  1. ' doom and gloom ' as you mention it

Allocate 25 percent to Gold Bullion

"The best thing an individual investor can do right now is to hold 25% of his assets in equities, 25% in real estate, 25% in gold, and 25% in cash," "If equities, real estate, or gold drop another 10% to 20%, put more cash in." said Faber last week. - in Bullion Vault

Contrarian Investor Dr.Marc Faber is an international investor known for his uncanny predictions of the stock market and futures markets around the world.'

let's follow the "international investor known for his uncanny predictions"

-we buy 25% equities. which ones? who cares? the "uncanny predictor" didn't mention specific equities, i.e. we can buy any equities. ENRON comes to my mind and Lehman Bros. i was told their shares are nowadays available at bargain prices. and we all know that what goes down must go up again.

-then we buy real estate. what kind, where? the "uncanny predictor" didn't mention specific real estate, i.e. we can buy any real estate... perhaps not too far away that we can look after it? Bangkok and surroundings with free garden irrigation seems to be a good choice.

-gold is no problem. we walk into the next goldshop and tell the sales girl "gimme 25% gold bullion, but leo leo... and don't you dare to cheat us with 96.5% Thai gold!"

-the remaining 25% cash we diversify using a mix of Baht coins, cowrie shells, Angolan Kwanza, Laotian Kip, Burmese Kyat and Cambodian Riel. if the Baht becomes worthless and we can't buy groceries we cross the border to nearby neighbouring to buy what we need. i take it that this is what the "uncanny predictor" meant because he did not mention any specific currency.

-if -as the "uncanny predictor" advises- the non-cash assets drop 10-20% we use our cash and increase their share. should afore-mentioned assets drop 40% we will ask the "uncanny predictor" to loan us some cash because we don't have any cash left. but the latter is theoretically only as we all know that equities, real estate and gold never lose their value but keep on going up, up and up.

    as simple as that! :jap:

For Thai Stocks in 2011, Faber recommended Chiang Mai Ram Medical [CMR.Thailand], a hospital-management company, AEON Thana Sinsap [AEONTS.Thailand], a consumer-finance company, MCOT [MCOT.Thailand] is a communications company, partly state-owned.

  2. I believe XAU refers to 1 troy once of gold in USD.

And the price is 1427 USD/oz now.

EVENING STAR on XAUUSD. Daily. Watch weekly close. Could have a shooting star. Also does this formation give us a hint of sentiment on NFP 2morro?

Strategy as seen at 7pm thai.

possible move higher to 1427/30 zone. If this happen I would think this area to be an ideal sell entry stop 1442 zone pending on your spread.

    Stoc is coming down.

Can wait for a trendline break also for mor conformation.

    Pic attached.

    Previous long was closed.

    .

Can you be more specific about which markets you are trading Paulo? For the vast majority of the world this is the $XAU, measured in $USD:

You seem to be talking about some other instrument entirely. Thanks.

  3. I know this is an old thread.

My family and I use Samitevej quite a lot. I'm not farang. I saw Dr. Wichian recently who prescribed Zyloric to reduce my uric acid levels (which he said was 99% safe) after 1 month of 'no eating chicken' diet did not work. Zyloric caused gastrics problem which the Dr. Wichian did not warn me. I should have 'googled' it instead of trusting him. I then visited Dr. Prasert who in my opinion has poor patient communication skills. He scared me saying I may have liver damage as my liver enzymes were elevated. He could not explain to me clearly in English and left me really worried after seeing him.

I changed doctors the next day.

Samitevej Sukhumvit has dual pricing policy for foreigners and Thais. MY GP in Samitevej charges THB 800 while my wife is charged THB 600 for consultations.

Generally, I find doctors in Bumrungrad better than Samitevej. I will also research my doctors qualifications in the future.

  4. But the then the authorities in this country are too stupid to understand the advantages of good quality European cars, especially German ones.

It's not Thai authorities, it's Germans. All they need to do is to invest in local production and supporting industries, like Japanese did. They prefer to import all their parts instead, pay shitloads in taxes, and milk rich Thais with their ridiculous prices.

VW is a complete screw up here, management wise, but at least they are still present. What if something goes wrong with Seat? Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters?

    Sorry ...was laughing too much.

  5. I had a wireless problem with my X-Box 360. The console was previously repaired for '3RLOD' in Bangkok.

    Decided to DIY this time.

Here is a picture of the Thai technician's work. I like the use of tooth picks.

"I did" sweet FA for the good of Sheff United.

    Good ridence I say.

    Next.

Really it could,nt get much worse.

But now its all too late I think. Its the fizzy again next year.

    Cheers( a big one).

    Oh no!

  7. Thank you all for the reply. I will look into the hotels recommended.

I've stayed in the Katha Thani hotel 5 years ago which I remember was quite nice. Unfortunately the hotel is fully booked.

How is the Karon Beach Resort?

  8. Its true. I'm not farang or thai.

Got caught in Thong Lor in February. My level of alcohol was 72 units. Had dinner & a few Singhas with a friend.

Police didn't want money. Went to lock up, posted bail & went to court the next day. Paid fine & need to do community service.
