No thanks earned.
Flake could have saved the American citizens by NOT providing the decisive vote. A nay from Flake would have ended Kavanaugh's candidacy. Instead this nomination circus will continue.
True. If he had doubts enough to call for an FBI investigation, he should have voted "Nay" or ,at the very least, deferred voting until after the FBI investigation.

He is doing more in the eyes of the Thai people for getting rid of a lot of illegal falangs than the other senior officers and the more that he gets rid of the higher his standing will be when it comes time for the elections plus the higher the standing will be with the Thai people for the power and leadership of the country to remain in the same hands that it is in now even though it will no longer be a Junta but a legally elected democratic government. They can use him and his reputation for getting rid of many falangs by pointing out to the people that they appointed him to this position to clean up the immigration and get rid of all those falangs that do not meet the requirements for their visa extensions and also getting rid of the corrupt immigration officers and thus make Thailand a much safer place for Thai people without those trouble make falangs that abuse the immigration system. Remember the election is listed for February 2019 which is only 5 months away which is just the right amount of time for a big shake up of immigration and the deportation of many falang that it will be fresh in the memories of the Thai people.
The average Thai probably doesn't give a rats about whether the falang is legal or not. Only the self-righteous falang on TV seem to get upset about them. In fact, it's usually the legal ones who get into the tiffs that we read about on ThaiVisa. Agencies have been around for a long time and are a source of income for Thais. They won't kill the goose much to the sadness of some posters here.

Why must he speak "English"? He is the head of Immigration in Thailand and he does not need to speak English because he will not be dealing with the lower class immigrants, he will be dealing with his immigration team which are all Thai's and it is them that are dealing with the immigrants that should be able to speak several languages as there are not only English speaking immigrants in Thailand. I would be very careful about this man because nothing would be better for him than to get rid of a lot of these illegal immigrants who have used agents to pay IO's a brown envelope under the counter because they do not have the required finances to remain in Thailand legally. How many of you have used agents with false documents to get your extensions? I think you should be worried because you could be a big feather in Big Jokes cap as you are led to your aircraft when you are deported out of Thailand. There is something for you to think about.
And promotions in thr RTP do not involve brown envelopes?

But I wouldn't be putting him on the Supreme Court either.
And that's the important thing. Any twerp can run for POTUS, but this man is applying for a position on SCOTUS; the highest federal judical court in the USA.
He has made it quite clear that any legal decisions he makes will not be based on the law, but on his anti-Democrat stance. He will be like a policeman who is convinced of your guilt and arranges the evidence to suit that opinion instead of going where the evidence points.
SCOTUS is the last hope for proper legal recourse. Can you trust this man to do the correct legal thing?

Not imploding. On the contrary, I see this as a sign of vitality and health. 13 years of poor leadership, of one failed strategy after another and of electoral loss. Abhisit's position should have been reviewed after his first defeat at the polls and then at a regular interval as is done elsewhwere.
Is Abhisit any different than the military rulers? He is unchallenged and not accountable to anyone in the party. He is weak and pliable, which is probably what the generals prefer.
Nah! This is all about revenge. Abhisit never really supported Suthep during the 2013/14 demonstrations and the lattter has a memory like an elephant. If this bloke wins, he'll take the Democrats to team up with Suthep and his ACT party to support the junta leader as future PM. Not being a junta supporter, Abhisit will be thrown to the wolves while the wicked warlock of Surat Thani will once again rise up in power.

Currently May has zero political future so she should put hers hands up, admit they have made mistakes, and immediately call another referendum. Bet it would be more like 70/30 to stay in the EU.
For all the people who want a 2nd referendum, let there be one STRICT condition. Those who didn't vote in the 2016 referendum CANNOT vote in the 2nd referendum.
If you were too bloody lazy or couldn't be bloody bothered last time, then stiff cheddar. You're not going to get a say this time. That's the trouble: a lot of these Remain whingers now, didn't go and vote on that crucial day.
There it is: A 2nd referendum with the same voters and accept the result.

What century does this police force belong to? Was this the type of police procedure that the young British girl was subjected to on Koh Pangan? Sack the <deleted> lot of them and start afresh!

The problem is that he was going with his own pre-conceived ideas formed after his tour of Koh Tao. So, instead of being a policeman investigating an alleged offence, he would have been more like a defence lawyer trying to prove the girl a liar.

So, assistant teacher who is new at her job makes a mistake in marking homework. What will we do?
Lets go and talk with the teacher to check.
NO NO NO!! That's too logical. Lets go to Facebook. Lets mock the teacher! [of course, we'll tell others that we just want to be sure that our answers were right].
And we'll make certain it goes into the BP as well as the Nation newspapers.
Of course, my sister and I and our niece have never made a mistake. We're perfection personified!!

That's right, just US$ 75 000/= PLUS AN UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT AS "DAMAGES" !!
Hopefully $1.00. No one believes Unsworth is a pedophile. It's only posters on TVF who believe that others think we are pedos or sexpats for living in Thailand. His reputation hasn't been hurt. In fact, how many posters really knew him before this incident at the cave. And if he hadn't opened his arrogant big mouth on CNN, this wouldn't have happened and life would have just gone on.
So because they are both stupid men who should have kept their mouth shut, they can both pay their own legal fees, too.
Now lets get back to discussing another non-issue "Was Knight's cartoon sexist / racist?"

The depiction of Serena Williams was clearly drawn, consciously or unconsciously, from hackneyed and mocking images of African Americans and Africans - deeply offensive and with no place in social and political commentary. - Alex Byrne, Glebe
Please enlighten me! I don't know! Who is Alex Byrne [besides being a person who writes into The Sydney Morning Herald]? Why is he so reputable? Why do you hold him and his opinion up so high?
