I live in Pattaya holding a retirement visa. In 2007 I already left 3 times for the Philipines, everytimes with a previously obtained reentry visa. Never a problem upon return at Suvannaphumi. Never a problem at the immigration in Pattaya. If the 90 days control day was in between my stay in the phils I went to the immigration the day after my return. The 90 days were easily renewed as from that day after my return. When the 90 days period ended after my return I did nothing, just went there when the 90 days ended. Is Pattaya more foreigner friendly?

big deal, just showbusiness - who cares?

What is this story about to tell us? Yes, even members of the diplomatic corps are human beings and have to resume local studies once in a while. Hony soit qui mal y pense!
-
another sad story. The guy must have simply planned it. Faked spaniard? If I read that I know the whole thing was a setup. So we have to recognize that he just came here intentionally to kill a woman. I hope his Allah will punish him too

I just dont believe it.´We had announcements like that so many times. But maybe reality proves me wrong

oh oh, that is really bad news here. After Samui now here. This will not improve tourism from nowhere. Especially young women will stay away. Another "Thailand special"

hi folks,
anyone knows by chance a bus service and eventually schedule from Suvannaphumi to Pattaya?
-
I can get most of the sites in Europe, but quite slowly and I have to print the headers directly. Google still not reachable here in Thailand
-
folks, this is Thailand. Are you really surprised?

having been a lucky guys who flew on one of the last ,,cheaper,, flights from Utapao to Samui and back, in future I surely will consider a bus ticket or will go by car. just in order to boycott that airline. Anyway you need them only if you want to go to Samui due to their monopoly.
-
why don´t you guys just stick to the rules and you will have no problems. But the "smaries" will never stop trying.

Congratulation to all involved, also to the team "can do" from Munich airport who organized the whole thing. I wish this airport all times smooth operating without any accidents.

Most of these women are over 18, but he says that young teenage girls walk the streets looking for customers, while underage boys are offered up as 'masseuses'.
I along with 99.9% of people abhor paedophilia, but I personally have never seen it being touted around the streets of Pattaya.
I would love somebody to take one of these NGO spokesmen to task about showing evidence when making statements like this. If they could actually provide evidence I am sure the police would arrest the perpretrators and the problem would cease to exist, and the reputation of Pattaya would eventually improve also.
But unfortunately these people never actually seem to be very good at providing evidence, just good stories.
I think we all agree that child abuse is evel and should be punished. But some of them NGO`s could not exist with their good jobs, salary, fringe benefits etc. if they would not keep the topic cooking. I am also living here for about 4 years but - admittedly never looking for it - never came across this business whereas in Pnom Penh I had those offers for children at the first evening.

What a world. So much despair and death these days. Or is it only because we have the ,,total information,, that we think there are so many incidents?
In my condo in Pattaya yesterday a 40 year old Dutch man was found. He had cut his wrist arteries and was lying there in his blood already for some days.
My condolences are with any of the violently passed away ones and their families.
-
folks, I don´t think we need to avoid neither Kanchanaburi nor other places. I think both incidents have their reason as already posted here and have nothing to do with the actual geographical location.
-
Hi Artisi, just google Wagga Wagga and you will find the place in Australia

As long as thay ban the alcohol on ministry premises I dont mind and care. But if they would not let me have my beer along with a meal, I certainly would.
But I dont worry, Chang and Singh will wave with disoccupation of their employees. That helps in most of the cases.

remember folks: nobody is as forgettable as a tourist. And if the flightprice is ok, they will come again. It has been like this with all the desasters before... Som nam na

it is very simple. The father of the Samui girl is a ,,big shot,, in England with quite some political power. And Mr. T. cannot hide any more. So he had to do something. Bad enough and it does not help the girl from Samui.

at least I for my ip here in Thailand cannot open this page. It says server not found??????

Well folks, I think the whole "tradition" has perverted and is now a contradiction in itself.
Besides the enormous waste of water in a country that is making any effort to save it. Why? To waste it on songkran? I am really sad about this abuse of a good and sincere custum.
-
It is only my third Songkran period in los, but for the last two years I decided to stay at home. It is just safer. Fully equipped with food supply and dvd`s I am quietly looking forward to a peaceful Songkran. On 14th I will surface again.
What Are You Planning To Do During Songkran?
