My local Pharmachoice pharmacy just told me that the factory now has Lispril 20mg available again and they will order for me. They probably have 10mg also, if ordered from the factory

I had a very comprehensive check up 3 months ago at Ram's check up centre (in the recently built facility just south of the main hospital). Smooth, speedy service. The cost was 8,951B, which struck me as good value.

This must be a very valuable plot, given its size and location, certainly too valuable to be used as a parking lot or vendor space indefinitely. It is adjacent to two condo buildings and a hotel, as can be seen in the photos. I suspect it is only a matter of time before it too becomes the site for a condominium or similar.

The One Chiangmai condo near Central Festival claims that it will have the biggest pool in Chiang Mai. I don't know how they define "the biggest pool", but if you are looking for such may be worth going to their onsite sales building and asking for further information. The condos themselves are still being built but the basic structure is there.

For an occasion, go to L'Elephant. It has everything---atmosphere (it is like dining in someone's beautiful dining room), excellent food and service. I think excellent value also considering the quality. They have a three course menu, with lots of choices for each course, for 888B++.
The restaurant is in the Nimman area

The tax office is part of the government office complex at City Hall. My experience of the staff there is that they are very helpful. It is not necessary to hire someone to help you. However, it probably would be useful to take a Thai friend

that very few people would actually turn up
I was there. There were not "very few", but over one thousand, according to Thaiger. They were vaccinating fast, once you got to the vaccination station. The crowds were substantial and it took me about three and a half hours to go from the entrance to the exit because of the large numbers.

A brief follow up. When I originally posted about my experience, I did not know what would happen if your blood pressure remained high. Would you still be vaccinated? I now know from someone else's direct experience. He got vaccinated today in spite of his blood pressure remaining high.
Unfortunately, as those waiting for a vaccine probably know already, vaccine supplies in Chiang Mai are now very low, resulting in delays

A serious question, how do you know it was the AZ vaccine? Were you told that or did you actually see the vaccine packaging?
I saw Astra Zeneca labelling. Afterwards I received a message with the follow up appointment date and including the manufacturer, lot and serial number---see attached image

I believe the break point is systolic of 140. My blood pressure was above that initially, measured by an automated machine. After waiting about 15 minutes, my blood pressure was measured by a nurse using a different type (more accurate??) of machine and I passed. As might be expected in a group of older people, there were quite a number of people in the hold zone for testing. I saw some being retested and not given the go ahead, so presumably still too high. They then continued to sit in the hold zone, presumably for a further test. I do not know if those who could not pass were finally vaccinated or not.

Add your experience to this thread... Linked below.
Sheryl has set it up as a ‘go to source’ to identify the details of how, where, and which vaccine people have been getting.
I posted here as you suggested

Successful vaccination report
Province: Chiang Mai
Date: 12/6/21
Location: Sansai Hospital
Age etc.: Over 60
Registration method: Registered on Mor Prom using my pink ID card
Vaccine: Astra Zeneca
Efficient process. As far as I could see, I was the only foreigner. I was clearly an oddity because I could hear one of the nurses asking another whether it was OK for a farang to get the vaccine. I was treated with courtesy and consideration

I received an Astra Zeneca jab at Sansai Hospital this morning. I booked on the Mor Prom app using my pink ID card. All very efficient, although it took a couple of hours because of the number of people and my blood pressure being high at first (had to wait 15 minutes to measure it again and I passed this time). As far as I could see, I was the only foreigner. I was clearly a bit of an oddity because I heard one nurse ask another if farang could get vaccinated. I was treated throughout with courtesy and consideration---certainly no sign of resentment that foreigners were taking jabs that might go to Thais. I hope that all who want can get vaccinated soon

It puts you in the elevated position of being the target of all those on ThaiVisa.com who say the Pink ID card is completely useless and then accuse you of believing you have somehow become Thai !!!!
Its a handy ID to carry around instead of needing your passport.
The Yellow Book is the more useful part of the process and can be useful as a proof of address as some DLT’s etc
I registered for my Covid-19 vaccine using the Pink ID numbers (will see what really happens when I go for the vaccine next week).
This is a very accurate summary. The yellow book and pink card have their uses (in spite of the sometimes bizarre attacks from posters on Thaivisa...)

7 hours ago, Barley said:What is a yellow house registration book? I thought only an owner can get this, but maybe I am misinformed?
The normal house registration book is blue. Only Thais or those with a permanent resident visa are supposed to be listed in a blue book (although I do know of rare exceptions). It is not, strictly speaking, evidence of ownership but of living in a property (although the owner is usually the first or only listed person). So if you live in a property you could be listed in a house registration book, subject to the agreement of the owner. However, since you are non-Thai, you cannot be listed in a blue book. So, enter the yellow book, which looks just like the blue book except for the colour, and is for non-Thais. It will require your landlord's consent. Getting a yellow book is the usual route to the pink card. I hope this long-winded explanation is helpful

The requirements vary from amphur to amphur, so Jeffandgop's recommendation to go to the amphur office to ask is spot on. Whatever, it will be difficult, so be prepared to work to get it. It will most likely require the help of your landlord, as the person who controls the blue tabian baan (house registration book). Are you on good terms with your landlord?

possible useful information seems complete, you may not need all steps like the legalization by your embassy but it could be needed
Thank you very much for this link, which contains what looks like complete information, clearly presented

You need a translator certified by the Thai Government.
I got one a few years ago.
Will have to go dig up the paperwork and find the contact details.
Located in CNX near Maya - or was when I got mine
Thank you. I would appreciate it if you could find the contact details. What were you using the translation for?

I am helping a Thai friend of mine make an insurance claim from a US insurance company (Brighthouse, formerly Met Life). He was married to an American, who unfortunately died. The American had an annuity/life insurance policy naming my Thai friend as the beneficiary. We have submitted documentation already. The only remaining item that the company wants is a death certificate. We have sent them already the Report of the Death of an American Overseas, supplied and certified by the US Consulate, but this does not seem sufficient. Consequently, we need to send the Thai death certificate. I am sure they will need a certified translation. I am concerned that they will not accept a translation self-certified by the translator. But who else to certify it? Has anyone had experience with this?

I can recommend Chang Riep's shop. It does not look like much at all, but he does quality work. I have used him several times and always found his prices very reasonable and been happy with the result. However, I cannot give you an estimate for your job, because mine have been somewhat different (eg. including panel repairs). Put อู่ช่างเรียบ into Google Maps to find him. It is in the very general area of the Dhara Devi.
Unless your Thai is good, take a Thai speaker with you

Just send it back by registered mail. It will be tracked throughout the system so you will have evidence of it being delivered. Cheaper than the express services also
