He's not the first to pull that off, there was a more famous one than that, Netflix made a show about him even. Some Israeli guy if I remember rightly.

Yeah but that's not quite the same. The Thai government is just trying to offer what protection it can to its citizens. That in itself is commendable even if its not perhaps the best way to go about it.
-
But didn't Laos have to sign over land to the Chinese for this to be built and aren't they asking Thailand to do the same?

Gambling is a serious addiction for some Thais. I do hope they figure out a way to only allow those who can afford it to enter. On the other hand, having visited Las Vegas and Macau as a non-gambler, the professional entertainment was good and I understand why even families go.
As most employment in Macau seems to come from the casinos and related businesses (restaurants etc.), I doubt they can afford to end gambling.
I think that is the right way forwards yes. They could do things like show proof of funds, say 5000 baht, before being allowed entry or something like that. Dress code also, try and keep it all above board somehow.

But many thais go off to the border and play in them in Poipet, its been that way for decades. Many thais go to work there too because of it. They might as well give into demand and profit from it.

if you can make it over to the Darkside, there's a pool hall that just opened up within the past 6 months, looks good to me. "Khao Talo Cue Pool Hall"
Ah okay thanks. Wasn't showing video but does now. I shall try and locate it on the map.

I wonder how many more there are of them?

Apparently Hamas targeted them. Probably because they resent them taking jobs that used to go to Palestinians with border passes in years gone by.
That might well be true. I am in the region presently and they do look down on Asians also, no doubt about that.

Because Thais are the largest group of foreign migrant laborers in Israel
Is that true? Completely unaware of that before this whole thing blew up.

Good on him but I hope he's not planning to cycle back.

Rather foolish on his part, I wonder why he thought he could get away with that one?

I don't think so, I have to coordinate with others and children want to play. So unless they have content on youtube and a website I don't see why I should.
