I have a question. My GF is Thai of course. If I take a job in Germany, how likely is it that I can get her into Germany. I am American. I checked out some info on the Schengen visa before but I still don't know. I have not found anything too clear on an American in Germany. TV is the greatest, thanks - Sunn

None of this is new news. The entire reason for the the Prism story at this time is to take attention away from the IRS crimes and also to a lesser extent try to save Holder's job because he lied (again) under oath about the AP crimes.

I wanted to ask something, I think all the Neg's are not peculiar to Thai people, but more so to poor people. I'm not afraid to say it. I've been poor and all things equal not poor is better. So maybe if someone wants to talk about Thai people, in Issan 90%, is it really NE TH or just poverty?

The thing is, on the left, at the end of the day in nearly every case, is the objective of obtaining money, usually through taxes but there are other strategies also. Who does this money go to? In nearly every case, it goes to people who have not earned it and don't have it. And since roughly 30% of people and businesses pay 80% of taxes, it's the non-earner have nots that benefit from more taxes. Add in the estimated Govt. waste of more than 50% (my estimate is about 70%), and you have an unsustainable system that is likely to collapse at some point.

The right is not perfect, I don't want them in my bedroom or anywhere else. I'm for less of all forms of Govt. Heck, I just found out this week about a $ 400 an hour secretary. I mean administrative secretary, you know, word docs, a spreadsheet or 2 ? Yep $ 16,000 a week billing rate to the Govt. She makes $ 65,000 (a year).

I'm a little confused as to whether Syria/Assad is Sunni or Shia, I guess I'll have to look it up. Saddam had contracts out of both Sr. and W for real. You can read the lead up to the war on Wiki. It is far from simple as some seem to think. Does anyone know what this thing is ? My best guess is a roast or ham holder. The larger bar is about 38 Cm tall. We have no idea though. It kind of looks like some kitchen gadget. We received with some other items we bought, this just came with the lot.

I bought a $ 60 USD ticket from BKK to Phnom Phen on Air Asia as insurance once. Turned out I did not needed and I almost used it anyway.

I got held up by United one time in the States for my return ticket was 7 months later. I ended up buying a full fare return right there at the counter! Luckily I had left myself a couple hours spare. I was at the counter for an hour and finally one of the 4 agents involved suggested I buy the full fare. I don't recommend, I easily canceled it later of course. Next long term I did a year later, I bought an Air Asia ticket from BKK (Probably Don Muang, can't remember) to Phen Pnom Phen for about $ 60 USD. Of course this time no one said anything (Asiana).

You must have really made them mad! I say that because, last year, I bought a Google Nexus 7 tablet. Within a month after somehow through synching with my Google calendar, all my calendar data disappeared. I went on the Google Calendar group, they tried to help me, they have something called Span Undelete, and a few other tricks. Nothing. So I mail back this nice agent who tried to help me, I email back over 10 times begging them to restore my data. Nothing

So I'm subscribed to this group and get multiple messages every week by people whom the same has happened. So a couple of them, I reply back (to the group mind you), tell my sad story in a polite way. I stopped after I started thinking, what if G kicks me off !

Yeah let me tell you what's it's like standing on the side of the road at a check point going into the Green Zone in Baghdad while some underpaid cop walks around the up armored SUV with a shoebox with a coat hanger sticking out of it! I tried my best to like Yingluck, especially since she went to Uni in Kentucky I believe. But like Margaret Thatcher said, Socialism is great until you run out of other people's money.

Most consumable and durable items new here in the US are up in price 10% or more over the last 18 months. Gas = $ 3.25 down from $ 3.90 but still nearly double 4 years ago. A decent sandwich = $ 9.00 ($ 8.99, ha ha). Many individual items I have seen myself up around 10%. And remember food and energy do not count in the US inflation rate! What a joke!

Central banks are piling in gold, accelerating purchases, not slowing. China is circumventing the USD every chance it gets with Russia, Iran, AU, and many others. Yep, gold is down a bit, about 15% over 12 months and probably will go down 1 or 2. Meanwhile Apple was off 5.5% today. Starting to get the picture? Gold can be manipulated in the short term but not in the long term.

It will be very difficult for the West to come back to where they were even 10 years ago. The numbers just add up.

You can checkout Visa Journey website about visa's the the US. I've never heard of any but the most privileged of Thais getting a tourist visa but I don't know all that many who have come to the US. A student visa yes, but getting a tourist visa is far more difficult but it sounds from the other posters like it is not impossible.

I read a story of it recently, like last week. It's money, in some places like Argentina where they have currency controls and raging (like 100% a year) inflation. The thing is, the story said, the value of the bitcoin goes up and down, a lot. I don't know much else, I think they are just virtual somehow. But they are accepted in some places as real value trades.

Oh Guys! I am probably going to marry my 43 yo TGF this year! If she goes bonkers I don't think I can take it. I'm 54. We've spent a lot of time together, 8 months living in her room once not long ago (a nice room as far as rooms go) and we only had about 2 or 3 big fights so not too bad. She, and most women if you ask me, get angry about silly things but that's the way of the woman!

I was thinking on this topic even before I read this. I'll just have to take the chance, younger gals are OK with me for fun but I like my GF at her age so I hope she does not change too much!
