Their website states that that maximum transaction is 150,000 Baht, is that correct do you know. If correct is it possible to make several transactions to that amount at once or is it the case that when you've hit 150,000 Baht, you can't exchange any further currency.

I follow what you are saying, though as I'm sure you know, we use the present perfect to talk about a period of time that continues to the present in English, which is why I chose -key (kery) rather than yung (still). Anyway, it's the sense of doing something intermittently that's important. I'll post any alternatives I can find.

Could someone tell me whether it is more profitable to exchange in the airport or in the city or do both offer the same rate? If it's more profitable in the airport, do they offer slightly better rates before or after immigration? If different rates are offered in the airport, could someone give me an idea of the difference.

I'm sure that any mall with computer shops and repairs would do it for you for a nominal fee. Ubuntu is a very slick operating system, it installs within minutes. If you're in BKK then Pantip plaza would have loads of places towards the back that would do that.

You might want to double check whether you need to burn to disc these days. Pretty sure its all exe files now.

The SBT is so far west of the city (just near the Western Ring road) that it is almost in another province! You can spend half that time getting there from the centre of town that you would travelling to Hua Hin.

I suggest you both consider taking the Airport Link to Phayathai (CityLine), the BTS to Victory Monument where you can take a new mini-van to Hua Hin which terminates at the centre of town near Phetkasem rd (companies have different locations). Vans leave every 20-30 mins and there are a couple of companies to choose from. Cost is 160-180 baht for the 2.5 hr trip.

The Airport Link/BTS/Van option could save you a couple of hours compared to going to the SBT especially given that the buses are slower. Also, if you take the govt bus their new terminal is some 4km south of the centre of Hua Hin.

Even if you have large bags, I suggest the van is a more time efficient & convenient option.

Yes, this is what I did last time. Much quicker way to get to Hua Hin as you are on the super highway in no time at all.

Advertise in the teaching section as well as this one and state exactly what you want (conversation, IELTS, e.g). Give an idea of how much you are willing to pay per hour also (e.g 400-600 an hour) and a rough idea of a schedule, for example 3 evenings a week for 2 months. I'm sure you'd find plenty of takers. You are using an adjective to describe the organization. You should use a predicative noun such as "a farce" instead. Now, if you can find a noun that means "farce" that would do it. Just giving a suggestion as to the direction. Take care.

Just an FYI to those who may want to know how much it should cost.

Never paid anything like that in 10 years. The going rate from BKK/swampy has always been 800-1000 + tollway charges. As a previous poster mentioned you should point that out in Thai, not English. If someone's asking you 1500, they are literally taking you for a ride.

I've been trying to translate the rather negative adjective 'farcical'. The sentence I have is 'The company's organization is farcical.'

However, I can only get na-hualort on line, which connotates quite differently. As we know, anything connected to fun (such as a farce) in Thailand is usually described in positive terms, but I need to find a word that can be used to described something negatively, not positively.

Can anyone help on this one?

Could someone briefly explain how I retrieve my tax number. I first worked in BKK about 19 years ago and have a few times since. I was once given a yellow card with my details on it but lost it a few years back.
