  1. Again, apologies if this has been covered. In my situation, I work overseas 6 weeks on 6 weeks off. How do I get prof that I have income of 40k a month. Who can do that for me.

    Thanks

Depending on your nationality, I believe some people were obtaining income verification letters from their embassies for income from outside of Thailand. Then using income statements, and bank documents, etc. for supporting information when dealing with immigration office for extension purposes. For income within Thailand, they also used tax returns and documents along with bank documents.

  2. yep, apply for the non-imm O, you can then go and look for a job...

Thanks guys. So next question, do I need a marriage certificate from Thailand or is one from Canada good enough? Any links on how to get a non-imm O?

    Cheers.

There are several consulate offices through out Canada. The link below is to the Embassy website in Canada. If you look in the visa section, it will give information about visa requirements and farther down it will list the contact information for each consulate.

Hopefully one is near you, or you can get it processed by mail.

  3. Then can we get tourist visa if no job?

or to get tourist visa, we must write some profession?

    How about you?

what do u fill in everytime?

Like Lopburi said. It's just a tourist visa, it probably does not matter what you put. I don't think they care. If not working, then "retired" should be ok. I didn't see how old you are, maybe put down student.

If it's a holiday in Thailand they most likely be closed also.

  4. Why it should be different with US ans USD ?

because no country ever had the political AND military clout the U.S. has and will have for a few decades to come. the last hundred years and especially the last few years have demonstrated clearly that the Greatest Nation on Earth™ will not hesitate to act as it pleases and when it seems favourable.

for an experienced investor is does not really matter which way the USD is heading even when holding USD denominated assets. there are many ways to hold USD and protecting the investment value seen from the perspective of different currencies.

You seem very well informed. Just curious, how much and what kind of an effect do you think the stronger pound and euro will have on the U. S. economy? Specifically, how it would effect the average guy in middle america.

    Thanks

  5. Basic issues but I would appreciate help. Thanks much! I will be entering Thailand getting the standard 30 day visa on arrival.

    1. I have read that a passport must be valid for at least 30 days for entry into Thailand. My new (renewed) Passport will only be 3 weeks old when I arrive from the US.

Question - Will this be a problem for me on arrival :D ?

    2. I have booked my return flight for 1 month and 7 days after arrival into Thailand (planning to pay the 1,900 baht for an extension)

Once again I have read "aliens entering the Kingdom with no visa must present ticket or travel documents that have been paid already or confirmed to exit the kingdom and must not exceed '30 days' upon the date of entrance to the kingdom."

Question - Should I change my ticket return for a 30 day stay for customs on arrival then re-book with my airline in Thailand for 7 days later or is this :o no big deal?

For the validity question, I think they mean that the passport should not expire within the 30 days that you are in Thailand. I hope i understand that question correctly.

I wouldn't be concerned about the return date on the ticket, I've never had them ask or look.

I can't say about the extension on "visa exempt entry". If you thought that you may possibly want to stay longer, maybe could consider a tourist visa.

  6. A recent post in the Airblade/Nuovo thread mentions fork oil. My CBR150R is now almost 4 years old, with 43,000 km. I'm a 91 kilo rider, and sometimes have 56 kilos of cargo/passenger. Should I change the fork oil by now? And in the process, should I ask them to put heavier weight fork oil in there?

Likewise, the unishock at the rear - does it ever get its oil changed? Again, can we use heavier oil?

I agree with lickeys suggestions. In addition though, the suspension systems have alot of moving parts, so the oil breaks down and becomes contaminated over a period of time. So, you'll prevent excess wear and get better performance with fresh suspension fluid. I've been out of the motorcycle biz for awhile, so I'm not too familiar with you particular model. But, if the rear shock absorber can be serviced, I would have that done also at some point.

In general, heavier suspension fluids are used to increase the damping effects. That is, how quickly it compresses or rebounds. If a suspension is really too soft or stiff then it may take a different spring rate to correct a problem. For instance if it was way too harsh or bottoms easily.

Anyway, for your purposes, if you are generally satisfied with the performance, just have them use a good quality fluid and have it serviced on a regular basis. I think you will notice a difference.

    Take care riding out there!

  7. I sense some misunderstanding here.

The multiple-entry non-immigrant visa – non-O, non-B, etc. – is valid for an unlimited number of entries into Thailand within one year from the visa's issue date. Some people call the multiple-entry non-O visa a one-year non-O visa.

With each entry on a multiple-entry non-immigrant visa, you get permission to stay for 90 days. With good timing, ie. if you obtain your visa close to your first departure for Thailand and make a last entry close to the visa's expiration date, you can get almost 15 months in Thailand out of the visa, with four border runs (exit Thailand, enter another country, return to Thailand same day)

    --

    Maestro

You're correct, I didn't understand the previous posts! I thought I understood things as you explained them. But how the OP wrote, 3* 90 day Non Immi "O", and the term "3 in one visa" had me wondering if I was missing something.

    Thanks for the clarification!

  8. You should be able to enter on "visa exempt entry" for 30 days. But some people have reported problems on how immigration counts the days, entries, etc. within a given time frame.

If you think you would want to stay longer than the extra thirty days, you could probably get another "Tourist" visa in a neighboring country.

Also, regulations may change before your trip, you may want to check for current information shortly before you go.

I have no previous entry in thailand after feb 2007 , so if I enter 1 dec the visa will be good until 1 march (ok the immigration use 30 days less 1 for month...). I cannot see different count if I have no stay.....

In theory I can do 3 times a visarun but it's not clear if a visarun is possible after a nornal Visa.

    -m

Other people have said they did not have a problem doing the visa exempt entry after using normal tourist visas. I don't think that is a problem, especially if you only do one or two. But, the 90 days exempt entries within 180 days became a problem for some, because of how immigration officials defined the 180 day period. Some people showed up expecting to get 30 days, somehow got stamped in for less, or turned away. That was my concern, read some of the recent post around April 1.

I would just advise to search for other post similar to your situation, maybe you will see something useful. Anyway, you can try it and if you have problems, just get another tourist visa.

  9. No answer, sorry, just a simple question: What on earth does the "LOS" mean. See lots of people writing those letters...

Most people mean "Land of Smiles". Others may have their own meaning.

My question is what is a 3* 90 day Non-immi visa?

multiple None Immigrant O visa... 3 visas in one that allow you to stay in LOS for 90 days a time * 3

therefore you need to do a border crossing to have your passport re-stamped every 90 days.

    Cost U.K. £90

    http://www.thaiconsul-uk.com/visas1.asp

Thanks, it's just that I haven't seen it written that way. Also, by three visas in one, you meant that you can enter 3 consecutive times? Not different classifications like "B" or "ED" etc. Right? Anyway, thanks for including the link. I've read about the place, and I'm sure it has some good information.

  10. Hi, i'm from Italy and i'm already planning a long trip to Thailand this fall.

I've read contrasting info about using 1 or 2 Visarun AFTER a normal 60+30 visa.

I will probably need just less than a month in addition of the standard Visa so better be sure.

    -m

  11. It just gets worse...

It certainly is! Of course everyone has their own situation to deal with. But, if I understood my advisors correctly, some foriegn owned businesses will have to increase their paid in registered capitol from 2 million to 3 million by (I think) August, 2009 to qualify for certain things, work permits, extensions, etc. Who knows what other regulations will be implemented or changed.

Anyway, definitely seek qualified professionals for advice. I think this all is going to be more complicated than ever before!

  12. Was advised of this today.Has anyone come across this or have any clarification.

Company who has a capital of THB 2 M can hire a foreigner employee and subsequently apply for non B and work permit for this employee but can no longer renew should the Balance Sheet of that Company doesnt show a minimum of THB 1 M net profit for the period.

    Can this be correct?

Yes, this is or can be correct. Not sure which one you are referring to. The visa or the work permit, they are seperate issues. Also, by renew did you mean the visa extension of stay based on business?

Referring to the police order topics above,(at the top of the Visa forum page) posted by sunbelt's english translation of Police Order 606/2006 it does mention those requirements for an extension of stay.

    edited for clarification.

  13. I have done some searches, but can't find anything on Turakitbandit University.

If I understood correctly, it's supposed to be in the Nonthaburi area, but I could be wrong. Anyway, location and any other information you may have would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  14. Question to SunBelt:

I want to make a phonecall regarding my situation to your company.

Where i phone to and who i ask on the phone ?

    Greetings Edwin.

I'm not sunbelt, but if you are in bangkok, you could call the number listed on their website. I think it's listed as (66)2642-0213. The receptionist can probably direct your call to the appropriate person or department, depending on your questions. Mr. Eikenberg

has been helpful in my dealings with them and their accounting office.

They have other offices in other parts of Thailand if you are not in bangkok. Also, they have responded well by email.

  15. JR Texas: Maybe it is time for each person just to give his/her opinion without reference to any other opinions that have been posted previously. :o
More good advice from Texans :D including from Heng. :D

Just a personal opinion, but I don't think they came up with such a great plan on the visa exempt entries. But, also how much did they really change the other visa regulations for most people. So, they just go get a tourist visa now, instead the exempt entries. And I don't think Non-Imm-"O" visas are that much more difficult to get for most people. Are they? I don't understand all of the whining that's gone on.

Anyway, I don't know about the other S.E. Asian countries, I'm not interested. But, for comparison the Middle Eastern and African countries seem to be much more difficult to deal with. As if anybody wants to really be there anyway. So, for me I'll just adjust my plans if necessary, and stick with Thailand for my long term plans.

Good luck whether you decide to stay or go!

  16. I think there are only two questions here:

    1) How to apply for the multiple entry visa : tick the multiple entry box :D

    2) What date to put on arrival as you don't know the exact date. : put in todays date you can enter Thailand

    Hope this explains :D

You just forget the main question: "What is the purpose/raison of your visa ?"

And for a under 50, not married, not working guy, there is no more valid raison for long term visa. :D

PS: I precise that I have "enough" money from my previous internet company and that I do not whish to work in Thaïland. Just having an early retirement.

Im not bashing people that are having problems getting Visa's here but lets be real about it a lot of these people cause their own problems.
Some people will get Visa problems as they don't understand the system.

The system has changed new rules etc just go with the flow.

Ok. So what should I do to go with the flow and get a long term visa ?

Guys: If you have no positive solution, we don't need your advice here. Thank's :D

    Pattaya46

Positive solution??? Hmmm, how about drinking a beer instead of crying in it. :o

  17. then why not get off their ass and get a Non-Imm O of some kind / So, I personally don't think they are so anti-farang.

    "non-Imm O of some kind"... :o

Come and say that to under 50 guys who are not maried and are not working... No option :D

I hope you will read the replies by Mr. Dupont and Tod-Daniels. I couldn't have written a better response.

Is the Thai immigration system perfect? No, but compared to other countries I've worked in. It isn't that bad! So, if they want to live in Thailand, I still think they need to get off their ass, quit whining, and deal with it. Apparently many others have!

  18. The rules are that I have to apply at local consulate. you cannot send your application elsewhere and expect them to process it if you live in the juristiction of another consulate. All they will do is simply refuse to process it and tell you you have to process it at your local consulate.

Now, I have a Non Imm O visa it's just not multi entry but only single entry and that's what this thread is all about.

Yeah that's what I thought. It's quite clear to me that they don't want to give me mulitple entry visa for the same reasons that other nations consulates do hand them out. If I want to travel many times within a 2 year period I should be entitled to that visa. That fact that I'm not makes me very upset.
You ARE entitled to it ,you just don't seem to want to do what you have to to get it...and that is to avoid the consulate you are dealing with at the moment. Americans are getting Non Imm O visas in USA every day. It'll make you more upset when you find out you cant get a visa whilst in Thailand and they shrug their shoulders when you go back and tell them.

Sorry, maybe I don't fully understand, but other people in the U.S. have reported sending their passports to other consulates and securing visas. I don't see the injustice as you mentioned in an earlier remark. You were unfortunate that your situation was borderline. And we all know, that on any given day, one can run into someone who is incompetant or having a "bad day". But, usually if the proper procedures are followed, there isn't a problem. If that doesn't work, then sure, try something else. But, for a guy who is reluctant to take a taxi from the airport late at night, are you really sure you want to be here?

  19. as has been said before ..... tourist visas and visa exemptions were not intended for living in Thailand.

Getting the days right and making sure you stick to the real rules seems to do fine with folks though!

?? WoW! I thought the 90 day rule applied only to those who entered on 3 x 30 day entry stamps.

You are saying the new rules apply for tourist visas as well?

I would sure like to know more about this. So would most folks!!

    BR

"You are saying that the new rules apply for tourist visas as well"

He didn't say that! I think jdinasia, meant that if you want to stay long term, then get the correct visa. If (one) is going to stay as a tourist, then fine. get a tourist visa. If (one) has some other situation, employment, marriage, etc. then why not get off their ass and get a Non-Imm O of some kind. Thailand is not the only country that has similar restrictions for certain visas. So, I personally don't think they are so anti-farang.

Edited by beechguy for incorrect grammar.

  20. I learned today that the 90 in 180 days rule for visa exemptions applies to kids as well as adults and it's being enforced. My 3 year old son exited after a stay from October to March. Theoretically no fine(that's for another post) for overstay, but upon re-entry, they did count stamps and they did count days. They counted more than 90 days and told us no dice, the 3 year old can't enter Thailand. After much hassles, they stamped him in with the stamp saying he had used up all of his visa exemptions.

Just an FYI for any parents who might be in the same boat. 90 in 180 is alive and well(I saw one person refused entrance today.)

Sorry to hear that, but too many people aren't taking care of business the way they should. Things are just not the same as before! You either need to do the proper procedures now, or consider other options. It isn't like there has not been information

available. I wish you good luck!
