It is my understanding that those fields are for people applying for Business visas.
For a Tourist visa they can be left blank.
I suspected as much , but they say to fill it out completely. Just another confusing thing with these visas. I hope my consulate agrees!
Thanks for the help!

I'm in the US and going to the consulate for a tourist visa. The instructions say to fill out ALL the application and there are check boxes for each type of visa so it seems one form fits all.
I got to the part where it asks for:
Reference person and address in Thailand
This is my first visit so I don't know anyone there. Is this going to a problem? Is it applicable to a Tourist Visa?
Thanks!

Hi,
Im travelling to BKK for my first time and have been reading all the visa types and descriptions and the border runs. Everytime I think I understand everything I read information that seems to conflict with each other.
1) Does the new 90/180 rule only apply to "Visa Exemption aka Visa on Arrival" visas? In other words, if I come in with a Travel Visa does the 90/180 rule apply?
2) If this is true why would people not just have Travel Visas? Just to avoid the fee?
3) My Travel Visa will be 60 days and then I understand I can get the 30 day extension right in BKK.
Can you only get 1 30 day extension in BKK or before the 30 days is up can I apply in BKK?
4) Back to the 90/180 law - if I can't get another 30 day extensionin BKK ( and Id be at 90 days at that point). As long as I leave and get another Tourist Visa does the 90 day rule apply and might get refused entry or is it just Visa Exemptions that have the problem?
Thanks for your help!

I'm visiting from the USA and need rental/hotel for 30-90 days somewhere that is centrally located. If you have a rental or can recommend an extended stay hotel I would appreciate it very much.
I arrive late April.
Thank-you!

I'm by no means an expert but this place got me the best prices for my trip to BKK. It searches a bunch of airlines and was surprisingly cheaper than every where else I checked

Hi, I'm hoping someone can clarify the visa situation for me. Im a US citizen and understand I don't need to get a visa for a 30 day stay. I will be visiting for 60 days however so will I need to go and get an extension after 30 days or should I actually get a tourist visa ( and can I do that when I arrive in BKK) ?
Thanks!
New requirement to show air ticket at land border
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

For what its worth,
I went to a Thai Consulate in the US today to get a tourist visa. I had to show a return ticket. I told them I would be traveling in and out of the country and asked them to explain what I would need and if I would be ok ( i threw out a for instance if I traveled out of the country came back in on a 30 but my plane didn't leave for 40 days so I would run out of 30 day exempt). They told me what is SUPPOSED to be happening is the 90/6 month rule with proof of return flight at the border but admitted they had no idea how the border people were counting the days and how strictly it was being enforced. I told them I was worried I would get caught running out of time on a 30 day exempt so they nicely gave me a 3x tourist visa. Very nice of them.
This maybe should be its own post but I also learned there that "Non residents are allowed to open foreign currency accounts with any commercial bank on Thailand" They use non-resident not in the visa sense of the term just a non-thai national. This seems to contradict what I read in other threads with the banks refusing to open accounts. I have it in Black and White here in the "Thailand Travel Guide" published by the "Tourism Authority of Thailand". Odd
