So there are some provincial people who could manage to do it from there..

I thought (i've been told by bth thai visa member and police officer that I met) that we could be able to do it only in bkk.

I heard in other province they wouldn't have to qualified people in order to make it properly.

I'm curious to know how does it take, same time as from bkk ?

  2. Hi,

So if I understand properly what you re saying on this topic, is that I could have my WP cancelled and still using the visa from it later on ?

My employer is going to cancel my work permit on 31st january, but actually my visa (the extension) goes until 30 june 2020 (I got this 2 year BOI visa).. I could be using it after the cancellation and nobody would know about this ? Any risk doing that ?

    Thanks,

  3. Hi,

Just wanna add my 2 cents.

As i have been working for 10 years and eligible for all the matters, i wanted to apply for this citizenship.

Unforntunatly, things are gonna change for me next years, so i likely couldn't fill the requirement anymore.

I had the line ID of one officer at the SB branch.

I asked him on "date", meaning i d like to meet him outside his office to talk business.

He was the one telling me thr first time i went there that it will have a way to speed up the process.

So i wanted to figure that out and get an idea of how much money for how quicker could that be.

Meeting up at Central mega bangna for a cofee and start talking chill chill.

After turning around the pot, he told me a 6 figures digit could make the process faster, but only from his side, as (like you all know) they have to back amd forth with the MOI.

No garanty either of the application would be succesfull..

No many more details was given.

Well i just wanted to know wether it is possible or not.. Bit i didnt have any doubt about bribes still going on. Did you ?

  4. Thanks again.

If i may keep up with some little annoying questions, i would ask :

    - I built a house in my wife province (south), i would go on register this yellow book there, as I'm planning to go living here someday anyway. My mother in law is the head of thabien ban. But i guess the citizen application must be from conduct from this province right ? not in Pathumthani which I currently live in ?

    - IIs it possible to get a yellow book from a rented place (the one that i live currently) and then go through the citizen application on a more convenient way , even if i would likely be living elsewhere afterwards, as the application is lasting for years ?

    Thanks

  5. Hi,

I have been following this thread for years, but not continuously.

I got confused especially on one point, i know, it must have been discussed, but i couldn't find either on the first 10 pages nor the last 10 ones. So I apologies in advance.

I thought (as the OP didnt specify) that we had to live consecutevely 10 years in order to just start thinking about going though this application.

I ve seen on other website that we need the PR (permanent residency)  for 5 years. Which one is true/fasle ? both maybe ?

I know it s not the only requirement, but it's an important one.

If a good samaritain could say if i m entitled to go to this please ? :

    - french national, married with thai wife and 3 kids.

    - in April 2018, i will be working for 10 consecutives years in the same company (Pathumthani)

    - Paying taxes all those years (around 300k/year)

    - speaking writing thai fluently, (i dont know if it really helps though)

    - Dont have any thabian ban though.. is it mandatory ?

    https://www.phuketgazette.net/issues-answers/asked/thai-citizenship-procedure

Is this link still up to date ?

    Thank you very much

  6. In the Citizenshiip thread, it's said that we need the PR prior applying to citiizenship, at least for men (seems like woman married to thai national can go straight to citizen application.)

But in the current thread, which it's more recent, I could read several times that anyone already married to a thai national (and of course with the salary/years requirements) could apply directly to the ciitzenship.

PR makes points in the score system, but is not needed for Thai citizenship.

PR was needed to apply for Thai citizenship when I applied. I understand that they hey have since rescinded this requirement if married to a Thai.

    Thanks DBrenn.

You say you understand, or you haven't been informed that they would have amended it ?

I can't find the info anywhere, I guess better to ask them.

  7. Hi,

I've been reading all this thread and also the one about the citizenship.

Still one thing remains unclear for me.

    Can someone advise please ?

    Thxs

  8. Hi,

I booked a campervan in Perth for 2 weeks with my Be1st debit card from Bangkok bank.

I wonder know if once I'm there, I could use it to pay the balance and the deposit amount.

I know that online purchases are wiorking, but very doubtful on shopping abroad.

Can anyone help with this matters ?

I already emailed BkkBank, but no answers yet.

If I can't use this card, what are the options ?

Make a credit card with CitiBank ?

An other matters who concern me is the campervan insurance.

The insurance fee from the company (one i use in Cheapacampa) are very high, and I've been reading report saying that the cover is not what we woud expect.

(have to pay bound, even if it's not your fault for instance)

I was looking for others option to get my campervan covered, and find company like this :

    http://www.insurance4carhire.com

But it's only for cars, I then found for Van/Campervan, which has plenty, but it seems to be only for UK citizens !

Any advise for a french citizen ?

Thank you very much for your time

  9. Hi,

I know there are lots of topics about this, but couldn’t find one who really answers my questions.

I’m currently using True internet with true vision (the TV channel) at my condo, lad phrao area, said to speed at 14/1.4 (I don’t think I get even half of this)

I’m moving next week to a house in a MooBan at ramkhameng soi 140 area.

I’m wondering if I should have true following me there (I called them, they can move, but they couldn’t tell me how may days to do so) or I’d better change for an other provider like TOT or 3BB.

I used to have 3BB fews years ago in Chonburi and it was totally crap, but I know it can dramatically be different from an area to another.

I would also love to find a way getting some Tv channel when I could watch the rugby games (especially French, but also international, like the Australian one Skysport), and maybe some company provide box or’satellite TV ?

What about the “djou djai” package from TOT ? is it fast internet ? Tv channels interesting ?

I would need an internet fast enough to watch streaming programs

    Any advise would be appreciated,

    Thanks

  10. Perhaps we can establish a baseline of what we know, in summary, here's the products I know about:

TMB instant access 3% (expires in two months)

BAY instant access 2.9% (interest paid monthly, compounded daily)

CIMB instant access 2.75% (speed savings, means you have to spend 10k and buy a linked product)

CIMB fixed 3.3% (for five months)

Kasikorn fixed 3.25% (for six months)

Thanachart instant access 3% (minimum of 1 mill THB)

Feel free to add to the above.

    Hi.

I have read all the thread, ans still don't understand one thing :

i got a crappy 3months fixed account in bkk bank at 2%/year.

But this rate only apply for new deposit made..

That means they don't calculate the rate from the whole amount deposited but only one by one, "one shot" per 3 months per deposit..

    did I misunderstand something ?

what about the account from Krungsri ayuthaya. do they calculate the interest rate on the whole amount ?

    Thanks

  11. Thanks TOm for your answer.

Yes I'm aware of witholding tax, and I should pay it (or rather the company I make the invoice will hold it).

If I got taxed 30%, it's because I'm in the 30% bracket on my income, and all extra income will be calculated on that bracket, that's why I said I have to pay 30% tax on it.

Does anyone know how much income max a thai company can have and not being taxed ?

Sorry for my poor english, it's not my native langage as you can notice !

  12. In order to avoid asking a lawyer _unless it's mandatory-, I' m going ask the thai visa foru, since I alomost always find an answer here.

I'm employed by a company, and every three months, in addition to my fixed salary, I got a bonus which is basically commission on stuffs exported by the company.

So i have to pay taxes on these commissions , which is quite high in my opinion (30%).

Anyone could advise a way of avoiding paying such taxes ? I thought about invoice my company through an other company which would be mine or wife's ?

A small company with small income (not over like 200K bhat I guess) would not pay taxes,

    What do you think ?

    Thanks for any opinions

  13. If it can help, let me tell me you what I got from Mitsu this week :

TRITON double cab plus 2.5 2012 automatic 5 speed

825000 baht, 1,79% for 48 months payment with 25% down (200k baht or so)

1st class insurance for one year and taxes (porobor)

    Leather seat

    Rear sensor

    Film for windows 3M

Diamond garanty 5 years or 150000km and free service for 36 months

And below the usual crap (in thai, lazy to translate , as you can notice, my English is as crap as the free stuff)

So, I'll take this offer, as I really need a car right now , and it's the only one available at the moment anyway

As for the rear cover , they quoted it at 20000 baht, the one from Top up (manual)

    http://www.topupcover.com/catalogue_mitsubishi.html

They told that the only one available for new Triton, If anyone has any suggestions..

    Cheers

  14. There's no way you'll get 0% interest on a Toyota, expect more in the range of 2.6-3.0% (after negotiating), depending on down-payment and the term of the finance.

I got a quote from TISCO , they offer me 1,89% on 48 months or 2,29 on 60 months without negotiating for a Triton Plus at 825 000 bahts.

Also, I wouldn't need someone to back me as I have more than 3 years work permit.

Are the finance rate note the same from one brand to another ?

  15. I've seen the 2.2 XLT at Sriracha "motor show", lokks very good, and indeed, plenty of room inside..

I've been told "kon pee mai" for delivery, so before enf of the year, as we already are though..

Quite frustrating ! it goes the same for new isuzu,

only the so called new Triton 2012 is already available
