, guess who :-)

I had russian GF for 3 Years - unbelieveable great Time, but she tried to force me into Marriage - no Chance with me :-)

and I have been several Times to Russia - never saw so many drinking People ( yound and old, male and female ) in Parks,

Streets and Venues - and also never saw so much beautifull Girls around me

Russia had a great History and Culture, till Stalin whipped out the High Society - since that Time, Russian struggles with political Problems

first of all, we - or they - have a "Communication Problem" :-)

just try to approach with a simple "privet" or "kakdela" (means like greetings, welcome, how are you...), they will respond politely

Russians might be cold or unpolite in the first Moment, but once they are drunken, you will have an incredible Time with them,

till you are knocked out by the Amount of Alcohol, they consmue without appearing being affected....

my "over all" Comment: any Society and Culture has it good and its bad Sides

  11. in all Postings, regarding this Accident, I simply miss the Argument, that the Legislation in Thailand is too lax to punish these People/Companies, who employ unsufficcient trained Workers and Controllers

Just let me ask, what Consequences for the People/Companies such an Accident would have in Europe, North America or Australia?

  12. Maybe there is somebody, who can give me an Advice

I have a new HP Laptop with 4 Gig RAM

The Performance with Vista Home was so slow, that some advised me to upgrade to Windows 7 Starter Edition

now the Things are even worse

With several open Firefox Browsers, there are most no Response anymore, when I want to click from 1 Tap to another

I have run my Registery Cleaner than and its even more worse

    what should I do now?

I was so happy with my elder Laptop running with XP - should I downgrade?

    and if so, how?

thanks in advance for any Suggestion

  13. are we at the Brink of a new financial Crises?

Fears of a potential default in Dubai sent shock waves through financial markets Thursday, weighing on European and Asian equities, lifting government bond prices and pulling the U.S. dollar off of recent lows as investors sought out safe havens.

Dubai late Wednesday said it would restructure Dubai World and announced a six-month "standstill" on repayments of the state-run wide-ranging conglomerate's debt. Ports operator DP World and its debt is excluded from the standstill plan. Read about Dubai World's sprawling empire.

Analysts said Dubai's woes were a blow to sentiment, serving as a reminder that potential trouble spots remain in the world economy.

"I don't see this as a massive issue but it's another warning to where the world got itself last year with loose monetary conditions [and] loose lending," said Naeem Wahid, market strategist at Lloyds TSB. "And, in a few cases, the problems are still out there and we could continue to see these kinds of nasty surprises" in the future.

Government-owned Dubai World is a conglomerate with interests in real estate, ports and the leisure industry. The firm carries around $60 billion in liabilities. Credit agencies Moody's Investors Service and Standard & Poor's downgraded the debt of a range of government-related firms, including DP World, after the restructuring announcement, news reports said.

The developments sent the cost of insuring the emirate's sovereign debt against default soaring for a second day.

The news also weighed on other emerging markets, boosting the cost of insurance against default against other Middle Eastern and emerging-market countries and undercutting Central and Eastern European currencies.

Asian stocks fell early Thursday. European stocks were under pressure, with the pan-European Dow Jones Stoxx 600 index losing around 3%. Worries about the exposure of British and other European banks to Dubai contributed to the weak tone, analysts said See London Markets.
