  1. Go and see Dr. Viroj Chodchoy at Bumrungrad Hospital for consultation (Cost under 1.000 baht). He is one of the best urologist in the country. I am currently under his care.

A biopsy at Bumrungrad may cost you up to 80,000 baht (very expensive). A friend of mine did his at Sriraj Hospital and was charged under 10,000 baht including a 1 night stay - this is the government/public hospital. Make sure you go to Sriraj Hospital not Sriraj Piyamaharajkarun Hospital.

  2. Forget Sleezeler for steak, they are no better here than stateside, although we do enjoy going there for the salad bar only. We have heard that you can get a really great steak at Claudio's in Jomtien complex.

  3. Maybe a silly question but do i ask to see a normal GP if there is such a thing, as for this kind of thing in England i wouldn't go to a hospital.

As i know these hospitals are huge.

Would one of the many doctors clinics along Sukhumvit be able to issue a prescription.

Irony is i've been here a month and lived like a monk, one night mortally drunk and i end up with blood on my john thomas from a street hooker.

If you are indeed very concern that you may be exposed to the HIV virus, it is a very serious matter. Go to see a specialist who is an expert on this not to some generic doctor in some generic clinic! I have posted a link above regarding Bumrungrad and Bangkok hospitals with the names of the doctors (who deals with hiv) listed. Another option is the Red Cross, but they are closed today. Dr. Consultation at Bumrungrad is about 700 baht - if he prescribed medication, you can get these meds at the hospital (usually anywhere from 20 to 50 percent more expensive than what you would have paid at the red cross), or go and get it at the Red Cross on Monday. But remember the 72 hrs window after possible exposure... So act soon, time is running out!! If I were you, call Bumrungrad now and ask for appointment for today to see the specialist (see dr names listed on the above tread), if he prescribed meds just buy it at the hospital and be done with it. Your 72 hr window is quickly closing,

  4. There are no drugs to take. Prevention is only when they find out you have the disease. You first need to find out if you got it, so this means testing in the UK upon your return.

Please refrain from giving advice when you don't know what you're talking about.

If you are infected today, it can take up to six months or more for the virus to be detectable.

If you feel you may have been exposed to HIV within 72 hrs, there are measures that should be taken: http://gaylife.about.com/od/hivaid1/a/postexposurepep.htm

Then take an HIV test around 3 months - if negative do it again in 6 months, if negative again - most likely you are ok.

  5. We went to the Chow Box for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We arrived at 7:00pm and there were only 1 or 2 other tables occupied. Atmosphere and ambiance is very nice and gives something of a feeling of luxury. We were promptly seated and given menus. We ordered drinks right away - my partner ordered Tsing Tao beer but they didn't have any, then changed it to Asahi beer and again they didn't have it. I believe at least one of the beer he ordered was on the menu.

We ordered wonton soup, hot and sour soup, fried rice, stir fry chicken with vegetables, sweet and sour shrimp, and a beef dish.

The menu does mention that it is serving a British style Chinese food - so we were not expecting authentic Chinese food, and that's ok with us.

The soups were delicious and quite generous for a single serving - one bowl is enough for two.

The mains were as expected for a British Chinese style, BUT my one comment is that the serving could have been more generous for a main course. Especially considering the price for most of the main dishes which is the range of 180 baht. The pricing is fine, just the portion. They will have more happy customers with bigger portions and happy customers do come back.

The service still needed some works but this is to be expected with a new restaurant.

We wish them the best of luck, but we are waiting for a bigger portion to be announced before we return

  6. Basically a concept and a floor plan of what your business and space will look like. It is not unusual and it's common for a mall to request from a prospective tenant. They want to make sure they are not going to put something hideous in their mall.

  7. I have ordered 4 types of prescription medicines online from pharmacyrxworld.com - they supposedly based in Canada. Aside from the cost of the drugs themselves they add a $20.00 one time shipping and handling fee per order. They told me the 4 meds I ordered will be shipped in 3 different packages coming from India, the UK and Canada. Happy to say 2 already arrived from India and the UK. Waiting for the final package which is due in a couple of days, expecting no problems.

  8. its not the remaining rent that is the problem, it is i dont know where i can find another place to rent at reasonable rent like this (12000 bht p/m) everything is booked out because of peak season. and if i mentioned the word police to him that im sure would send him over the top. he is not going to work tonight even tho he does not realise i know he is back at the bar working. and he does see that i am online but does not know this site , he cant read very much english. and even if i did manage to escape it would mean i could never go to any boy bar here again as he has so many friends doing the same work in bars all over boyztown and jomtein, i dont know about sunee plaza ive never been there and it has never been mentioned all the time i have known this guy

Sorry but this story isn't adding up. You gave him 5k to 10k every 5 to 6 days plus he just took 30k from you plus you buy a lot of expensive western Meals for him? And you worry about paying more than 12 k rent a month? What is wrong with you? Just think of the savings just by getting rid of the boy? I am beginning to have my doubt! Are you for real? How about move to BKK or Chiang Mai? Or get a set of balls and tell the boy to <deleted> off!!!

What dont you engage first gear and re read the age of the Guy..........

Not everyone is perhaps so macho as you...............

Honey you would probably be surprised to learn that I am only 56kg... Far from being a macho man, but totally unwilling to be a victim of abuse as this case clearly is. At the first sign of disrespect or physical threat one of us would have been out the door and I can tell you it would not have been me. The longer you allow this kind of situation to go on, the more deeply ingrained it gets and the more difficult to bring to an end.... Capish?

  10. i dont know what "troll " means here , but if it means i only chase boys for sex i do not, i am not type of person who goes from boy to boy, i never have and never will sink so low as that. i just was under the impression from the very begining that this guy was genuine and sincere in everything he said. I was constanly sending him support money ever 3 weeks during the times i was back in australia before i came here to live., Now i know i have only been set up and used. how can i just disapear as someone suggested, I have paid up the condo rent for 6 months in advance, and he knows every other boy in pattaya, it would take him 5 minutes to locate me even if i did do a runner . this boy has lived here for over 15 years.

    [

"In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtrl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."

While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions and harassment outside of an online context. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[4][5]" - Wikipedia

  11. If you are afraid for your safety - you need to get the hell out. if you bought your apartment - then plan for the day where you can change all the lock and then put away all his personal stuff and put it outside the door. You pack your bag and leave the country for 6 months or more and make arrangement with a friend or a real-estate agent to sell the apartment. Make sure he cannot move into the apartment while you're gone and tell security to not allow him in the condo anymore.

I am telling you - again if you are afraid for your safety - get out and go home now!!!!

  12. 58 and 22... now think ........

    I think 5555555

    There's one born every minute!

As a 58 yo man what do you think a 22 yo woman sees in you?

Do the decant think, pay for her tuition and all her expenses until she finishes uni and leaves you for a young Thai guy, same as the older Thai sponsors do with these young college girls. Rent her own place for her, don't give her access to your stuff. it's a fairly standard deal over here.

What I think she sees in me are the advantages of an older man:

    1. Maturity and Wisdom

    2. Stable

    3. Responsible

    4. Loyal

    5. Open minded

    6. More time together

    7. Better sex

    8. More appreciative

    9. Better quality of life

Yes, I am willing to pay for her tuition.

    11. Who are you trying to convince... cheesy.gif

  13. OMG!

I appear to have found them:

    ANGEL WINGS

6 de-boned and deep-fried chicken wings stuffed with Pork, Garllc and grass noodles served

with a delicious sweet & sour sauce.

    120

At Purple Space Monkey -- Jomtien, run by a Thai and an American, go figure.

Ask and you shall find (yourself?)

    http://www.mydestina...le-space-monkey

But I still like my recipe better... I use glass noodles instead of GRASS noodles.

  14. For myself have been using a combination of Lipitor 40mg and Ezetrol 10mg for the last year and LDL levels have gone from 114 down to below 70 target range (58 last week). But agree not the cheapest medications but Sheryl has provided an alternate for the Lipitor (not nice not to lower retail price after going off-patent). Suspect daily salad eating may also have a positive effect on the number.

Oh I forgot to mention that he is also taking 10mg Ezetrol plus the 10mg Lipitor (reduced from 40mg as it was giving him much pain)............. But his last LDL was 203 and glucose 230 !!!!! Not good at all..... Yes the change in diet and exercise is crucial.

We live in Pattaya and will go to Fascino today to check prices :-)

  15. Thank you all and Sheryl for your replies. After taking his meds for about 30 days... My partner felt so much pain on his calf to a point walking at the mall was too painful for him. So he called his doctor and was told to take just a quarter of his 40mg Lipitor. Went to see the doctor a couple of weeks ago and the dr. told my partner that his cholesterol and sugar were still too high :-(. So now the dr. is adding Janumet 50/500 mg to his daily drugs regiment even though my partner told him that he has been taking glucono-500. But the dr. told him to take the Janumet instead. I swear this dr. Is working for the drug company! So now his monthly bills for his meds if bought thru the hospital would be over $500.00. I want the best for my partner but I also want to be smart and informed as to what drugs are best or even just the same but cheaper.

I am not very impressed with what he has prescribed so far and only yesterday I found out that the Janumet 50-500 has metformin as the main ingredient which is exactly what my partner has been taking (glucono-500) for a fraction of the price. Janumet only has an additional 50 mg sitagriptin).

Sheryl: the next time we see the dr. We will definitely ask to switch from Brilinta to Clopidogrel !!

Thank you again for all your advise.

Will report back in a week or two with better result... I hope.

  16. Based on this menu, I can't get excited. Its apparently some kind of attempt at so called British style Chinese food and the menu seems pretty much exactly like China Garden on Soi Lengkee:

    http://door2doorpatt...chow-box-2.html

So if you like China Garden type food you're in luck. coffee1.gif

    http://www.chinagard...IdArticle=25937

I am wanting REAL Chinese food. HELP!

Went to China Garden 3 months ago. We were very disappointed in the food which all had the same exact sauce and nothing authentic at all - we're not impressed!!! If the Chow Box is anything like China Garden - then we will give it a miss.

  17. There is an underlying culture of violence against visitors in Thailand that is not acknowledged by the local safety officials that needs to be addressed.

Just not true... I never encountered any such negativity or attack against me in all my years that I come to Thailand... and Walking Street is on my program almost every time...

So, OP, maybe you should think about why such a thing can happen to you???

What a load of crap of a reply and very insensitive! Believe me bad things can happen to good people too!

  18. If you live in a big US city - there are now many small mom-and-pop Thai markets. If you have 99-ranch market - go there and get the following ingredients to be stored in your pantry:

    1. Green curry paste (Nam Phrik Gaeng Khieo Wan)

    2. Red Curry paste (Nam Phrik Gaeng Phed)

    3. Massaman Curry Paste (Nam Phrik Gaeng Massaman)

    4. Phanaeng Curry Paste (Nam Phrik Gaeng Phanaeng)

    5. Rosted Chili Paste (Nam Phrik Phao)

    6. Yellow Curry Powder

In thailand you can buy the above from any traditional thai market, or most supermarket. Once opened, you can store them in your fridge and will last many many months.

Another must have store-bought sauces/ingredients that should be available in the states are:

    1. Fish sauce

    2. Oyster sauce

    3. Soy Sauce

    4. Coconut Milk

    5. Lime (juice)

    6. Palm sugar (if can't find - use brown sugar)

    7. Dried chili

With the above curry paste and sauces you can create almost all thai dishes. Of course you may need fresh ingredients depending on what thai dish you are intending to prepare - most thai dishes will need the following - if you are lucky enough to find these in your neighborhood asian market - then by all means: go get them - you will have a real authentic thai dishes!!!!

    Cilantro

    Galangal

    Lemon grass

    Kafir Lime leaves

    Sweet Basil leaves

    Mint leaves

    birdseye chili

    =====================================

These are just a few popular thai dishes you can make with the above ingredients:

Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut Soup) - you will need to buy fresh straw mushrooms or button mushroom

Panaeng Gai (Chicken Panang Curry Sauce)

Gaeng Khieo Wan Gai (Green Chicken Curry)

Gai Phad Bai Kaphrao (Fried Chicken with Holy Basil) - you may have a hard time getting holy basil in the state - but it can be omitted.

Gai Phad Med mamuang Himmapan (Fried Chicken with cashew nuts)

Phad Benjarong (Assorted friend meat with vegetables in oyster sauce)

Gaeng Phed Pet Yang (Red Curry with Roast duck)

Khao Soi Gai (Egg noodle in Chicken curry soup)

and many many many many more.... good luck.
