  1. She has no job as i have paid for her to stay home with her family and work there.

Will this be a problem as she has no regular income from a job?

And no real good enough reason to state she will return to los apart from to take care of family. Is this good enough?

I'm not sure what the requirements are for the UK, but getting to the USA would be very, very difficult under the above circumstances (maybe impossible). Even showing a house registration is not enough. The evidence needs to be compelling. Taking care of a family isn't enough.

I recommend contacting the British Embassy in Bangkok (or looking at their website) to get more info.

  2. Oh, yes!

    Monrak Transistor (very good)

(both by Khun Pen-ek, the director of Last Life in the Universe)

an old Thai movie called Angle Hotel and another called My Wife's Sister. You might be able to find these at Mang Pong or 7-11 (or on the street!)

  3. Last Life in the Universe is quite good--I've watched it four times already. It's a totally atypical Thai movie--no katoeys, no "outrageous" gays, ghosts, or shrieking soap opera type acting. It has a very dreamlike plot; beautiful cinematography (by a mainstay of Hong Kong film, Christopher Doyle) employing alot of neutral muted colors, natural light, long composed shots. The dialogue is almost non-existent leaving mood to illustrate the characters' lives. Yes, it's not for those whose film diet subsists on explosions, car chases, etc (nothing wrong with those, of course). The script was co-written with young Thai author Prabda Yoon.

    I also liked Fan Chan.

Fake is supposed to be good.

    One Night Husband

    Jan Dara

I like the film called Three as well. It's comprised of three films by three different directors from Thailand, Korea, and Hong Kong (C. Doyle is the cinematographer on this one). Unfortunately the Thai contribution is the least interesting.

  4. Geeit,

If you're seriously considering working in Thailand I'd suggest brushing up on your spelling skills--whether you're a native English speaker or not.

ok cool, things are starting to make more sence now, Looking faward to seeing those amazing krabi locations.

I fnayof you guys have any other usfull info about living in thai that would be great.

Generally Thais are employed as instructors/guides, etc. Since you don't know anything about where you're moving how successful could you possibly be finding work legally? It seems though that you just might be qualified to teach English!

    :o

Nevertheless you can coast for quite awhile on 200,000+ baht. Have fun!
