To expand, though I don't want to go into detail, I will have some use but not full use of the limb in question, unless I go through I rather expensive procedure, as mentioned. I can work but will not be fully able-bodied. I don't know know to do. I get the feeling that if I wait, I may be able to get some help but not much, it might be too late by then, there could be complications, as has already been pointed out, I was involved in a car accident, it was no fault of the employers. I have bones that are out of place and causing complications, again they won't stop me working but I won't be fully able-bodied.
Employer claims I must wait another 3 months for government insurance to come through. What I really want to know is why is my contract now being withheld? This can't be legal, surely. I am entitled to know what my rights are.

It's only government health insurance. I am able to work but have lost full use of one of my limbs. There is no straightforward procedure to correct it, owing to its nature and I do not want to pick up a large bill when my employer hasn't got the decency to hand over a contract.. Work visa process is only 3 weeks old. Permit is coming next week, so they claim.

Hi all, I've been in Thailand a few months and recently was involved in a car accident. It is beginning to look like I cannot get the medical attention I need here unless I am prepared to foot a 300,000 baht bill, and unfortunately my employer won't hand over a copy of the contract I signed, so that I can see exactly where i stand, as I may need to go back home to get medical attention I need.
Do I have a right to have a copy of the contract I signed, what is the ruling on this please.

Hi there, I will be going to Chennai and was wondering if anyone else has flown there from BKK. If so, who did you fly with and would you fly with them again?
-
Gulf Air have a reputation for over booking flights so dont buy the cheapeast fare with them or you could be bumped overseas. You dont want to get stuck in Abudabi.A dreadful place.
I thought Gulf's hub is Bahrein, now that the other former-shareholder-states have their own airlines, Abu Dhabi would be Etihad ?
Very true - Gulf Air - Bahrain, AUH - Etihad
Hi, I lived in the gulf region for years and flew with all the main carriers at least a dozen times. Gulf are okay, they are cheaper than the others and they are more likely to mess you around than the others but I think you'd have to be unlucky to be messed about. If you've got a 2 hour stopover, it will be in Bahrain, and you'd have maybe half an hour to do some shopping. They are generally pretty good with the short stopovers, so you should be alright.

Here's link to the same story appearing in The Guardian, the source is the AFP though.

As I'm sure you know, tofu is rich in protein and widely served in Thailand. Last week I had tofu in red curry which was very nice.

Yes, I have also been wondering about that.

Hello all, just to let you know that Bangkok Chess Club will now be on the second floor of the Queen VIctoria Pub on Sukhumvit Soi 23 on Friday evenings. We will still continue to play at the Bull's Head Sukhumvit 33/1 on Tuesday evenings, and a new academy has also opened opposite Seacon Square on Saturday afternoons if anyone is interested.

I think we need to ask how you had planned to use the word. There is a literal meaning of cliché, and derived meanings.
If you mean cliché in the sense 'You are such a cliché' or 'This is such a cliché situation' then I don't think you'd be able to use สำนวนซ้ำซา, however if you want to point out a word or phrase that people will say over and over again, then it would work.
Yes, I was looking for a word or phrase that is said over and over again.
Thanks

What's that expression about a fool and his money again?
-
Actually, ignore that, I've just realized I've been there.

Bella Napoli, Soi 31
Was it authentic Italian? Price?
thanks

Could someone tell me what cliché is in Thai.
Thanks

Could someone recommend a good Italian restaurant in Bangkok. Would prefer something with an Italian chef and home cooking but am open to all offers. I went to one in Sathorn called Lido which was good but nothing special. Meal for 4 with budget of 2000 Baht. .

I've visited Supailai, you get stuck in a horrendous traffic jam near a nasty Phahontothin junction when you leave it and the apts are pretty small, certainly less than 55 sqm, if memory serves me correctly 39.sqm. They've always been over-priced.
-
-
You could get a room for that price in that area but it would be pretty basic. If you don't mind a longer walk you could try the ymca. They charge around that price, the rooms are very nice but it's the other side of town though.

In what sense is this a success story? I hope that's not all you learnt in 6 months.

I racked my brain, and came up empty on this one so I asked some colleagues. The nearest they could get to open up a can of worms was ฟื้นฝอยหาตะเข็บ. I had never heard this before, but reading the definition, it would seem to fit in certain instances.
Cheers mate.

An alternative might be don't buy into the 'we are all rational creatures platitude'. If someone claims to occasionally like something and then juxtapose that with it's opposite, they are exercising nothing more than one of the daily choices and idiosyncrasies that help define us. Logic doesn't enter the picture lett alone being female or Thai; therefore, you have misdescribed your wife's habits.
The ball is now in your court: how to understand your wife... .

Is he showing the game?
If so, where is the bar?
-
It's on sky and there's no other football, so hopefully someone will be. Wetherspoons on soi borkhao is reliable but I don't know if they are showing it.

Last time I used it was during karaoke session. The Vengaboys have a hit that goes 'Boom boom, boom boom...'
