I’m thinking about adding solar to my house. I live out near Lake Maprahchan in Banglamung Chonburi. I’ve got 4 inverter aircon units, and my PEA bill is usually ~6K baht per month. Plenty of roof area and unobstructed sun exposure. while I appreciate all of the DIY info and ideas on this forum, I know full well that I do not have the skills to undertake such a project on my own. I’m probably looking at a hybrid system with at least enough battery to get me thru the usual power outages, if not take me off the grid 90% of the time. I have a digital meter, sadly, so no expectation I will be a position to sell power back to the utility. Any recommendations for contractors? Any particularly useful websites for me to guesstimate sizing? Any particular equipment types/brands to look for or avoid? thanks!!

Unless it is a service dog, a dog this large has to be shipped as freight and cannot travel as checked luggage. There are companies that will facilitate this for you, but most will use KLM as they have a special facility to process cargo animals for food, water, and relief. Be prepared for this to be expensive.

Individual consulates can and do make up their own rules. Would not surprise me is a Canadian consulate required by insurance. The can only go by my own experience with LA, and no insurance required for a non-O the benefit of getting the non-O before entering the country’s you can easily get a back account to process the extension. No need to do the whole agent extortion routine.

I did it 2 1/2 years ago via the LA consulate. technically, you just get a generic non-O visa, which is good for 90 days. Then you extend it in-country to a non-O based on retirement. Got the bank account as soon as I could anfer arrival. no insurance requirement
