  1. NAI YANG BEACH

Nai Yang Beach, just south of the airport, is decimated, however the two major hotels – Crown Nai Yang Suite and Pearl Village – set some way back from the beach – have received only nominal damage and will be back in full operation within a week or two, though the latteris not currently recommending bookings. Nai Yang Beach Resort is closed until further notice. Along the road closest to the beach, there is not a single shop, bar or restaurant that has not been destroyed – some are simply not there anymore. On the Thursday after the wave the clean up operation was in full swing. Some places have even started rebuilding.

About five years ago I used to go to Nai Yang beach. I stayed at a chalet place run by a Swiss chap called Chris. It was by the main road that run by Nai Yang. The beach was a short journey down a small road. He had an excellent restaurant and some very nice chalets.

Does anyone have any information about this place?

To be with a girl you know I always found Nai Yang a great place for privacy.

I remember it had one or two very good restaurants just in front of the beach.

    I can't imagine that much is left ? - Terrible........ :o

I find the LBs of Pattaya are generally better educated and more fun to chat with than the bar girls. I want to heard their story of how they 'switched teams' and ended up in Pattaya. Take some time to befriend a ladyboy and when you are comfortable with them, take a chance. Thailand has to be the best place to 'get out of the box' and try a new experience. Go for it!

    Pattayaguy1999,

I have also passed this point. Unless there is some kind of instant chemistry

which is not usual I am bored with the mechanical response. This is where

the Ladyboys enter the stage. They appear easier to communicate with for

although I have some great fun times with bar-girls etc as I am not a fluent

Thai speaker and the chat can run out after "Up to you" and so on.

I wouldn't think of going with a Ladyboy unless I knew her quite well and even

then I would not be sure. I do get frustrated with the lack of communication

with bar girls to which people have said,"wrong type of girls, wrong country!"

Would Thai university girls be any better? Would they have the time for a farang?

    :D

I couldn't go back to western women 'attitude grief' - I think they are getting

    even worse ? :D

That is probably true but I am unsure about the sexual part? :o

Going out on a limb here, I think the main horror scenario would be afterwards, in the morning: Like I can totally see having had a little too much to drink, and in a rather dark pub or disco meeting someone who's VERY sexy but not entirely female, "but what the F; if it walks like duck, talks like a, etc.". But then comes the next morning, bright new day, no make up, and you're in bed with a DUDE!! Argh. Even worse, a pouting, jealous dude who has by now taken a liking in you and considers you his boyfriend. A dude who will say "Hi John, remember me?" when running into him shopping at Tesco with the missus and the kids. Then after ignoring him mubling something like 'sorry you must mistake me for someone else' then getting VERY angry with you and get some motorcycle guys to punch your lights out in exchange for oral sex. (All of this is strictly in my own imagination, needless to say. :o

    Cheers,

    Chanchao

This is one of the best reasons to give up the booze I have heard.

Would the Ladyboy lovers agree with this comment ?

"Just be mindful not mentioning it back home in the pub.

(Build a thousand bridges, and shag ONE sheep, do they call you a bridge builder?) "

I don't know what part of farangland you were from but that is one very ACCURATE statement !

  5. There are plenty of ladyboys lovers out there or the LBs working in the entertainment industry could not make a living. I had been going to Pattaya for 6 yeras before I took a LB home. I considered myself 'straight' but found out a lady with a dick did not freak me out. :D Somedays I take a lady home and others a LB. Does that make me 'gay', 'bi' or what? Too many of us in the West get hung up on labeling each other. We must all fit into one group or another. Sexuality is a complex thing and not easily understood even by oneself. An earlier post related a man who was married, had children and now is in a gay relationship. Did he one day wake up and dicover he preferred men? Did I spend 40 years lusting after women only to find I like women with a dick? There are no easy answers when human sexuality is the topic.

to 'bodypaul'. What is 'normal'? I spent 6 years in Pattaya thinking I was 'normal', chasing the ladies and now find I also chase ladyboys. Guess I left the normal category behind. But, that's what living in Thailand will do to you. Probably why many of us are here!! :o

Personally I think this a very intelligent reply, miles away from a black-n-white knee jerk response?

I love Thai girls but some of the Ladyboys I have seen make me wonder should I try one? But for the moment I haven't the guts.

Initially I felt ashamed by seeing pictures of and getting turned on by naked Ladyboys.

Your post has clarified the matter. It IS possible to enjoy both !

And not have hang-ups believing one is turning a shade of g(r )ay?

I would however prefer to get to know the 'girl' before I tried her? :D

  6. I prefer taco to sausage. Period.

    Rainman,

Somebody has obviously rang your 'Bell' ?

    'Texmex' has no flavour !

Do you prefer taco to sausage before or during your 'period'

Trying to do a TEFL is making me pickey or facetious or maybe both?

  7. Some quick remarks, not to anyone in particular:

    * Ratting out by a real girl saying that so and so is a ladyboy is very low, and if she gets found out (which is likely, especially if the guy freaks and wants to confirm) then it can likely result into trouble between girl and ladyboy.  Then again, it may not even be true, maybe she's actually a real girl and she's lieing to get you to turn the other girl down.....  In any case, it's low.

    * Trying to hide her (original) gender by a ladyboy is counterproductive.  Too bad that some don't realize this, but many (if not most) do.  Just ask.

    * Yes, many men specifically go for a 'woman' that also 'has a dick'.  It's a fetish I suppose, similar to guys who go for sm/bondage and loads more things that are 'different'.    Ladyboys would be wise to focus on this group and not bother with trying to deceive the (newbie) guys who will likely freak out at the mere sight of some male anatomy.

    * All gays I've talked to are not in the least (sexually) attracted to ladyboys. Makes sense of course.

    * Why would a ladyboy having a pee at the toilet at Subway freak anyone out?  Should they just find a wall somewhere?  Take it easy.

    * Beware of confusing the ladyboys you see working as hookers in bars with ladyboys in general.    The ones in bars (or worse, on the street) are more likely to be even less mentally stable then even bargirls can be.

    * Who was it who said that the attraction lies in the fact that ladyboys don't lay on the same spiel as bargirls?!?!!  If anything it's worse.  I think this goes for most areas: Ladyboys try to out-women the women.

    Cheers,

    Chanchao

    Chanchao,

I think you have hit the nail on the head so to speak.

I asked a 'gay' what he thought of the very attractive Ladyboys. He turned his nose up and said ,"Yugh!" I think he preferred his toyboy ! Now I know what he prefers when he goes to Thailand? Pretty gay 'toyboys' = YES ! Attractive Ladyboys defintely NO!

Now that begs the question = are men who go with Ladyboys 'gay' in anyway?

From what I have been told they go for Thai girls and Ladyboys - both together if they get the chance !

Where would a non hooker ladyboy that doesn't work in a bar

go to socialise ? RCA ?

  8. Some people have told me that Ladyboys have a college education.

If so, how well are they educated ? Or does it vary a great deal ?

    Yes Mr. Hermano Lobo,

I think that these people gave you the right information. Most indeed will have Matayom 6, but some might have finished their studies after Matayom 3.

How well they are educated depends a little bit on the school they attended and this in combination with their own specific intellectual capacities.

So you are correct when you suggest that it might vary.

To understand this complex matter you just might compair it with people who like tennis (or meatballs, or spaghetti, or biking) in your own country.

Even there you can observe the same structure in educational levels. Some will be higher educated than others.

But there are no special colleges for ladyboys, if that might be the consideration for you to ask the question.

"But there are no special colleges for ladyboys, if that might be the consideration for you to ask the question."

No, Mr Limbo I am not asking if there are any special colleges for Ladyboys, only apart from speaking English do some follow interests? Like the one who had an Objets D'Art stall run with college friends in Jatujak? Or, 'seriously' into films or anything else other than just bars and sex?

The few I have spoken to seem easily bright enough to do other things but I did not ask at the time.

    Cheers,

    Hermano Lobo

  9. This thread about ladyboys counted already 13.208 visitors.

I have no problem with buying one a beer and chating for awhile. Most that I have met are friendly and have a good sense of humor.

"I have no problem with buying one a beer and chating for awhile. Most that I have met are friendly and have a good sense of humor."

Usually I shy away from these situations but still have a short friendly chat.

I must admit a sense of humour to me is priceless. The more the better !

You Ladyboy experts out there must know?

My one contact with a highly educated one is the exception that proves the rule?

Or is it more common ?

  10. i am busy researching the whole thai katoey phenomenon at the moment & hope to have my book on the subject published early next year...

  11. :o

Guess that's why i'ts always a good thing to be right with the Lord. Jesus said the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion ready to devour us at any time. These are only the signs of the end-times-can tell you a lot more if you are interested...We (the children of the most high God) are led in all truth by the spirit of God,(Holy spirit) and all things present and future are made known to us through Him. That is why the world will reject us, for the spirit that is in the world, (Satan and the demons) hates all which is of God-and by rejecting the truth, all will be kept in bondage to the slavery of sin. Satan keeps a veil over your spiritual eyes so you cannot see, understand or reason the  truth, for it is rejected by and kept away from you through sin. When you give your life to Jesus, you will be led in the truth, and also understand everything going on in the world. When you reject the truth, you will be a slave to sin and not understand the things which is from God. My brother, the armies of the world will gather and bring fear onto all the people of the world, for the Antichrist is busy to pull the strings for a one world, one government and one religion government to the whole world! Can you not see that the US/British armies are everywhere?!  Open your eyes! The only way they can put this into place is to bring "terrorism" into the world by fear, so the people can want a force to protect them. It all started with 9/11. This was all orchestrated to gain world dominance-through fear. You will see terrible fear, oppression, hunger, sickness and wars in these days. Love, Daniel

Whilst I would put this into the evangelical born-again category if you take away the religious bit and concentrate on the 'One World Government through fear' theory it does make sense in a strange way.

There is volumes of this stuff on the net and it is usually put in the 'Conspiracy Theory' corner. There are some weird and wonderful theories floating around but if you actually look at what is happening and not the theories there is something to this.

It goes from micro right up to macro events. I always base my view on two books.

    1) 1984 by George Orwell and 2) Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

Now the THREAT from the Soviet Union is over a NEW THREAT must be found = 'Terrorism'.

The threat and fear of terrorism will produce drastic actions against personal freedom. All in the name of 'Terrorism'.

Biometric identity cards - more surveillance.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/3568468.stm

Remember that you are terrorising the population into accepting a system they wouldn't want. The UK now has more CCTV cameras than any nation on earth.

Remember everybody being watched by Orwell's 'telescreens' ? The constant wars to focus the attention of the home population. "Our boys on the Malibor front"

truckloads of Asian prisoners of war. The populations' psychology conducted by a 'media' ?

Has a familiar ring to it ? Orwell wrote that book in 1948 and just reversed the last two digits. He could have wrote in 1949 - 1994 would have been more apt.

The Internet is uncontrollable anarchic - well the 'Echelon' system is more than ten years old and would have no problems picking up this posting. Or for ANY posting on Thailand. Thailand does have close ties with the C.I.A and N.S.A.

Think about the Viet-Nam war ? What was that all about? So the World did not go Communist ? Yeah right sure I believe you - The US lost that war and the World didn't go Communist ! It made fortunes for Bell Helicopters in Texas though.

Watch the big companies merge into one - one central control.

Watch the airlines merge under the banners of Star Alliance etc

There is always an 'excuse' a 'reason' for the World getting smaller and becoming part of the ONE.

Watch the effect of Political Correctness - even on a basic level. The Thai closing hours changing to 1am then midnight. FIFA instructing the British FA that footballers scoring goals should be yellow-carded for waving their shirt in the air.

It's all about people control. It used to be done with religion now there are other means.

Paranoid or observant - make your choice ?

There is a World-Wide agenda. Listen to the public statements from the G8 meetings. Even twenty years ago they warned of 'Terrorism' - they knew that would be the knock-on effect from their political plans.

Has Thailand changed after last October's APEC meeting ?

Social Order Campaign etc Farang Volunteer Tourist Police at the lower level.

You just have to understand what is being aimed for and the bricks to fall into the wall a step at a time. Pink Floyd may have known how accurate they were ?

Don't think of Conspiracies think of Agendas.

Then watch the events as things come together.

Thailand could well look like Singapore in the not too distant future.

A more sophisticated and subtle version of '1984' and 'Brave New World' could well happen.

Luckily nothing is ever certain. Freguently though = Highly Likely.

  12. Back in the 60's a civilian jet, probably a 707 in those days did loose and engine over southern England and still made it in to land at London Heathrow.

Those babies are more resilient than you think.

I know it sounds odd but the engines are designed to come off under certain catastrophic circumstances.

  13. An engine could fall off and as long as there was not an uncontrolable fire a B747 can fly on 3 engines. In some cases even two. I wouldn't try it for fun though.

A BA B747 flew through a volcanic cloud some years back and all FOUR engines stopped. Luckily they got them going again although on landing the edges of the aircraft looked like someone had had a go at them with sandpaper !

The Boeing B747 is one very tough aircraft !

  14. Quote[i:"Just walk into any bar in Pattaya and listen to a guy that tells you how well he is doing in his business in Thailand."

Or how his girl does not go off with other men etc etc.

In the Thai Culture(and probably other Asian ones?) Lying is seen as a way of saving face.

It is so endemic I doubt whether there is even the slightest bit of guilt attached. "Everybody does it?" So it must be OK - I can see those thoughts crossing the minds of endless bar-girls/MP's/Go-go's etc. How common it is in the other levels of society I couldn't really say but that 'Saving Face' situation will often produce a lie on every level.

Professional liars like politicians(are you listening Tony B.Liar?) are trained in this use and the ways of disguising their body language. Since often they are ex-lawyers need I say more ? Well there's estate agents(Realty in US) etc etc.

A 'Western' way of describing Far-Eastern philosophy often goes:-

    What goes around comes around

I wonder how many broken hearts of Thai girls there have been because their relationship was destroyed by their lies? "I've always lied, it's always worked but this time I have lost the one I really want because of it"

What goes around comes around ?

  15. Generally only military aircraft would be covered by such secrecy and even some of their parts have been taken from the civil field because of cost. The fact that the B747-200 was damaged at a Military Airfield seems incredible?

Who has to gain and who has to lose ?

From being mostly monopolised the Thai Airline industry appears to now have opened its doors to deregulation.

When I was involved with some of the Hadj contracts many years ago our Company Boeing 707's suffered from bad driving from airport support vehicles.

This happened in Kano in Nigeria and I remember receiving a telex(no e-mails then) that one of our B707's had been damaged(on purpose) by a ground truck.

"Please send speed tape and pop-rivets we are going to make a repair!"

Nigeria has always been a bit 'crooked Third-World' and this is the first time I have heard of such a thing in a country like Thailand?

How did the culprits get on to a secure area on a military airfield. = Inside collusion?

To effect the damage described at least one of them must have spent time as an aircraft engineer. Surely it would not be too difficult to investigate the list of licences? Unless of course a Foreign National(s) was used which is likely.

I think an odour comes from this incident that resembles the smell inside those old B707's after they had finished the Hadj contract(The cleaners at the UK airfield refused to clean them they were so bad as the pilgrims had no idea what a toilet was and anywhere would do seemed to be their motto!)

Another Thai crime where the culprits are not found or get off ?
