  1. When I started primary school in London in 1948 we would have at least one visit from the local policeman each year to tell us all of the dangers for pedestrians crossing the road. These were the days that you were respectful of the police, because they might apply light physical punishment, and if necessary visit your parents at your home to let them know what you had been up to. Retribution from your father often followed. When I was a bit older the BBC television had a series of Information adverts concentrating on road safety, such as: Clunk Click, Every Trip so you remembered to use your seat belt. All the Brits that remember that ad know that the narrator was a notorious paedophile.
  2. Starting April the first - April Fools Day. Think about it!!
  3. Earlier in December I drove frome Muak Lek, Saraburi to Mae Sot in Tak. I was absolutely horrified to find that many prolvices were not following the rules applied to the 120 kmh as I understood them. Which is if a highway had no level U turns the third lane could have a max speed of 120 kmh limit. I joined H1 close to Singburi and found that there soon was a 120 limit and undergroundf U turns, perfect. But further north some provinces only had level U turns but believed that it was OK to use the 120 kmh speed limit and still have level U turns - the exact opposite to my interpretation of the law and increasing the risks of high speed accidents. All of us who have lived here for some time know how well the Thai drivers have been trained and tested in a car, and the authorties in some provinces think that increasing the dangers on the highways will make the driving safer, reduce accidents and save lives! TIT
  4. Surely they are a private enterprise, that is the problem. In the UK the police are overseen by the Home Secretary and uphold the law If you don't believe watch Motorway Police on You Tube you will see actions by the officers that cannot be imagined by Thais.
  5. The highly intelligent Anutin states that: hub for collecting information to prevent and reduce road accidents during the New Year period! A person with average intelligence will be able to understand that it is impossible to collect information, analyse what the major problems are, and act on this information within 6 days. Sorry Anutin you are only 12 months too late!!
  6. Yes, I agree with you I did not look for sloppy reporting, I concentrated on the Official Comments and clarifying what other comments I saw. And also tried to point out the need for blood donations.
  7. How do idiots in Thailand get into such high stations? By bribery and corruption! This statement is so stupid that after 17 years here I am still amazed by the lack of the understanding of the English language. Basically their defence of their con is a lie. Their is no such thing as a service charge in Blood Donation The blood donors are offering their donations, not having a treatment for their health. If you must have a service charge it needs to be paid by the companies that use the blood. I was a donor from 18 until I was in my 50s and had to stop because of tablets I needed for my health. When I was in my 20s I was asked to paticipate in the plasmapheresis programme they had started and were asking all Rhesus Negative donors if they could take part. After we had given our first 100 donations they invited us to attend a reception at Regents Park in london in the evening, the only time I had Champagne and Caviar on the National Health Service. With the blood we donated the laboratories managed to eliminate the cause of babies and somtimes mothers at her second birthing. Much later in life I remembered my mother and my new sister were away from home for several weeks still having nurses looking after them - I was the first child and I'm Rhesus negative, my sister is still alive in the Uk at 76 years of age. I am so pleased that I took place in the experiments. I stopped being a donor when I had made 197 donations. Information on Plasmapheresis can be found Wikipedia.
  8. Sorry, I am getting old and my logical thinking is strained. I do not understand the governments thinking, paying two months wages every other month is exactly the same as monthly wages 12 months of the year. When you consider the Thai habit of spending a windfall as soon as possible bi-monthly payments do not seem to be a bright idea. Oops, sorry I am back on earth having come out of the rabbit hole and realise that I have been dreaming. Back at home in Muak Lek. TIT!
  9. No, he just wants to keep torturing the population. I am unable to post my feelings on this dummy Genaral as I would be suspended. Not worth it for this tiny, bigheaded idiot!
