  1. Peoples who may be called " long-term tourist " should be able to get a proper visa and such visa runs are not legal at all.

If there are not able to do a proper visa without visa runs it means there are not honest for me.

i come here with triple TR visa that allows me to stay up to 9 months including 3 extensions at 1900 thb (5700THB) and then add several ranong-runs in order to stretch my stay with a 1,5 months till i fly back to home for a quick state of affairs ? what exactly is dishonest about that ?

If you got your visa from the embassy as I guess and it looks like, you are not concerned, as I am focused on "long term tourist " which came here with 4 weeks tourist visa and than making border runs.................and included as I read already before peoples on ED visas and haven't seen any school.........

  2. Very good comment and is almost same as I already said weeks ago , he is also responsible for this mess while he was PM .

Abhisit shouldn't slam anyone. The floods were going on when he was PM and he didn't do anything either except ride around in a boat and have his picture taken. He's a slime ball. He's still crying because he was thrown out of the PM position and can't stand it that the people do not want him. Except the Bangkok elite of course.

  3. It's well known the volume is larger then the previous years, but why they trying to blame the actual Governement only as the previous years there was not a better flood management visible , remember that. Work together would be better than looking for, who is guilty.

PM: Flood Crisis out of Govt's Control

The prime minister admits the flood situation has spun out of her government's control given the water volume is extremely larger than in past years.

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said the flood situation has already worsened beyond the government's control as the volume of floodwater is larger than that in previous years and she is only a part of the system in charge of resolving the problem.

    As the volum

Yingluck admitted related agencies must work more systematically and cooperation from all parties is needed to tackle the current crisis.

The prime minister maintained the information given by the Flood Relief Operations Center is accurate and extensive, but the comments made by relevant parties may be different so the center will provide information in the form of an official statement.

Yingluck said she is not sure if Bangkok's Don Muang District will be submerged under one to two meters deep water as suggested by Science and Technology Minister Plodprasop Surasawadee while adding she is unable to determine which areas of the capital will be inundated.

She remarked the drainage gates of canals 1 to 6 in Pathum Thani's Rangsit District are opened now to help ease the floods in their vicinities.

She pledged the government will do its utmost to protect inner Bangkok from flooding.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki Moon called the prime minister to discuss aid for Thailand's flood crisis.

  5. Sunbelt was used by myself in July and it was without problems. I arrived by a tourist visa on 7th of July and 12th of July i had appointment in Bangkok (only one place where you can change TR vis to Non Imm 0 ) at 10 am and before 12 Lunchtime i left with my receipt and the hearing date about one week later 19th of July.I had all my documents as per list send by Sunbelt and the Bankletter from the day before but i had to update the Bankletter in the basement of the building because of one typing error in the Bank account number ( one number too much) I got my 3 months non imm 0 on 19th of July and after 2 months and 1 day I made the retirement extention in Khon Kaen withhin 1 hour and of course with an new updated Bankletter with the statment my money is there over 3 months before. But do not forget to apply for the multi entry in same time.

I am in Iraq at the moment. I was hoping to head to Thailand when I finnish work here. Not looking forward to a trip to the states and back again. I had talked to Sunbelt about 3 years ago and they told me there was a way to change the tourist visa to a O or A . But then they are Lawyers so can you trust them? So what you are saying I have to head to the states to get one and then to Thailand?

  6. You are all youngsters. I had my first child (she's now 16 months old) at 58 years old (wife was then 35). Always wanted one but my first wife (married for over 30 years and together for 20 of those) did not for medical reasons.

My daughter is wonderful, my wife is a great mother and it's fantastic to have the time, money and energy to see her grow up in a secure and comfortable environment.

I have no problems if you think that is too old or disgusting or whatever. Thankfully there is no law against it and I plan on sticking around for a lot longer than the average western male (let alone Thai male) does in a relationship.

I fully agree with you , my first daugther (with my Thaiwife) is 17months old and the last Babygirl 2 weeks old now and my age is 57 . I feel very confortable to have more time and money now and in a couple of years while retired to spend this time with the 2 Girls which will be fantastic.

  7. I was born in Germany with shnow on the roof where we had broken tiles and since this time i am looking for warm climates.

To live in Thailand give me the opportunity to wear shorts and outside my Home also T-shirts. Only, while riding my Bike i am dressed with JeansBoots Helmet and Jacket for my own safety.

And for offical receptions i wear long trousers but short sleeve shirts .

This is a confortable feeling which i do not want to miss for the rest of my live.

  8. After getting divorced in France and without too much money i found back the good way of live , good job goo money and by chance i came 5 years ago and i found here my Paradise , i am married again since 3 years with a beautiful Girl in Issan where i meat her and we have a beautiful daughter a beautiful house a big pool which one can be used 12 months per year , live is cheaper no taxes same as in France or Germany (where are my origins) and my house was 10 times cheaper than in Europe and it's enough for the rest of my life. I can ride my Bike anytime of the year and the rain is not an obstacle for that. Another Baby girl is coming next month and i will be retired after 6 years. to enjoy my second life..........................!!! No reasons to move away back to my homeland.

  9. Many stories like that are happen everywhere in Thailand. My best friend form Germany has the same problem with his Mother in Law. He got married with my Wifes Cousin.

And they were thinking he will do same as i did, buid a House with pool etc........He didn't and he couldn't but he pay 4000 baht a month to her Mother.

I seam to lucky as my Wifes Mother gave me Money , once even 30000Baht and she said i maybe need it as i spend a lot of money to build our House. Unfortunatly she passed away a couple of weeks ago.

But in Thailand it's many times like that when they see a Farang a lot of Thais they imagine we are all rich.:jap:

  10. It's TRS branded Pool Salt.

    25 Kgs bags

    Collect 150 Bhat

Deliver 170 Bhat (Minimum order depeding on location)

You are near Phu Wiang selling Salt for the pool and do you know where is a Company for pool maintenace around Phu Wiang or Khon Kaen.

I am not far away from you and you price looks good.

Let me know where i can find your shop and i will be there in middle of March.

  11. They are either lazy, misinformed, or trying to scam you...maybe all three. Don't buy a bike unless it can be put in your name unless you want to carry the risks, like the bike disappearing. You can get the bike insured when it's not in your name, I have done this before no problem, but that should be moot if you follow my and the other posters recomendations.

    yepp

its rather common for girls to make the shop have you understand the bike should for some reason be in her name. If you want to give her a bike, do it. I did with my first GF here and we lived together for 6 more years.

If you want to be sure to keep the bike provide 2 documents:

    1. Copy of passport

    2. Certificate of Residence, normally provided by Immigration

everything needed to have it easily registered in your name. :)

    Good luck

One question for myself. I am coming only by tourist visas since 3 years as i never exceed 4 weeks. May i get the bike on my name as i only can show the residence book of my Wife ?

  13. Hi Westerner,

I am in a very similar position as Pseacraft reply, flying Etihad Bkk-AUh-Bkk return each month and can confirm that to date it is exactly as Pseacraft commented.

I have not heard about SKY lounge either and when I last came through (14th Jan) I was directed to Royal Orchid lounge (either one) at E aisle.

And yes, again similar to Pseacraft experience, I was given a fast track card to by-pass all the queues at PP control and was through in 2 minutes. I believe this fast track is also available for arrivals into Bangkok so the Passport controller informed me.

    Hope this helps....................... :o RayBan

    Hi,

I just arrived yesterday in Bangkok and i can confirm it's very good to use this fast track.
