  1. Whilst some of the immigration officers in Thailand dont look to happy I'd rather go through immigration there than in America!

I once had one direct me to another queue where my father was to take something over to the other immigration officer and he watched me all the way there and back with his hand ready placed on his weapon - Land of the Free.

  2. What annoys me about flight attendants.

Most are great but a small number give them a bad name (as in any proffesion)

I was flying back from Thailand once in cattle class and on an aisle seat the person in the seat in front of me reclined their seat and went to sleep. I thought the seat was great because his reclined so far and was looking forward to my meal and then getting some sleep myself. When the meals came along it became apparant the seat in front of me was broken and reclined way to far as I could not get to eat my meal without the seat back hitting the food. I asked the flight attendant to wake the person so that I could eat. They replied ' He's asleep we cant wake him.'

At this point it became apparant I could not even get out of the seat as the back of the other seat blocked me.

The flight attendants didnt even care when I handed them my food back telling and showing them I couldnt eat it. I was basically told its my choice!

In the end so that I could go to the lavatory I had to push the seat back up with my knees. At this point the customer in front complained to the flight attendants as I woke him up. The senior flight attendant came over and attempted to tell me off for my actions. I pointed out that because of their staff and the lousy state of the (thai Airways) plane I had not been able to eat, get up and go to the lavatory etc. No apologies to me were forthcoming and they decided to move the (fat) man in front up to first class.

I have never flown Thai airways again since then and never plan to again.

  3. "The problem is that the constitutional court has been politicized. Do anybody believe that Abhisit will get dismissed if he appears in a cooking show? "

I really doubt that anybody would accept, in any country, the idea that the PM should be spending time in preparation of and filming a cooking show.

He broke logical and sensible laws.

That's quite a statement. Obama was a guest in Jay Leno's show just a few weeks ago for instance.

And Tony Blair did a comedy sketch whilst still in power

  4. Thailand revokes Thaksin's passport

BANGKOK: -- Thailand has revoked the passport of fugitive former premier Thaksin Shinawatra for allegedly inciting protests that disrupted a major Asian summit, a government spokesman said Wednesday.

Asian leaders were forced to flee the summit in the coastal resort of Pattaya by helicopter on Saturday after pro-Thaksin demonstrators stormed the venue in an international embarrassment for the government.

"The foreign ministry has cancelled his passport," government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn told AFP. "The incident on the 11th is the reason."

"The decision to cancel his passport was based on passport issuing regulations, which state that the ministry can cancel or recall a passport if it can prove that a person has caused damage to the country," he said.

Thaksin was ousted in a military coup in 2006 and lives in exile to avoid a two-year jail term for a corruption conviction. He has made a series of speeches to his supporters in Thailand by videolink and phone in recent weeks.

A Thai court issued an arrest warrant for Thaksin and 12 of his key supporters on Tuesday over anti-government protests in Bangkok that left two people dead the previous day.

The demonstrators abandoned a three-week vigil outside Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's offices on Tuesday to avoid a threatened military crackdown.
