  1. Well done and glad to see a family sticking together like this. Fraud and corruption in Thailand is rampant. Living like a fiefdom in 2015 is unacceptable. Thailand needs to repair it's reputation by adhering to due diligence and the rule of law. mind you this goes on in just about any other country but still it doesn't make it right.

  2. I was attacked with a blunt object and unconscious in a BKK klong. Night in hospital 22 stitches. Checked myself out next day. Doc gave me antibiotics and told me to have it dressed and checked for infection. Private hosp checked every day 'No infection' they said 'Healing nicely' they said. Lol. At the end of the week went back to original doc who was shocked and said another 24 hours and infection would have been fatal. Three times they unstitched the wound and ..........wont go into it but two rare types of infection only found in BKK klongs. Ewwwww

  3. Seems reasonable to me. I lived in the Netherlands almost 20 years and last November I had to go back to take 7 hours worth of cultural integration tests to prove I knew I wasn't supposed to park my camel in the front lawn, slaughter goats in the house, shoot guns in the air to celebrate weddings or New Years , let religious leaders mutilate my daughters genitals and that I knew the proper way to cut in line.

Yep, nothing racist, bigoted or marginal in that comment

  4. Those vans are the best idea, you can go almost everywhere in them. Problem is the idiot drivers, who seem to make up the largest percent of them. Last November took one to Trat and back. Never again, I don't even consider them an option anymore. As a result, I am stuck in Bangkok more, but at least I am alive (because nothing in Bangkok has killed me yet either 55!)

last i checked they still had big modern aircondition buses to trat from ekkamai, last i too one in that direction i had no qualms with the bus drivers driving.

Last I checked, this was a thread about vans.

Last I checked the poster was making a valid point about alternatives sheesh!

  5. Deport them both, there is enough hot headed farang idiots in the country as it is. If you are involved in a fight and use weapons your visa should be cancelled and stamped never to return. Might make some farangs act a little more civil if they know boom boom is going to be cut off.

They are not farangs, they are Turks. Famous with knifes. Let them finish the fight

"They are not farangs"? <deleted> does that mean? Are they not human?

  6. I can remember back in the West End of London some years ago, when the Turks and Cypriot unlicensed mafia type gangs tried to monopolise the mobile hamburger and hot dog stands, soft drinks street vendor sales and ice cream van areas. Anyone they considered intruding on their turf was either threatened, beaten up and even murdered in some cases.

This is how these people operate and have done so for decades in many countries all over the world.

Best to clamp down on these people now before they have a chance to gain footholds here, if they haven`t done so already?

Umm, it was an ice cream stand ff sake. i can see an ice cream stand bringing down the moral fibre of Pattaya where so many upstanding citizens choose to live. What a joke you guys are really

And they make it in a way that they never pay tax. They open up Doner Kebab shops, first year tax free. Then another family member, or friend stakes over and another one year free of tax.

This is the norm in Germany, at places like Berlin, you'll find whole areas where Turkish people have their own world, selling Turkish products.

They go to their mosques, don't want to have anything to do with Germany, not speak the language, all they need is the money from Germany.

Dear mods, this is not an Anti Muslim post, just the truth how other nationalities do "business" while their own citizens have to pay half of their income for people like them.

Who's to blame? The politicians who let this happen. wai2.gif

Me being a staunch anti racist and hate having to say this; but this time have to totally agree with you on this one, because having worked in Spain and other European countries have witnessed this first hand myself. Back in the mid 1980s many Spanish retailers and business people grouped together and declared war on the illegal Turkish, Cypriot and some Greek food vendors, especially in the tourist areas. They never got the chance to gain footholds and become established in some parts of Spain.

Regarding the Thai authorities, they must see the storm before the hurricane and stamp out these illegal practices and undesirables in Thailand now. But please kindly note, this does not mean that all Turkish and Cypriot people are potential illegal business operators, quite the opposite in fact as most are decent, hard working, law abiding folk, just that in these cases the gangs are mostly of Turkish and Mediterranean origin.

Hmm, maybe go and see who are begging on the streets in Europe, the drugs, bag snatching, it ain't the Turks, what a lot racist gasbags. Thailand can really benefit from your barstool expertise.

  8. The real French are having honest and peaceful holidays in Kata and Karon. These guys are Arabs and North Africans with French passports, bringing their good-for-nothings from France to Thailand. I am sure the French are very happy to see these "French" locked up in a thai jail for a very long time.

    .

yeah no real French criminals hey, just Muslims, you guys are a joke do you ever read what you write?

  9. Having had the great opportunity to own a bar or two around the world and not defending this guy at all but you can very easily be set up by local cops in the pay of a competitor or just someone who doesn't like you. In my first cafe I had to search behind the cushions every time one of my competitors came in, he would leave drugs all the time just before the bar got searched by the local Jandarmerie. But we were always onto him and the bag went into the canal (on 5 separate occasions) 10 minutes before they walked in.

Not saying he is innocent and it doesn't state whether or not he has pleaded guilty or not guilty but in Thail;and there is always that lingering doubt that the corrupt police system is at work.

  10. Unless they're unfortunate enough to be either physically or mentally challenged and can't earn for themselves, I've never understood why beggars think I should go to work and then give them some of the proceeds so that they don't have to. There's enough unfortunates in Thailand without scum like this guy leeching off the public.

    Hope he gets deported.

I think he said he was raising money for a decent cricket team to replace the one losing the Ashes in Australia at the moment.....cheesy.gifbiggrin.pngtongue.pngcoffee1.gif

  11. The money involved in this is astounding.

Two of my neighbours are paid 2000THB per day to attend this fiasco in BKK. 2000thb!!!!!!!bah.gif

Wonder how many would show up if no money was paid and they went because they BELIEVED in this cause?

All of my Thai friends attending the rally have not been nor would contemplate accepting any money to attend. It's a load of rubbish, 2k baht a day.

  12. Big lesson to learn here is................. Don't bother telling it on a Thai Visa forum because there maybe those that are sympathetic but there are also those who naturally assume you've done something wrong and aren't telling us the whole story so will make up there own. Don't ya just love it! rolleyes.gif

  13. Yep, think it's absolutely panic stricken bull****. Innocent people thinking some evil force is out there to do them harm. Working in tourism and having flown countless and more often than not dodgy flights I may have had my bags tampered with but never ever had anything added to my bags.

I too have flown many thousands of miles and lived and worked in many countries, some a lot more "dangerous" than Thailand, but I have never been kidnapped and held to ransom by the local plods....

    Whats your point ?

Because it is all complete crap...that being the point

  14. Huh? Bangkok customs would have been the ones to make the arrest. They avoided Bangkok customs by going to the Hotel
