  1. Getting tired of True Vision, for many reasons.

Is there any legal (paid for) ways to watch football streamed from the internet when I am in Thailand?

Or am I forced to watch it via True Vision?

Note, I am NOT interesting in streaming sites where I would need a VPN.

  2. Top of my head, if they would monitor the criticisms of the Junta many of us do, or slagging off the locals and Thai stuff in general.

    It might be an issue?

Again, I guess the ones who can answer that will be ThaiVisa.

  3. I read online The Nation has been bought up by a so called ultra conservative news agency.

T News, an ardently ultra-royalist and pro-junta on both the editorial page and its daily coverage???

If this is the case, will this have an impact on this Forum? After all, we sometimes can be a bit too......well we know.

  4. All sites, yes absolutely ALL SITES who rate the hotels and are involved in some way of selling or advertising for them, are adding an extra star.

This is nothing new, as they will try to select not too many poor reviews which might downgrade the hotel they try to promote.

Always prepare for at least a star less than expected.

Yes, i noticed that even in 5 star hotels in Thailand the stewardess are either yelling to each other from one end of the corridor, to the other, starting 6 am. or they use their God damn walkie talkies on max volume, just outside your door, also at 6 am.

  5. Heading to Manila next month.

Actually, to Makati, to be accurate.

Not been there for more than a year, so I wonder if it is business as usual, despite war on drug users and the martial law down south?

Anything particular a regular tourist should be extra aware of these days?

    Appreciate comments and advice.

    thnx

  6. Always had Chang (strong type) when sitting outside in hot weather, as one ice cube didn't dilute too much.

Leo tastes like water, and Singha has a strange aftertaste.

The new (if it is new) Chang Classic is my new favorite (no ice since lower %).

No you did not understand I quoted someone saying can'tthey just stamp it and send it to him. my reply was stamp what he took his passport with him.

Yes I know about getting extra work done ie photo copies but if the chap was handed all his paperwork back and passport surley he should have known something was amiss.

    I see your point.

    :-)

I remember myself the first time I did this, alone, with minimum understanding, I must have looked like a less developed person.

Stamp what exactly? as he left with passport and all paper work?? seems odd as when immigration look at paper work they never give it back unless there was a problem with it.? and they stamp passport ect before they give it back.

Doesn't sound quite right to me.

The stamp is a proof that you have more days here.

    ;-)

On several occasions, people were told to go and copy something more, including myself.

I needed to make an extra copy of my passport together with the departure card.

This resulted in the people, including me, took all their paperwork and passport with them.

In the meantime a new number comes up on the board, and a new applicant comes forward.

When the previous applicant comes back, he/she basically just hand over to the same (now busy) officer, then take another seat to wait for the passport (with a new stamp in it).

As to the kind remark in ID 11. Thank you.  I believe most members here, despite our sometimes very heated arguments, would do the same.
