That's from what I've heard.
That is often quoted and may be the rule but I know of 2 Ex-pat Brits both of whom had been here for many many years who returned to UK because of medical issues and got excellent treatment straight away with no problems.

I had same problem with a time sensitive air mail letter taking just over 2 months to get to me. My reply sent by airmail registered at a cost of 120 baht was posted on a Monday and delivered in the UK on the Friday. Can't complain about that. An airmail parcel posted at the same time which I was warned could take a considerable time due to shortage of flights arrived in 8 days

My understanding is Marmite is a meat extract, which is why it can't be imported into Thailand, whereas Vegemite can. But the label says 100% vegetarian, have you guys finally seen the light?
Marmite is available on Lazada but expensive!!

Another good one was VIMTO from Manchester. A V&V (Voddy & Vimto) was/is great.
You can buy Vimto on Lazada 4 cans for 180 baht plus delivery

Smart Watch DZ09 from Lazada for less than 200 baht. I have bought 7 or 8 of these for various children etc. Just need to buy a memory card, stick in a SIM and they can do almost anything. Even the camera takes good photos.

replaced Mum's old one last year in the village, 1,000 Baht all in.
I would agree. That is far nearer the right price than 8500 baht. if someone quoted you that look for another builder / plumber

Most UK banks will not send cards to Thailand. You have to get them sent to a friend or relative in UK who can then forward to you. It's a pain in the <deleted> but it works OK

I am never British, always English and I certainly would never use UK as a nationality

They do realise that by writing off any money owed to Airbus could mean they lose 30 planes. right ?
They had so many in storage even before the Covid shutdown it shouldn't cause them any problems. If they had got rid of the 50ish planes they had in storage some for as long as 5 years maybe they wouldn't be so deep in debt.

Does anyone know of a way to get a list of the movies on Netflix with Thai audio? It's not Thai movies that we are interested in but those from USA and UK. I have asked Netflix who tell me that once I subscribe I can do a search but there is no list available outside the App Being a skinflint I do not intend to subscribe only to find there are just a handful of movies.
Any help appreciated

This plan will raise the total number of THAI jets grounded to 24; 12 planes were earlier grounded for engine maintenance, resulting in the company having 54 planes in operation from the 80-strong fleet.
Not exactly true as Thai already had 54 planes in storage so by my reckoning they have at least 78 planes grounded.

My Dunlops have been excellent. Made in Germany by the way

As I understand it there is a total ban on the import of second hand cars due to all the scams etc that were taking place to avoid paying duty

I like Americans and get on well with almost all I have met. Only problem is that they murder the English language with their incorrect spellings and strange words for common objects!

You can download many from www.dedbit.com

Tow their cars away and charge them 10% of the value to recover the car

Maybe I am just lucky but I have been using True 3g on a dongle for over one year and thankfully have had no problems.
Where I live there is no other option at all. No phone line within 3 miles, no coverage from AIS or DTAC and none of the other options available so everyday i say thank you True!!!
-
I am not far from Wang Nam Yen and the best (and only) service in my area is True 3g via a dongle. As the previous poster said it's very reliable and fast if you go for the 800 baht monthly with 5GB download.
However for my everyday surfing where very fast speed is not necessary their 59 baht a week, 512kbps is fine.

I was there for 10 days last September and found it perfectly safe. Obviously you have to be careful but we found everyone very friendly and would go out of their way to help. It's certainly a different experience, ie armed soldiers patrolling inside 7-11, sandbags outside the banks etc but I would go again.
