One can certainly generalize. The word does not mean everyone. Generally speaking, world wide, flashing your headlights at another motorist tells them to go ahead. This is courtesy. In Thailand motorist flashing their headlights is NEVER courteous and means "I am important, and get out of my way <deleted>!" That brings us to never making way for an ambulance, even when it is easy. Says a lot generally about the culture...Twice fallen of the motorbike. Once because of sand and stones on the road on a downhillbend. People came right away to help. It was daytime, round noon. Second time, driving uphill and slipped because of oil on the road. Nobody stopped. It was nighttime.
1 cant generalize that all thais are the same. There is good and bad.

I think you are correct. I have already spent too much time and energy looking for a new hose. I will just buy another one. The first thing I will do is split a regular garden hose lengthwise and cover the original crap hose so as not to wear through. Shame mine only worked a couple hours though. My remedy is to buy another one identical, cover the hose and have the other main body as a spare...I'm on my third pressure washer in 10 years. I've always found that:-
1. Fixing them is expensive relative to the cost of a new one.
2. Once one thing fails, it's not long before something else does.
Good luck with your K'archer.

My Makita sprayer's hose wore through after only a couple hours of dragging it on the concrete. Anyone have any idea who might sell a new hose with fittings?

I do battle once or twice a month with cobras, many hiss when hidden behind something. he spitting cobra has the "U" shaped design on the back of the head. Careful with this one...Never met a Thai snake that hissed. Might be a hissing beetle. They hiss real loud but not dangerous at all.

The police do not keep the money...the mansions they live in and the expensive cars are all Christmas and birthday presents. You should see the house two doors down from me...regular cop.
Do they fine you in your home country for driving a vehicle without a license? When you pay a fine in your home country, do you accuse the police of keeping the fine? In the states, I get the ticket, I go to the courthouse, pay the fine, and walk away knowing that I deserved it. The same thing happens here, but they are, by the Thai Visa community, called corrupt police just lining their own pockets. Have you seen them actually putting the money in their pockets and going home with it, or are you just going along with the popular sport of believing everything your read?Honestly, I cant really confirm that the DSI will go all the way to fixing these problems, but I see problems that have already started to be resolved, so we need to support them.
Is he serious????? Is that the disclaimer to negate him from having to do anything or take responsibility just a little bit! What a f.ing joke!!!
off topic a bit:
IMO, because i see some poor bastard lying on the road in a bloody mess daily now its coming into high season, why don't they stop the cops from handing out 500baht fines to every farang that doesn't have a motorcycle license OR the better way, why dont they enforce the "renter" of said motorbikes to only hire to people that have a license.....now this will stop a major amount of accidents i see............ oh because then the renters wont be able to rip off the farang and the cops dont get their fine money, which will run into the millions by season end.
What ever happened to duty of care by these people? Shit i thought i was back in Oz for a second. lmao.

Some expats have been brought up in cultures that teach and promote "problem solving". It can be frustrating to experience a culture that believes there are no problems and if there were no one can make changes for the better. Many of the shortcomings in Thailand are simple to fix yet never occurs. Understandable frustration IMHO.

shhh! don't let the secret out. They still think Rotties are like what the movies portray.
Are you sure he cannot be persuaded to let them in for a bone and a nice head scratch?th.ch.quno vom hause fritz.JPGPolice and various salesmen are screened first by my 24 hour security guard. Never had any visits since I hired the guard.

UnreadableGoogle translate from RKU News facebook.
More Phuket at this time to control the placement of fire . Light Brigade had not yet gone . But still can not get inside the arena . Because the Light Brigade . Some news sources report that the body found at the scene confirmed that 11 bodies from the scene . The rescue team charity fair question. That no one can go inside if you would like to confirm that as soon as the scene did not report on deaths here .

Not on my bucket list...even if they paid me.

I would start with the unique traffic flow here in Thailand compared to other countries. Then there are lot's of other categories...laws, how far to run after causing an accident, how much tea money for what offense, why big loaded trucks cannot stop when you pull out in front of them without looking, etc.
Not exactly. I like to doubt waste of time and effort to gain some sort of paper certification when those are not really needed. What's to learn? Surely you jest.
Back in my home country getting motorbike licence would take few months and cost 100.000B. In Singapore this would take couple of years, depending of the size of the bike.
When youngsters have learned to ride a bicycle, what is there to learn to ride a scooter or motorbike?

I have a local Bangkok Bank acct. Do you have to travel to NY in order to open an acct. there or can it be done by modern means?
I am going to try and open an account with The Bangkok bank next week for the same reasons as you. I'm glad that you have recommended it. There is also a branch in London. Should be easier and cheaper to transfer money from the UK.I'm from the US and use Bangkok Bank as they have an office in New York. Never had a problem in 15 years. Money goes in one day and the next working day it;s avaiiable here.

I knew of two dogs poisoned in the Philippines by MSG. Two tablespoons inside a hollowed out hotdog. Aji-namoto is the brand , easily available and in most Thai food. Ever wonder about the headache after eating out sometimes?

A couple weeks ago my daughter brought home the results of the yearly Sermpanya IQ test. She placed 1st in Southern Thailand and 7th in Thailand overall. She is Filipina/American. Her mother's beauty and my brains. Happy parents here. I believe it boils down to 50% genes and 50% environment...I make no claims of superior intelligence or lack of it to any particular race or nationality. As a case in point, in my country about 47% are ignorant fools and seem to actually celebrate it. Never dismiss the 53% though...

I have been re-posting this on my page every day. Just out here trying to save lives...I have added this to my Facebook page and I hope others do the same, to whatever social network you belong too. Hopefully someone has a circle of 7 that can make this article world news !

Quick question here....my neighbor did his first marriage ext. last year. After handing in the stack of papers, they gave him a 30 day ext. so the paperwork could be approved in BKK before he got his yearly ext. Is this just for first timers or does he have to wait this 30 day thing every year? Thanks in advance

Where is Thailand on the Philippens disaster ?

My wifes' family are/were in the most directly hit towns Guiuan and Gen. MacArthur Eastern Samar. The photos and news clips most people see are in Tacloban which is actually a little bit "protected compared to Guiuan and Mac Arthur. Now, several days into this disaster we have heard nothing of survival of any family members. Those two towns do not really exist anymore. The US Navy carrier and another ship arrive tomorrow and things will happen. At the moment, 90% of the aid that has been sent is not being allowed into Tacloban airport as it is being used exclusively by the Philippine Air Force and their two C-130's. Complete chaos is the order of the day...New Peoples Army (communist) have attacked food convoys, people are hungry and will do anything. My wife and I will fly over early next week to sort out what we can with her family...if any survived. Word is that the Mac Arthur mayor had the high school as a shelter. It sits less than 50 meters from the open east facing sea and rumors have it that it collapsed completely as did many other "safe" shelters. Almost a week and no one has made it to Mac Arthur...
