  1. This is from "Samui Airport Guide", maybe 1 year before...

The bulk of Bangkok Airways' flights originate from Suvarnabhumi and a substantial number of its passenger traffic is between Bangkok and Samui. Bangkok Airways carries about 600,000 passengers a year through Samui Airport.

With a limited number of international flights, Samui Airport is largely classified as a domestic airport, flying mostly foreign tourists from Bangkok to Samui.Aside from Bangkok Airways' own international-bound services, Samui serves a handful of international flights from Malaysia by the low cost carrier Firefly and Selangor-based Berjaya Air.

Part of the problem is environmental restrictions on the number of flights and operating hours, with a total of 36 flights per day currently allowed.

But Bangkok Airways is eager to make Samui Airport its second traffic base to support the airport's new 500-million-baht passenger terminal that was completed early last year.

The new terminal is four times larger than the old one and can handle 16,000 passengers a day. It is intended to cope with surging foreign tourist traffic to the island over the next 10-years.

  2. Car Hire Koh Samui is the best and reasonable one to enjoy in Chaweng. Its price starts from £9.00 per day and includes fully comprehensive insurance, waiver for collision damage and vehicle theft. Also you get full breakdown assistance, unlimited mileage and liability insurance. It offers all the benefits which you can expect from a car rent company and that too at quite reasonable price.

What kind of vehicle do they offer for 450 baht???(we talk about cars, not motosai)

  3. I'll call a friend before I go to Thailand next time, see how much gold is selling for there, then check in Dubai when I go through there. I'm not really big on the whole smugging thing though, so I won't purchase it in Dubai...but I am curious. Does it have to be 24k gold?

Oh...and I'm not getting married at least for a year or two...am just doing some research for when the time comes. I like to be prepared and know what I'm getting myself into prior to jumping in the pool hip-deep, so to speak.

PM me, if you want real good and cheap prices for gold bars made in moscow.....

BTW, ever heard of "London Gold Fixing"??

  4. as OP mentioned, the tree is nearby his house.

i would not ask some people(with no experience) to do this job, because Thais can do "evellithing",

even damaging your house, and then?? who made the fault???

    The tree-of course.

look for people which have all the equipment, and the Know how of course.

  5. They'll need entertaining as it's usually the 747 with no screens in economy.. That or tranquilisers..

No seat-back screens, but a big one on the bulk-head, and drop-downs every several rows, but limited audio & only the film(s) they decide to show.

NB With 4 of you travelling, it's worth getting the frequent-traveller points, on their ROP-cards. Apply online if you don't already have them, and show them at check-in ! A UK-Thailand-UK return used to get you enough points, for a freebie BKK-Phuket/Chiangmai return, on your next trip !

There should be a few simple toys/games/colouting-sets distributed by the cabin-crew, for what they're worth.

UK-BKK-UK gives you only 12000 milies in eco (depending on the booking class also)

A domestic thai flight needs 9000 Miles for One way, and 15000 Miles for return flight.
