  1. Getting tired of True Vision, for many reasons.

Is there any legal (paid for) ways to watch football streamed from the internet when I am in Thailand?

Or am I forced to watch it via True Vision?

Note, I am NOT interesting in streaming sites where I would need a VPN.

  2. I have seen on several other news outlets, not even a nice story like this will make many of the "losers" among the expats here at least smile for a second.

The comments here are as always from these "losers" as sour as they can be. Normally based upon own failures in several areas in their lives.

Most of us can not even imagine what they went through during those weeks.

Come on, let these boys have their nice trip after their ordeal.

    Enjoy your trip boys.

Im sure the British Embassy will give all the help his family needs in getting this poor lads body home.

I am sorry but that will a surprise. Most countries do NOT help much with shipping bodies back. The number of British who die in Thailand every year will create an entire Department for just this logistics if the embassy should help with out with this. They probably give advice, etc.

    Feeling for his family.

Many companies still pay out life insurance/travel insurance despite the fact the deceased committed suicide. let's hope this is also the case here.

  4. Greetings fellow members.

I have some from my family visiting me in KKC for time being.

One of them is interesting in a สักยันต์ - Sak Yant tattoo.

Anyone know if there is a place (temple, etc) in KKC area where it (the tattoo) can be done, and the price range?

    thnx

Adopted the name Mohammed ? Sheesh, Muslims must have special book with 200 pages for M names and 1/2 page for all other Alphabet names.

It is the most common name in the world.

Muslims, just like Christians, do not have a book with all the names.

I think that is more a national thing.

    Anyway,

I wonder when this guy are getting older, if he looks back with pride in his adventures, or what his family think these days when they read about him.

  6. Top of my head, if they would monitor the criticisms of the Junta many of us do, or slagging off the locals and Thai stuff in general.

    It might be an issue?

Again, I guess the ones who can answer that will be ThaiVisa.

  7. I read online The Nation has been bought up by a so called ultra conservative news agency.

T News, an ardently ultra-royalist and pro-junta on both the editorial page and its daily coverage???

If this is the case, will this have an impact on this Forum? After all, we sometimes can be a bit too......well we know.

  8. My second post was a bit Trollish, I admit that.

But, yes except for a couple of "nightclubs" it is amazing how quiet a Saturday night could be.

Of course, if one need a few hours out when socializing in Udon Thani, one should go out earlier in the evening.

  9. It is fine, I found out.

Indeed this sleepy city send its citizens to bed as early as possible.

A couple of places open after midnight.

Hardly the city which never sleeps.

The true place where old elephants go to, before they die.

Probably duty free but extra profit.

Duty free simply means the vendor -- and hence the shopper -- doesn't pay some/all of the import duties applied to items brought into the country.  There's nothing to forbid them from adding an equal, or higher, amount on as added profit.

Ehmmmmm, kind of knew that already.

Tried to make a silly joke in regards to the duty free issue.

It  did not work, So solly.

  11. Took a trip to Udon Thani city with friends and family.

We went out for some beers and drinks after dinner, and we found an area with many beer bars near Centara Hotel.

But would you not believe it, they all started to close down around midnight.

At approx 1 am the Police showed up to force them to close.

Is this the Udon official closing hours?

Like you make a joke about the appearance of people walking past. Thais laugh. Farangs get all ashamed and pc and some get outraged by mere words.

    That is true.

But most Thais laugh at the situation, not always the person.

The famous example is if you slide on a banana peel, and they will laugh at the situation, together with you. Not at you.

problem is that when you delete history/cache it will come back as the setting is probably stored in a cookie.

What they should do is allow you to pick a specific region when you sign in to chrome and it defaults automatically.

Why these tech companies do this just to everyone,

    Thank you for that one.

One more thing I didn't know.

And, one more thing I learned.

  14. Strict instruction to wife:

Do NOT ship my dead body back to my home country. Waste of money.

Incinerate me, and put me in a wall somewhere, or just drop the ashes as she wishes.

Big party. Anyone crying must be escorted out of the party in order to not to change the party mood.
