  1. I have always wanted to buy a internet cafe in Pattaya,I love computers and can sit on one for up to 3 days.

Whilst here on my holiday,i have spent most of my time going to internet cafes,i know it may sound boring to some.

I wondered if any of you expats or business people think there are profits to be made?

1 baht a minute taking into account electricity etc.

I have seen different set ups here ranging from the private cubilcle type to the ones where computers are facing everybody, what sort of things do you consider would make a good internet cafe?

I know some of them are now offering free glasses of water.I think GAMES may attract people.

I would love some feedback from you all.

  2. Well,I think you are all saying June, because your seeing it now.

BUT,I beg to differ, and i bet August is the slowest month ,less tourists in Pattaya!!!!!

Who agrees August is always the slowest month. This is for a $50 bet i had with a friend, pity he picked June. What about July? No ones picked that.

    I still stick with August.

  3. Yes im sure this question has been asked before, but what would you vote the quietest month be in Pattaya?

Remember only in Pattaya, and what i mean by quiet is the less tourists, less business .

What month would you rate the absolute low season?

I did say June, however a friend said this is when Europeans take their holidays.

I then thought July, but this is when school teachers and students take their holidays.

Obviously we can rule out December,January ,november, february maybe out?

What would your vote be? May? June? July? August? September?

  4. Well im off to Pattaya again soon, for nearly 2 months,so i am planning to get fit on my annual holiday.I have been past Tonys Gym numerous times however i forget the location.

Im planning on staying in Day Night area ,so by memory,Tonys gym ,the one ,with tennis,is walking distance, how long would you estimate the time in walking from day night to Tonys gym,the one with the tennis court, and is that one 24 hr one or not?

Also anyone know the cost per month ?

  5. mmmmm,yes i think you are right.

I wonder what you think of Radiation treatment where they shine a radiation light on the affected cancer area to burn the cancer.

My Dad had Chemo, made him sick, not eat and worser than he was before.

The woman doctor cancer specialist said it will work etc, when he got sicker she didnt return his calls and he changed Cancer Specialists.

I dont believe in Chemothearaphy, this is where they put medicines/drugs into your arm and a combination of anti cancer fighting drugs.

I will tell you this though,my dad was 75,he battled lung cancer for 3 years, the doctor operated on him ,then he had this radiation to "burn" any cancer left.

The doctor said you are cured.About 2 years later it was back ,this time it had spread.

They tried chemo, radiation etc etc.HE stopped the chemo,it was making him toooo sick.He got sicker, almost like a POW in his weight dropped down to skin and bones, his toungue was infected,he got pnemonia .

Anyway he was a fighter, but he told me on his last night alive that he wanted to go,the pain was too much,so the stupidest thing i did was call a ambulance, they came and got him and was well enough to walk to the ambulance.

I thought he would be ok,it was 2am in the morning, then 2 hours later they called to say he had passed away.

Now figure this out,he was very sick,ok,but he walked to the ambulance,i believe they, the doctors do give you the needle.

I was very angry and that morning i went to see the doctor on duty and he told me my dad was in a lot of pain and very sick.I then knew he had obviously helped him die.

In a way it was a relief he died because it was so much assisting him and he was always sleeping and not eating, but i wish how i knew how he died so suddenly, but in a way maybe i should be grateful that maybe and just maybe that cancer specialist assisted him,i dont know.

  6. TROPO-"If you think about it, there's no reason why a young blind person should be any better at massage than a seeing person and it's just a gimmick. My idea of a blind masseus/er is a 50-60 year old who has a very experienced "feel" for the human body"

Yes, I tried the Thai Blind massagage in the Jomtien complex, the massage was cheap,120baht for 1 hour,a young blind guy was massaging me but i found it a very hard painful massage and i had to tell him many times.Usually i love deep tissue type massages but this guy was using the point of his elbow to massage the bone of the edge my shoulder blades.

Overall it was a cheap price but a painful massage.

What I am looking for is a "chinese type" massage where they walk on your back, cracking your back etc.

Its hard to find a good massage, sometimes you strike it lucky with the beach masseurs.

The only thing you can do is to go around and try massages to see what is the best, but at 200 baht a massage, and some of them DEMAND a tip it can be expensive.

Who knows, maybe someone on here knows a good cchinese or japanese style massage?

  7. yes Thankyou guys, and to you too Donna,I am after probaly 2 things on this next long stay and that is to get a colonscopy and also a full medical check up if I can, probaly from the same hospital.

I am trying to get it a bit cheaper as I am from Australia which can be expensive for a colonscopy.

I will google the hospital websites,i thought there was only 2 private hospitals in pattaya so thanks for naming a few more.

I cant imagine going to the Thai Public Hospital , Im sure there would be a fee anyway,or you probaly would need a Doctors referral.

In Australia if you are not a perm resident you are required to pay a fee in a Public Hospital and they will only see you for emergencies, not for elective type surgery,i thought this may be the case for a Thai Public Hospital, surely there must be a fee for non Thai citizens.

  8. Yes thanks LuckyDog,am I allowed to use a Thai Public Hospital not being a Thai citizen.? I thought they might be only for emergencies rather than "elective type procedures" such as a Colonoscopy or a health check up?

Has anyone used the Thai Public Hospital?

  9. I didnt know whether to post this on this forum or the Pattaya forum, hopefully I have the right forum. This is my first post and I will be going to Pattaya again next month for my annual holidays.

I have searched the forums for a answer to my question and unable to find one so Im wondering if you all could assist me.

I am nearly 40yo and overweight, and am wanting a medical centre or Hospital in Pattaya preferably that does a colonscopy,(internal check of bowels)

Also maybe separately I wonder if I can get a complete health check up in Pattaya, and then the colonscopy to check my bowels for polyps, just a check to see if everything is ok.

I have looked on the Bangkok Pattaya hospital website but it doesnt mention anything about these subjects.I suppose I could email the hospital to ask if they do colonscopys.I have no symptoms however i just want make sure everything is ok in the bowel Dept, and also check up of health since i am overweight.

Can anyone give me a web link or anyone have any experiences?

I am of course concerned about cost and dont know whether it will be cheaper to get a colonscopy in Thailand.thanks
