Payoneer is an alternative service that I recently joined in anticipation of this closedown.
Haven’t used it yet though.

I wish the wording used was consistent. Not all foreigners are tourists here.
The words “foreign visitors” and “foreign tourists” being used interchangeably here just adds further ambiguity and confusion.

The State educates for the growth of The State.
Actually the state educates for the unity of the nation. This has been the primary purpose of education in Thailand for some time as stated in National education curriculum.

The term “the foreigner” is used twice in this article. Why? Is this relevant to the case or even appropriate language in objective reportage?

Is he pleading not guilty? If so how can one be expected to re-enact the crime?
-
So why is it a bad idea? Does he say?

The very fact that this is even a discussion is so telling of how people are treated in Thailand, which is a problem that was here before COVID and will remain long after it’s gone.
Thailand appears to be unable or unwilling to go beyond the us and them mentality that’s so far behind most other countries, it almost begs belief.- 1

I had my first Astra jab last month (June 2021) in Bangkok. Was vaccinated at Kasetsart University. Also free and also had no side effects other than a sore upper arm.
Was told the second vaccination would be 12-16 weeks. No idea if that will change.

Never a good idea for a tourism authority to get involved in something they know knowing about.

I would own a gun for self defence if the law hadn't changed in 2017. I meet the criteria for legally owning a gun apart from not being Thai. I still want to defend myself if the case arises. I've felt this way after being physically threaten a few months ago. I'm not pro-gun but if the Thai man in the street can legally own one for protection I'd like to too.

Is this the same 'soft form' of Islam that is making my local bar and restaurant cover up the word 'bar' on its signage and serve drinks in coffee mugs during its holy month?

I live in Jakarta and when I read this kind of news I only think of one thing, "Shit more bikes on the roads!"

Yeah, and for the rest of his days he can have people point out to him, "They spelt it wrong!"

I'm working in Jakarta on a two year contract and paying in advance here is the norm. My landlord wanted me to pay up front for the whole two years!!!
I negotiated a 12 month contract, without discount, but had to pay in advance. When I mentioned paying monthly her English skills mysteriously started to fail her...
Just think yourself lucky this crazy situation isn't the norm in Thailand too. Strange thing is the service charge on the condo I own in BKK is paid yearly in advance, but here service charge is paid monthly!

It doesn't 'qualify' you to teach in the UK because it's a only the PGCE element, it's not the working/training in schools and standards etc. that leads to QTS.
I have completed the Nottingham course, a good friend the Sunderland. His course was tougher, more expensive (£5K) and included classroom observation.
My course was very useful, I learnt a lot.
It's worth the money if you don't want to return to the UK and study and want a chance to apply for international schools worldwide as most state basic requirements as 'B.Ed or PGCE'.
I found employment with an international IB school with my PGCEi.
Good luck whatever path you choose...

You mentioned a student, do you work at an educational institute in Thailand? I was earlier in the year when ordering my MBP and used the Apple Education Store, saved myself a little less than 10K baht

Yes, higher rates of income tax for foreigners isn't good for anyone.
Lao government has been promoting foreign investment heavily in recent years offering tax breaks to set up businesses in remoter areas etc. - this appears a step backwards...

How many foreigners will have salaries of approx. 3,000 THB a month? Very few I would imagine...
When I worked in VTE a few years ago none of the expats I knew there were earning anything close to that.

I saw this Thailand Robotics Humanoid Soccer from the Seagate guys in Panthip Plaza yesterday. Big crowd, lots of photos, lots of hype - very little robotics or football!

Tops at Piyarom (Sukhumvit 101/1) has both for the same prices as above although the regular is often sold out in a day!!!

For northern Indian food try the Royal India opposite the Sikh temple in Chinatown/Little India. What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in taste..,
