  1. Maybe its just me but any ideas on how to deal with this people, YES i am aware always improving customer experience and service is the best thing.

Put a visible sign in Hindi "We do our best guys, but sorry, the actual slogan is "No refunds" though" © "Simpsons", 2007, it was about Apple :o

Seriously, I think it is rather way to minimize expanses for such customers than disappointment, and it rather depends of the level of their income than of nationality.

  2. Geez....Had dinner and met several Russian tourists at the restaurant in Pattaya just last night... obviously they and us were both unaware of the accident that morning.

Condolences to all those affected by yet another bus tragedy.

Thank you for your solidarity, John. "Rip" in Russian - "Покойся в мире". "Остальные" means "others"

  4. you pay less you get less.

thats why the other "company" is more expensive...they have more boats, more staff ,a proper pier, safety teams, rescue boat and even 5 star toilets.

so next time you go to the full moon and get stuck with no boats and poor service ask yourself if it was worth saving a 100 baht.

Believe me, nobody wanted to save 100 Baht in this trip. I just came to my usual agent and bought the transfer she offered. She were very sorry about that next day and assured me she will never collaborate with this company in the future.

  5. We should go to Phangan by Sea Breeze speedboat at 22.30 but when we arrived to Big Buddha pier, we found no less than 150 people stand in a queue on the beach. At 23.30 there were still a lot of people on the pier due to lack of boats. Boarding was like Titanic evacuation but there were no persons to organize it somehow: people clambered up to the board pushing one another disregarding queue. As a result, more lucky, as well as younger, drunk and ill-bred, are succeeded to leave Samui for Phangan and about 50 people had to celebrate New Year on the pier. I also suppose that at least one Sea Breeze speedboat with tourists was on its way to Phangan at 24.00. There were three officials on the pier: one police officer who took photos of this horrible boarding to his camera, I think, to show pictures with these wild Farangs to his friends, and two guys in the pier uniform. They were only smiling and did nothing to organize boarding. We were on Phangan at 1 AM. Not all of us, one couple decided to go home because no need to say it was slightly late for Countdown Party. When we decide to come back to Samui we found that Sea Breeze customers had to go to the water from 2.5 meters pier before boarding to the speedboat. Nobody in this company thought they need a ladder for the boarding. I was with three girls and they are not paratroopers. Therefore we decide to pay money to other company to board without extreme jumping.

It was just horrible. Next day I was informed in the agency where I bought this transfer that it was so many people that Sea Breeze could not organize appropriate transfer for everyone. I can only mention that they could sell this amount of tickets. Dear Sea Breeze owners, I hope you collected enough money for the service you can’t provide to make you wealth and happy in New Year. I am going to send a copy of this report with photos to TAT to make them happy too.

  6. WiFi from ITC-Samui cost's 15baht per hour (expensive?)

if you go to an internet-shop you have to pay between 60-120baht per hour :o

Even less then 15. I pay 2900 baht for 400 hours so 1 hour is only 7.25 baht. But I prefer to have permanent connection.

what speed do you dream (need) ....256kbit, 512kbit, 1024kbit, 2048kbit.....?

I was living in Hua Hin before Samui and I had unlimited 1024kbit TOT ADSL for 1000 Baht/Mo. It was about honest 180-200 kbps to the West and it was enough for me to download streaming video etc.

For more help to you, some hardware-infos more are needed.

How you connect to ITC now? USB-Stick, internal WiFi-card, what type of antenna do you use?

    Chayaphum

I use external adapter "hField" with built in directional antenna with amplifier, you can easy find description of this device in Google. Or just believe me, it is very good :D I am just a bit far from the nearest hotspot. Thank you for the links and questions!

  7. I read a lot of positive reports about that in the north of Thailand. What about Samui? I have to use FiWi from IT Center now, it is quite expensive and very slow (I suppose not because of their quality but because I have only one bar of signal strength in my place. Slightly increased it with special directional antenna with signal booster but not dramatically). And my landlord does not want to setup TAT ADSL for some weird reason.

    Thanks for your opinions.

I am in Hua Hin now but going to move to Samui since October. Is it possible now to rent in Chaweng or maybe Lamai a nice home/bungalow close to the sea, with air-cons, good furniture, tv and ADSL? And what are the honest prices? It is for 1-2 persons and not supposed to be big. If somebody have some offers please pm me. Thanks in advance.

  13. I have ADSL from TOT, working good and without downtime but a bit slowly. Don't wait from them declared speed. I was subscribed to 512k plan and the speed according to bandwidthplace test was 305.8 kilobits per second. But now I upgraded my subscription to 1024k and bandwidthplace shows only 85.8 kilobits per second. So you can save 300 Baht/Mo choosing 512k plan:)
